Well I am not going to lie this is my very first retro game review though it is not my first review that I have written. I usually do not rate games in the manner that this has me rate games because I usually cut the crap and tell you if you should buy, rent, or screw the game... I can not do that really here so I will have to do this in a slightly different way so I am sorry if it sounds awkward.

Well I will start with what this game is. This game is a puzzle game that is based upon the Pokemon theme of the TV shows and video games. This game is very similar to the game Puzzle Fighter that is made by Capcom. I tryed to upload pictures for you to see but it did not work.

In this game you want to switch blocks around to match blocks in a three row pattern just to get rid of them or a four block pattern to do a counter attack, that is with the omission of the Pokeball blocks where you just match three to lead an attack. This leads to very addicting game play that is very easy to pick up but hard to put down.

The graphics on my game looked pretty crappy to be honest but that is probably just my computer. The backgrounds did not show up but really I did not need them because this game is not about graphics it is about game play. Which is the strongest suit of this game.

The game play like I said above is very easy to pick up and learn but very hard to put down. I played this game for just around 2 hours straight and I still wanted to play more. I kept wanting to come back to play also because you can easily boot up the game and play right away. The game is fast paced. You make choices quick because the blocks come from the bottom in a never ending wave. You can make them come up prematurely by pressing the L or R buttons which can lead to some devastating triple or quad drupal combos. I finished the first gym leader in a little over 15 seconds on easy my second run through. Though that is not too say this game is easy...

This game gets harder and harder and if you are not careful you will not be able to keep up! If you start the game and set it too a hard difficulty you will quickly wish you had not just because the computer will destroy you. I like that though it is better to have a easy and bone crushing difficulty. The game also has and endless mode that you can do after you beat all the gym leaders if you like.

I have to say the only bad thing about this game that really is not a gripe at all is that the story just flat out sucks. But I mean this is Pokemon you do not play these games for the story... I just did not rate the story because I skipped over most of the story parts anyway.

You should definently play this game as it is one of the best on the system. I give this game a 9.6 I would just have liked to see a few more things added besides having the gym and the endless. I would recommend this to any puzzle game fan, you will enjoy the block flip flopping greatly.

This game is probably one of the few puzzle games I actually enjoy.

Puzzle games tend to be boring and/or pointless to me, but this game made 3D tetris like games fun for me.

One of my favorite things about the game is the versus mode, when I was a kid, playing my best friend could get really intense.

legacyme3 : Ya I am sad that I could not get my brother to play with me because I really did want to be able to play the versus mode so I could review that aspect. But honestly I went into it expecting complete crap and I got utter greatness. So I had to write a review.
