theWolf0806 : It's nice to see someone stand up for someone else.  I respect that.  But you got me wrong, man.  Let's look at the conversation.

1.  RyanAustin led off with "Who else do you know that is that computer unfriendly?"

2.  I responded with "Everyone making fun of others, try being open-minded.  If you're perfect, teach, don't mock."

3.  Your brother came with "There are plenty of stupid people and it's okay to criticize them because it's their own fault.  Don't criticize others for calling them stupid."

4.  I said "Generalizing is a bad idea and just because a person can't use a computer well doesn't mean they're stupid."

5.  Brother: "I can do all the examples you gave oh and you're jumping to conclusions."   The same way he jumped to conclusions calling people who are not computer friendly "stupid"?  Yes.  He did the same thing.


The original question was "Do you know anyone who's not computer friendly?"  I said "Let's not be mean about this."  Your brother called people stupid.  And you want to say I pick on people because I have a self-righteous complex?  Look at your sibling, man.  He's the one saying others are worse than him because he can use a computer.  Then I call him stupid and he gets upset.  That's silly.

First, I'm 30 years old.  I'm not posting to bring anyone down.  I'm providing an example to your brother on why it's a bad idea to generalize on people.  He called people who can't use computers stupid and thought it was perfectly okay.  I called him stupid for reasons of my own and he was bothered.  Maybe next time he won't call others stupid because he didn't like what I did.

But I doubt it...

warmaker : when did I call computer unfriendly people stupid? I said someone who took a job in the TECHNICAL DEPARTMENT of a company and can't even find the control panel on a computer is stupid. Not all computer unfriendly people are stupid, if that were true many people in the world are stupid, also I'm not calling him stupid for not knowing how to use a computer, I'm calling him stupid for not having any common sense. If he didn't even know how to find the control panel AFTER 10 MINUTES of instructions on how to find it, then why did he take a job that required more technical knowledge than that? In that sense, he is stupid for taking a job he couldn't possibly do.

warmaker.... you frustrate me. i almost posted something that would have banned me from this site just now. my brother said that someone who is not computer savvy who takes up a job working on a computer is stupid. and i agree. go ahead and think what you want, but last i checked it wasn't a crime to call someone stupid for acting stupid.

And on a note related to this thread, I have never met someone that computer unfriendly. Although, it might not be that person's fault.

This is getting out of hand... so I'm going to close it.

Seriously, you guys are just a little over the line. If the thread owner wants it reopened he can come talk to me.
