Yeah, the only problem is that there are sooooo many mutations and varieties of cancer that unless a way to detect their uncut telomeres are found or another way of distinguishing them I don't know how cancer itself will be destroyed.

yeah, as exciting as it would be to be able to treat cancer in more/better ways.... cancer itself is such a generic word for a very diverse and complicated disease. Someone could have lung cancer and prostate cancer at the same time but the cancer would actually be different.

Hurricane Irene is not the only storm to have made severe damage. Tropical storm Lee passed right over me, in the Susquehanna Valley and has created what some are calling historic flooding. Here's a link to photos that had been gathered on the first day alone. Click here.

Photo #13 explains why I had trouble getting home from the campus. They closed down that very section of highway --my normal route. I believe the Pizza Hut in photo #18 has collapsed.

The rain had been falling all day yesterday, and for most of today. Right now we are only having a break from it. Another part of the storm will hit us tonight. I'm fine, but many others are having trouble.

I played basketball growing up. I did fairly well at it too. Won 4 medals. I don't really enjoy basketball anymore. All the players I grew up watching are old now. I've switched to hockey now. It gets WAY more attention in Canada anyways so it's easier to find a game to watch or find info about the sport in general.

Local sports teams? I do not think anyone would be interested in hearing about my local baseball team because they are part of a league that isn't associated with the MLB or the minor league.

The weather has been better for me. It has been surprisingly cool the past few days, dropping down into the mid-forties at night which is unusual for us during the summer.

I am just not active anymore. I once played baseball, basketball, soccer, bowling, and taekwondo --not all at once mind you. I sometimes do some bowling when the chance arises for me and my closest friends.

As for Geeo's forum, it has been slowing down a lot. I can't think of any topics to add that should be placed in here when they can be discussed by everyone.

I did Tae Kwon Do when I was 11, but only got as far as yellow belt before I dropped out about 8 months later. The class I was in divided us for sparring by height, and I was the tallest person so I could only fight this one guy... and he cheated a lot. So I just got tired of it and quit.

I was in a bowling league for awhile a few years back, but haven't done that in forever since I don't know of any leagues around here. I still have my own ball though, and Ben and I still go to the bowling alley on occasion.
