A Hard Day's Night (1964)
Starring: Paul McCartney, John Lennon, George Harrison, Ringo Starr, and Wilfrid Brambell.
Directed by Walter Shenson
A Hard Day's Night is a comedy film starring The Beatles. The premise is that the boys are on a trip to London to play a big show for a live television audience. Paul's grandfather (Wilfrid Brambell) comes along because he is, as Paul puts it, "nursing a broken heart". Paul's grandfather, as nice and innocent as he seems, turns out to be quite the trouble maker, causing problems everywhere he goes. He gets the boys to give him their autographs so he can forge them onto pictures of them which he attempts to sell, he causes Norm and Shake (The Beatles (fictitious) road managers) to fight, and he also causes Ringo to run away 45 minutes before the big show. Luckily, The Beatles find him and return to the studio in time to play their big show.
I found this film extremely enjoyable. Of course, I'm just a huge Beatles fan anyway and I enjoy anything they made. The music was great, with an all Beatles soundtrack featuring such songs as "Can't Buy Me Love", "If I Fell", "I Should Have Known Better", and the title song "A Hard Day's Night". It's also extremely humorous, and every line kills (except one line, but that's only because I can't understand what George is saying). I give A Hard Day's Night a 10/10. Perfect film. Simply amazing.
