It's not overestimated, it's truly the best game ever. Not because it has 3D graphics, but because of the extremely immersible story, the awesome fighting styling, the fact it's Zelda, the graphics, the secrets, the challenges, and the open world.

This game is not overrated. It's not that hard now, but the puzzles were tricky the first time I played. This was my first Zelda game and I loved the depth of the story. The cutscenes are tedious now, but when I first saw them I loved that there was a great visual element added to enhance the storyline.


You can't argue that the story being the same makes it a bad game. If you didn't notice, Mario has always followed the same basic story. Bowser kidnaps Princess. Mario fights Bowser. Princess is saved.

Actually, a lot of people did say it was the best game of the series.


I do also like Majora's Mask a bit better due to the challenge, but that doesn't mean Ocarina of Time is overrated. Majora's Mask had fewer dungeons, but each of them took a lot longer than the OoT dungeons.

I don't think that OoT was overestimated at all. I think that it became very popular and is still very popular with older gamers becasue Zelda was originally a kind of strategic puzzle game, while with the addition of 3D and putting the game on the N64, they were able to nearly instantly, take the game to new heights and give it new possibilities. Although I think that someone who started playing videogames in the time of the N64 would not feel as strongly about the game because they did not slowly progress to that point.

Though I have never played it I do agree no games should get perfect scores if we wanna talk about being fair, but this games is a very great game in all aspects. It is practically a classic N64 game.

It is as good as everybody who played the game says it is. If you think about it without Ocarina of Time there wouldn't be Majora's Mask because it is the sequel to OoT. I too liked Majora's Mask because it was challenging, the masks had substantial powers, and it made you have to work to get to the four temples.

OoT is not the best game now but back in 98 this game was way ahead of its time
i think it's a little unfair to be criticizing a game that released over a decade ago
The game is still popular because of its recognizability of the characters and the depth of the story
Its hard even now to say that this game isn't one of the best
