The purpose of this forum is to thoroughly review video games.


You earn 3 times more Viz for posting in this forum
When you reply to a thread or create a thread, if your post would normally earn you 20 Viz in any other forum, you'll only earn 60 in this forum. That's because your Viz total per a post (and thread) is multiplied by 3. The reason for this is is because we realize that threads and posts created in this forum will have more time put into them compared to other forums and we also want to encourage users to use this forum more.


Rules
-Make sure to say what game your reviewing and what system it is for
-Your Review should use good spelling and grammar
-Your Review should describe what the game is about and also what your opinions of the game are
-You should give a score on how good you think the game is (out of 10 preferably)
-Attaching a screenshot or box art graphic is recommended
-If you are reviewing a game that you dislike, don't say anything that might offend people who do like the game
-The bigger your review is the better (and the more Viz you'll earn)

I'm going to give my review on Dance Central for the Kinect (apart of the Xbox 360). I like the game very much because I know nothing about the art of dancing and it's a great way for you to learn how to dance. The Kinect serves kind of like a mentor in this game because the dancer on the screen's body part will be highlighted in red to tell you what part of your body isn't correctly in place.

There are a few different features in this game.I will start by explaining the "Break It Down" Portion. "Break It Down" is basically telling you step-by-step on how to do the dance for whatever song that you've picked. There are three different skill levels of "Break It Down" which are 'Easy', 'Medium', and 'Hard'. 'Easy' will give you the easiest steps of the song while 'Hard' gives you the tougher moves (medium of course would be in the middle). Once you start to dance, they'll give a little picture of what the move is (including a name) and your supposed to do the move little by little. If you don't get the move right on the first try, then you have to complete the move three times in a row in order for you to pass that section. You only have a limited amount of turns to do this, because if you fail the move in repetition, they'll move on to the next step. A way to bypass this is to select the "Slow It Down" caption in the top left of the screen. Slowing it down gives you both unlimited turns for practice, and it helps those struggling with the move to see in slow motion what's happening. There are about 3-5 segments of dance steps, and then they'll have you put the moves together. They'll put those moves in a certain order, and your supposed to go along with that order. If you mess up, they won't give you a chance to practice it again. They usually do this about twice in the easy section unless the song is really long.

Next I'll cover the 'Perform It Section". This is basically the same as the last part of the 'Break It Down' where they put the moves in a specific order. Again, you have the three different skill levels and each levels depend on what moves are in it. All the moves for Easy, Medium, and Hard on 'Break It Down' will go to their respective places at 'Perform It'. So I think of 'Perform It' as kind of like a test.

Dance Battle is basically you switching spots and see who earns more points in "Perform It". You dance, and in about the middle you switch spots. Person with higher points wins. Each person can setup there own difficulty level on the song. It does not have to both be the same one.

Leaderboard is basically seeing how high you are in rank on this dancing game. (The more you dance, the higher up in rank you'll get).

You can view your stats, options, and even get the opportunity to buy new dances at the title screen.

I give this game an 8.0 because the Kinect doesn't ALWAYS track the movements exactly right and may cause some people to be frustrated when it says your failing a move that you've done correct. Not only that but all the songs they give you are old. To have to buy a song that's not from 2006 seems kind of like a waste of money to me.

Not concerned about Viz, but I'm working on video editing and got my hands on a professional boom mic and video editing software. Are video reviews allowed?
