POKEMON BREEDING GUIDE (GENERATION III)

Breeding in the Advance Generations is pretty much the same as breeding in Gold, Silver and Crystal, but there are a few changes. So let's find out how to breed in Ruby, Sapphire & Emerald, and FireRed & LeafGreen!
Basics

If you are playing Pokemon Ruby, Sapphire or Emerald, the Breeding Center can be found on Route 117.

If you are playing Pokemon FireRed or LeafGreen, the Breeding Center can be found on Island #4.

You will need to give your Pokemon to the Lady inside. As in GSC, you need two compatible Pokemon. Firstly, you need a male and a female with one egg group in common (Check the Pokedex). After a certain number of steps an egg will be produced - this is dependant on the trainer numbers and the Pokemon species. After even more steps it will finally hatch. It will be level 5 and it will be in the same family as the FEMALE pokemon, in the lowest evolutionary stage. There are four exceptions to this:
- A baby hatched from a Nidoran F's egg will be either Nidoran M or Nidoran F.
- A baby hatched from an Illumise's egg will be either Illumise or Volbeat.
- A baby hatched from an Azumarill's or Marill's egg will usually be Marill. See below for more details.
- A baby hatched from a Wobbuffet's egg will usually be Wobbuffet. See below for more details.

While the two Pokemon are in the daycare, you can check on the chances of getting an egg. Talk to the old man outside and he will tell you one of four things:
- "They seem to get along very well" There is a 70% chance of producing an egg.
- "They seem to get along" There is a 50% chance of producing an egg.
- "They don't seem to like each other" There is a 20% chance of producing an egg.
- "They prefer to play with other Pokemon than each other" There is a 0% chance of producing an egg.
The trigger for getting your egg occurs every 256 steps, so after you have taken that many steps, check back to the daycare center to see if an egg has been produced.

Azurill & Wynaut

Breeding two Marills or Azumarills will produce a Marill. Similarly breeding two Wobbuffets will produce more Wobbuffets!

In order to produce an Azurill, one of the parents must be holding Sea Incense

Similarly, in order to get Wynaut, one of the parents must

Remember

You can´t Breed an egg with a Legendary Pokemon.

You left out Egg Groups:
http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Egg_group

You don't have to have two of the same Pokemon or one and a Ditto. If you have two Pokemon that are from the same Egg Group, then you will get an egg that contains the same Pokemon as the female parent.

Ex.
Bayleef and Oddish are both in the Plant Egg Group. If you put a female Bayleef and a male Oddish in the day care, you will get an egg that contains a Chikorita (from Bayleef).

Another fast way to get an egg to hatch in R/S/E is to get the Acro Bike and find one of the mud hills that you can only climb with a Mach Bike.

If you hold Up while at the bottom of the hill, the player will constantly try to move up the hill and fall back down. These count as steps towards hatching the egg. With the speed up button, it is a lot faster and simpler. You can also do this on the regular cartridges, but it takes longer since you don't have the Speed-Up button.
