Windows 7 probably isn't your problem. Your problem is probably that you don't have the hardware to run it well or you have some options turned on that you don't need on with your current hardware. Or you have viruses/spyware. If your HDD is full that can slow down your computer too.

I'm guessing you are running up-to-date antivirus etc, seems like maybe something got around that?

Like I say I haven't had a chance to mess with 7 much, but with a Quad Core and 6 GB of RAM you should be ok, unless your graphics card is terrible (which from the 4.3 it seems like it's a solid card as well). Based on what I've heard/ read Windows 7 is less resource hungry than Vista. If 7 ends up chugging for me, then I'll have to change my opinion haha.
