i have seen the intro they remade with new graphics and it was amazing.it would definately be worthwile in considering a remake, but only if they could resist the temptation to alter the story line or the characters. if they did decide to a remake they would undoubtably have to secure it for a multi platform release as many sony customers switched to xbox whent he 360 and ps3 was newly released. that would be another issue to address, should they just remain with sony or release it for all platforms?

I don't think Final Fantasy VII should be remade, because in my opinion, nothing can beat the original! Look at all the recent horror movie remakes like Friday the 13th & Halloween, did they do as good as the originals, no. Yes the graphics would be way better the the Playstaion graphics, but graphics don't really matter to me, what matters is whether I enjoy the game or not. I really enjoyed the original Playstation version of Final Fantasy VII with it's bad graphics, and I'd like to keep it that way. So why would you want to remake it?

Yeah i think it should, and i think the creator would make a ton off of remaking it, so i don't really see why they keep objecting to it, unless they're secretly making and just telling us they're not. lol

My only concern which is what the original poster said, they might change it in some way. which would be bad, but i don't think they would, FF7 is a epic game, not only in its story and memorable characters, but its THE highest selling Final Fantasy game to date. Next was 8. I think they should remake it who, but PS3, 360, AND PC!! cause i own Final fantasy 7,8 on PC and would rather play it on there. haha but that's just my two cents.

Meh, they screwed up bad when they made DoC. I think it would make a bunch of fanboys and girls squee with delight, but I don't see it every being made.They've crossed the line in Final Fantasy with XIII or whatever the latest game is.
I would like to see FF9 remade though. Now that would be awesome.

I would like to see 3d versions of FF4,5 or my favourite 6 remade before FF7.  I do think they should remake FF7, but just after previous titles are remade first. Square should open a new studio solely for the purpose of making remakes. They have so many classic games they would never be able to remake them all.

I should mention that I have not beat FF7 or played it very much for that matter. I never owned a PS1 and for whatever reason the PC version won't run on my computer. But I have played every other FF except for FF 11 and FF x-2.

A remake would be a breath of fresh air for the whole squaresoft/ Enix fanbase. As long as it was just a graphic revamp endeavor. We need something good out of squareenix cause the last few years have been a steady downward slope! A  revamped FFVII would be a blessing.

There wouldn't be much point in squeezing the life out of FF7 yet again. Between all the spin-off games, prequels, movies, and the like, i think they've gotten about as much as they can get out of FF7. Remaking it would just make Square Enix seem desperate to cash in on nostalgia rather than expanding and developing the series as a whole.

I'll give the same argument I gave to someone who complained they should have updated ChronoTrigger's graphics and such.

Unfortunately, FF7's graphics were pretty broken. Besides, remaking it for the PS3 would be good, if not because of the graphical updates (I'm not one to care about graphics on a game as long as it is at least 16-bIt) but the fact it would be on the PS3 and much easier to play then trying to get it working on a PS1, or emulator, unless you get the computer version, would be far much better in my opinion. I'm sure all the soundtracks would be revamped as well.

I also wouldn't mind if they added more post game stuff. Like how there is Emerald and Ruby weapon, perhaps they can add more bonuses like that. It would at least give the fans a little bit more fun.



To be fair though, the FInal Fantasy I really want to see remade the most is IX. Everyone trashed IX for it's cartoony look and it's severely underated (I thought the game looked great... Every character has fluid idle animations even). The storyline in that game is better then VII's in my opinion (although far more confusing) and the music in that game was legendary.
