Back in seventh grade I shattered my right Humerus in 5 places and it healed kinda weakly. Today something got me mad and I decided to blow off some steam by punching my bed... bad idea. I slammed down hard with my right arm and heard a "crack". Went to the hospital and found out that my right Humerus has broken again but up near the shoulder blade this time. All they could basically do was give me pain medication because the break is in such a bad spot. Now I have to wait until at least Monday before I can see a specialist to look at my arm and it sucks...
Just figured I'd share that with you all for the heck of it.

10-26-10: Well I've gotten my bone scan done and luckily there wasn't anymore cysts, now I just need to wait about another week for the actual surgery. Need to get a steel rod inserted. And I'm thinking about it way too much.

11-2-10: Just got home from my surgery and I am in some incredible pain right now and it will be a few days until I'm past the severe pain so I probably wont post or anything at all until I feel better. But rest assured, my posting will slowly pick up afterward. And thank you all for your support.

and all because you got mad about something.... it's not like you did something awesome and have a broken bone as part of a story to tell.

Hope everything heals up for you. Hopefully the specialist can get your bones set properly so they heal better this time.

Wow, I've never heard of breaking your arm by punching something. That's crazy. Heh, I've lost my temper at times and put holes through walls and doors, though I've learned to control my anger better now. Makes you stop and think next huh?

Wow. You have one strong bed! It sucks that you broke your arm, though, hopefully you can get it fixed quick.

If that "something" that made you angry was a person, I would suggest you next time punch that person not the bed Besides the bed didn't do anything wrong,lol. I'm just kidding
Seriously, this sounds very bad How long does a broken bone need to recover? I've no idea But I hope yours will recover sooner

Yeah, and it is still basically untreated and they orthopedic surgeon can't get me in until next Tuesday... *sigh* so if my posting spree has slowed down this is why...

That really sucks. What you should do is cut yourself open and use superglue to heal your bones. Problem solved.

Rasenganfan2 : What would you suggest for that. I think the best thing would be a butcher knife or your bed.

No this does sound like it would be serious if you smashed it out of place. I mean a cast wouldn't even help.

P.s you might need duck tape to.

I fell sorry for you. Having your arm busted TWICE IN A ROW? Thats gonna leave a mark, not to mention a bad pain spell. I hope your arm gets better soon.

So how did it go, did you see the doc?

I've been in a similar situation a while back. I had my jaw broke in a fight and I wasn't able to see the surgeon until three days later.

Well lets see... they found a cyst on my bone, well basically the entire humerus, and I now need surgery to have that and the fracture fixed. First there gonna give me a full body x-ray to make sure that there are not cysts anywhere else and then the are going to perform surgery. They need to drill in through the top of the bone and place a metal pin inside to strengthen it and to help it heal. So heres hoping all goes well...

Yea had my first broken arm bout a year ago, actually the arm bout midway between the wrist and elbow just broke and was in the shape of an L and my wrist was broke in 2 places as well. Fell off a ladder F.Y.I. don't lean sideways on a ladder. Took only 6 weeks in a cast but it is still (and probably never will be totally normal). Can't bend the wrist all the way back and the wrist doesn't have the strength it used to.

I've never had any breaks to my knowledge...I had my thumb seriouslly slammed in a car door once, but it was just badly bruised. I was really blessed that day to get out as well as I did.

Man that would really just be terrible. I would not want to be in your situation. God be with your healing.

Just to keep you all updated:

I will be getting a full body x-ray done on October 20th so they can make sure that there aren't any more cysts. Unfortunately they wont be doing the surgery until afterward which means another 2 weeks of a completely untreated broken arm... yay...

He's getting his surgery this coming tuesday I think and I'm dying of nervousness. Surgery scares me more than anything in the world and I don't like that he's has to have surgery.
