Megaman X
SNES
Capcom
Intro:
The MegamaN X series is by far one of my favorites, for it's always just been plain cool, and has had some great moments, music, and of course charactors. This review will be on the first Megaman X, the game to revitalize Megamans popularity after it falling after the introduction to the SNES. Let's do review!
Story:
Another maniac threatens the Earth. This time, the Ex-Leader of the Maverick Hunters, Sigma, has gone Maverick and aims to wipe out the humans. Although when playing the game, there is little story but "go defeat Sigma", there is alot more background and back story to this game. Zero infecting Sigma and so on. I will give this game, considering we pretend we are still back in 1993, I'll give this SNES titles story a nice juicy 7.
Graphics:
Megaman X held some pretty good graphics, taking advantage of the new 16-Bit wave. Although I wouldn't say they weren't VERY good graphics like the ending SNES X game Megaman X3, they were certainley not crappy. It gets a 7.
Gameplay:
Great gameplay. Following the old traditions of "choose your boss", and adding some pretty levels, and nice segments to the levels (ride the cart thing on Armor Armadillos level), it made it fun. The bosses were well done, and adding the search for more health and armor, raising the difficulty some, this game truly stood out more than it's classic 8-Bit elder. No matter how many times I play it, it never really gets old. Plant a 8 on this one.
Music:
Megaman games, each series, contains some stellar tracks to their games. Good levels themes, good everything. This was no exception. Not much needed to say with this one otehr than "it's good. 9 good."
Conclusion:
This is no doubt a classic. If you do not have it in your library I suggest you do some searchin', cause this is a worthy game of any stack. With good gameplay, good music, what's not to like? Ta-ta review readers!
Overall Scores:
Story: 7
Graphics: 7
Gameplay: 8
Music: 9
Overall: 8
