So, while there will be a lot of E3 threads, some uselessly repetitive, I thought one dedicated to Nintendo's Press Conference would be reasonable.

So what are your thoughts on it?

I'll give my thoughts on Zelda: I'm a huge fan of the series. I was slightly disappointed, but simultaneously impressed and happy. Cons: The graphics look worse than TP, I mean common, an other cell shaded? I was hoping for a more serious or darker tone, like TP or MM. Also, this one was supposed to be very different, as Myiamoto stated a while ago "TP would be the last of it's kind". But it looks fairly unchanged to me. Pros: It uses the wii motion plus for 1:1! It's with adult Link. The new item selection system seems to give a good feel. The bow and similar accessories are not point-the-wiimote-to-the-screen. AND there's a whip!

Now the 3DS: WOW! Nintendo breaking new grounds. 3D, with no glasses, on a tiny screen, WITH A 3D SLIDER! Plus it has 3 cameras for chat and 3D images.

Other M: BAM! Awesome.

kirby : Disappointed it looks so kiddish, but glad to see him back. I'll probably buy it.

Epic Mickey: OK. How I feel about this one can easily be said this way: "I love the concept! Too bad it's in a mickey game." I would usually hate a mickey game, but the world and the paint concept seems sweet.

Dragon Quest: Yes! I love the ideas with multiplayer interaction! Looks great.

Golden sun, Kid Icarus: Sweet.

The rest was Meh.

In all, Nintendo did much better than last year. I think the Pwnd.

I'll be honest... I don't really care .

I haven't been up on what the consoles were doing since the PS1 generation. I just haven't cared all that much.

But, what you have described does sound really cool. I do enjoy seeing what they come up with... even if I'm not going to play

Yeah, I was somewhat disappointed with the graphics of the Zelda game, but hey, it looks like it'll be really good. Had some new items(or rather, one new item) and even if the tone wasn't so dark, the graphics are somewhat great. I also wish they had a longer trailer XD
I'm so psyched for Other M too. I'm a big fan of the Metroid series as well as the Zelda series and it's looking great.
The 3DS, and all these new games and revivals(Kid Icarus, Goldeneye, DK Country) officially showed that Nintendo has absolutely dominated this E3.

Epic Mickey looks like a masterpiece to me (What can I say? I'm a Warren Spector fanboy ) However I feel like Metroid: Other M is Team Ninja just saying "We're going to focus on bouncing boobs instead of the real gameplay)

I feel as if the whole 3-D thing has been really exploited when Avatar came out (Hell, I could probably go WAY farther)

Donkey Kong kinda left for me during the N64 Era. While Kid Icarus looks really awesome, but I really wanted to see how the rumored Factor-5 version on the Wii would turn out but they're gone now

The Goldeneye remake is being made by Eurocom, so I can already tell its going to be bad.

3Ds sounds awesome! I'd buy it....depending on price of cource

I submit that Nintendo dominated E3. All the people who ask for more hardcore gaming on the wii, this is the best you'll get from Nintendo, and it's pretty darn good! Kirby, Zelda, Goldeneye, Epic Mickey. They only mentioned Wiiplay for about 30 seconds and didn't even bring up the vitality sensor!

Well done Nintendo.

Other M: Purely epic! I cannot wait! Oh, I think I'm drooling right now...
Kid Icarus: Beautiful. If I were to get a 3DS for one reason, it would be this game.
Zelda : Not quite what I wanted, but still looks pretty good to me.
Epic Mickey is definitely on my list of needed Wii games.
Goldeneye: One word: SWEEEEEEET
DKC: I've always loved the Donkey Kong Country series. Minecart levels return: I'm getting this game.
kirby : Not what I was expecting, but... OMGOODNESS IS THAT CO-OP?! I think I might just have to pick this one up .

I, personally, was disappointed by the lack of Pikmin 3 news . Other than that, I say Nintendo owned the show.

Nintendo's Press Conference definitely was the best this year (followed by Microsoft and with Sony definitely in last, they disappointed me). Game I'm most looking forward to is Donkey Kong Country.

As for the 3DS, that's the way to go if you're going 3D, absolutely no glasses. Sony is pushing the 3D with PS3 but that's ridiculous, who can really afford a $5000 3D TV and than another $250 per a pair of glasses for each person playing (and yes, the special glasses now days for the new 3D TVs do actually cost that much per a pair).

A part of me died during the Zelda live demo...The controls just looked broken, although everything else looked perfect. (I don't care about the graphics.)

But then I watched a demo of the game on YouTube after all of it, and it seemed to control perfectly. I'm guessing Miyamoto was standing too far away from the TV...

The 3DS will be a first day buy if they really remake OoT...

GoogleMe16 : The controll for Zelda did seem off, but it must just have been interferance and stuff; the nintendo team have really been focusing on the feel of this Zelda. Don't forget they have the rest of the year to work on it and smooth everything out.

When I saw Nintendo's attractions, I should have brought an extra pair of trousers. Dang...
Zelda OOT 3D: Fantastic. Finally an actual Zelda game on DS. Also it's a remake of (in my opinion) the greatest Zelda game ever. IN 3D!!!!!
Kid Icarus: I love the great use of voice acting and I predict the environments and characters will look absolutely stellar especially in three dimensions.
Metal Gear Solid 3D: Surprised nobody talked about this yet. Kid Icarus is vibrant but MGS will probably be the most realistic of the bunch.
Animal Crossing: Again, nobody seems to notice some of the best games...But anyway, I am anxious to see what they'll do with the 3D in the 3DS Animal Crossing.
Nintendogs + Cats: I hope they've added enough to make me a proud Nintendog owner again like when I was eleven years old...
Star Fox 64 3D: It's (again) time to do barrel rolls on Nintendo DS (Starfox Command was just terrible) and this ought to be better.
GoldenEye Wii: Epic. Hardcore. Bad#@%.
Zelda: Skyward Sword: About darn time so it's an instant buy is all I can say...
Paper Mario: Pretty obvious what they'll do with the 3DS version.
Lastly, games like Mario Kart and Super Street Fighter IV look almost identical to their console renditions.

Interestingly enough, THQ's Saint's Row is also confirmed for the system. Chinatown Wars killer, much?

GoogleMe16 : The controls of Zelda were off because WiiMotionPlus uses Infared to get such accuracy. There are a ton of things at E3 that vomit Infared.

I think that Nintendo dominated E3. Goldeneye 007 is what made FPS what it is today. Metroid Other M is like the original Metroid games mixed with Ninja Gaiden. Looks like fun.

Zelda Skyward Sword looks very fun, very original.

Donkey Kong Country Reborn is DKC in a modern day time. It's amazing looking.


On to 3DS. These are games they did or did not show.

Paper Mario - This is NOT a remake of the N64 classic. I hope they take after the style of the first 2 Paper Mario games, and not Super Paper Mario.

Mario Kart - My favorite racing game (the only one I love) on the go, looking great AND in 3D!? YES!

Star Fox 64 3D - This wonderful shooter revamped for the 3DS, and in 3D? This game did to flight simulators what Goldeneye 007 did to FPS.

Super Street Fighter IV 3D - SSFIV in 3D and with PS2-quality graphics. I'm not into fighters like this, but I'm going to give it a try when it comes out.

Resident Evil Revelations - I'm going to try if it's a game with the Las Plagas. If it's a game with actual Zombies, then I'm going to s*** my pants, hide under my bed, and cry myself to sleep

Contra - No details on if this is a new game, or remake. In either case, as long as it's a side-scrolling shooter like the NES/SNES games, then I'm game.

Metal Gear Solid 3 Snake Eater 3D - Must...resist...fanboy.... OH MY GOD YESSSSSSS! Uh, I mean, cool. According to one of my various sources, I don't remember which, this game looks as good - if not better - than it's PS2 counterpart. They only got to move the camera at some points in their demo, so no word on gameplay. I'm going to show 2 pictures of MGS3 3D. Keep in mind that this is ALL real-time.





You think that's impressive, get this - in order to produce the 3D effect, whatever is on the screen has to made twice. So the 3DS has to make these amazing looking graphics TWICE! I'm in love.

Now then, to stop drooling over MGS... believe you me, it's more difficult than it sounds.

A boy and his blob - Never played the NES or Wii versions, but just sayin' it's coming out.

Dragon ball - That is all that is known. A dragon ball game for the 3DS. I hope it's an upgraded version of Origins 2. Now THAT would be epic.

Sonic the Hedgehog - That's all that's known. It could be Sonic 4 (I'm hoping) or it could be Sonic Colors.

Final Fantasy - All that's known is that it's coming

Kingdom Hearts - We don't know much, but there are pictures. These pictures show gameplay as Riku. It may be an upgraded version of KH1, it may be an alternate version set in another universe, nobody knows. Pictures:

Ninja Gaiden - It's coming out

Assassin's Creed: Lost Legacy - It's coming out... on a side note, I wonder if it's going to follow Altair, Ezio, or a new assassin. Possibly an assassin that's going to be used in ACIII (Brotherhood is NOT ACIII)

Ghost Recon - It's coming out

Splinter Cell - It's coming out.

Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time - Not much is known, but there are some leaked photos. The president of Nintendo (not Nintedo US - Nintendo Japan) said that they're seriously looking into improvements. Let's hope Nintendo doesn't pull a Square Enix and keep OoC 3DS a tech demo, like FFVII PS3. Seriously, that would be terrible of Nintendo. Especially considering just how outstanding OoC is, and how great the 3DS is. OoC 3DS would be the thing that sells the 3DS for me. Well, all the games are, but I would get OoC without a doubt.














ALSO Nintendo is talking about 3D movies. That means that we might be seeing movies like Avatar, Up, How to Train Your Dragon in 3D, on the 3DS. PSP media player, you've been replaced.

I know what Rasen is saving his lunch money for.... and his allowance.... and his evening job down on 3rd ave.

Anyone here they are remaking Goldeneye for the Wii, only difference is its not starring the original bond Pierce.... that is pretty lame I think. But it's not really a upgraded graphics sort of game it looks a lot different but many things still look similar.

The other announcements are well and fine, but what concerns me the most is the new Zelda game. It looks like a good game.

The whip looks like it has a LOT of potential, and may possibly be my new favorite item, depending on how it is utilized. The beetle concept could be interesting or just annoying, judging on how it was done in Wind Waker.

The blending of Twilight Princess and Wind Waker graphics looks strange. I liked how Wind Waker was bright, colorful, and cartoony, but I also liked the dark realism of Twilight Princess, though it was hard to see at times (maybe it was my crappy TV). Putting them together looks bright and colorful, but cel shading on realistic looking models looks unnatural.

The 3DS looks like relatively small step up from the DS, begging the question "Is it just too soon?". Then again, I'm not one to gun for top of the line graphics. Remaking OOT for the system could be fun, but it's a bit redundant when you can buy it at the Wii store. I just hope they don't butcher it. A new Paper Mario sounds great. I haven't played Super Paper Mario, but the first 2 installments were incredible. I hope this one is even harder than TTYD.


edit: Miyamoto says it's not cel shading, but an impressionist art style. I still say it looks weird, but I'm interested and want to see it.

Lagslayer : The 3DS is more than what you seem to think. I haven't read everything yet, but it sounds like it'll be much more than just a 3-D DS... at first, when the news leaked about it I was like "meh", but now... I'm psyched!

Rasenganfan2 : From what I've seen, the 3DS is clearly as powerful or more powerful than a PSP.

Anyone hear of a price or release date? If it's $200 or less I'll be getting it on launch day. This would be the first system I've ever purchased on launch day and easily the only handheld I've ever looked forward to this much.

Davideo7 : No release or price. Also, just so you see how powerful it is by reading under the Metal Gear pictures. Oh, screw it. It has to reproduce everything (when 3D is on) twice. So it's powerful enough to produce amazing graphics TWICE. When they release the price and date, I'm going to get it. If it's released this year, I want it for Christmas. If it's going to be released next year, then for Christmas I want a 3DS fund from Santa.

I'm assuming it'll be released late next year, probably for the Holiday season 2011 because from what I've seen, Kid Icarus wont be released until next year and I'm sure that'll be a launch title.
