I want inverse battles to come back. As far as I am aware they haven't been used since the Generation 6 games. I don't know about others but when I see a pokemon I think of their normal weaknesses by default but during inverse battle I feel like it actually makes me think about the moves I have to make.

Another good one would be the triple and rotation battles.. Rotation battles especially you have to think is it worth the risk of using this good move against the pokemon or choose a different move or even rotate hoping your enemy will rotate. It just leads to more unpredictability and having to guess what your opponent is about to do.

SonicOlmstead : I forgot about sky battles. Looked it up and there are only 14 of them in XY and most of them are late game and they are optional. So you can't even be forced into a sky battle if you have the elgible pokemon.

I'd love to see more tag battles. I've always liked fighting alongside an ally character against enemy teams or whatever. Sometimes I would yell at them for being stupid, killing the pokemon I want to catch, but it would always be memorable. Especially the format of only bringing a few of your own pokemon (like when you team up with Steven Stone in the Mossdeep Space Center) makes it more challenging.

Gen 3 and especially gen 4 had a lot of these, I think gen 5 had a few as well but I can't recall any beyond that.

Well I fully expect gen 10 to go back to the old turn based style so I'm saying ahead of time I want the battle mechanics of Legends ZA to return and become the new norm I had so much fun battling like it was the anime my favorite moment of the game and any pokemon game in quite a while was battling a Mega Charizard X with my Mega Greninja and it had been a tough battle for my team and it was my last mon and having Greninja hit a Water Shuriken as the Megazard X was coming in with a Flare Blitz that would of KOed me was so epic it gave me anime flash backs but it ended good for me unlike Ash.

I second the ZA battlestyle. It was hard to figure out at first though, I didn't know what I was doing or what buttons to press. I lost to the tutorial pancham lol, that was my only loss as well for quite some time in that game.

It's fun and dynamic. I like that a stat like speed is still relevant to how fast a Pokemon moves and can fire off attacks. I like that strong moves take longer to charge, and that you can rapid fire several moves in a row.
