Look despite what the thread title says, I did watch the Where in Time Game Show when it aired, I just don't have a burning desire to revisit it(regardless of the amount of episodes on youtube), but then again the World game show didn't make us listen to the theme song three times per episode (yeah theme song overload kind of hurt the show....they put the Where in the World theme at the end of the episode for a reason....they made us earn it) also I don't like that they Rita Repulsa-fied Carmen in the Where in Time game show (yeah that's how I prefer to call it considering that World lost viewers to the Power Rangers, it could be worse, they could have lost viewers to where on Earth, actually that would be ironic)

Gameplay and Story: Carmen Sandiego returns to ACME! but not for her job, but to steal the chronoskimmer the only time travel device on the planet (yeah apparently the TARDIS doesn't exist in the Carmen Sandiego-verse) and she brings her Time game show crooks along for the ride (minus Baron Wasteland he was discontinued by this point and replaced with Bugs Zapper because apparently he was too scary for kids, at least that's what the guy that played him told me...luckily he also played Buggs Zapper, I actually found him by chance as he uploaded stuff from Time, he also worked for World)...and for some reason they aren't voiced by the people that played them (why? I get it was probably too complicated to get Jaqueline Hyde to go from sweet to crazy). The Chief tells us what happened and tells us to take the time cuffs, the chronopedia and get in the time tunnel (yeah that's a glitch that didn't get fixed with the chronoskimmer) and an ACME good guide is going along for the ride, of course knowing Carmen she's had a real plan this whole time

Graphics: Once again we have the late (and forever great) Lynne Thigpen (in her finale appearance in the games, the game show would wrap after the second season, making this her final contribution to the franchise) in all her QuickTime glory telling us what happened, telling us about our case, and praising us after we complete everything (you know I keep seeing this thing on facebook where they keeping saying "You can only bring back one" if they had to do one for people that participated in PBS kids shows I would have picked her....sorry Mr.Rogers yeah it would have been a tough choice between those two, Shari Lewis, and the dog that played Wishbone (I can't add people that worked on Sesame street that's way too many deceased cast members and muppet performers) the background art is pretty good too and the way the good guides move (I'll get to them later) when you ask them for help oh that reminds me, the good guides from the USA and World games are joining us (but Nootix, Plomassy, and Yoonity aren't in this game sadly) but everyone got makeovers.....why? okay I don't really mind them but I don't like what they did with Ivan's attitude I mean in the previous games he looked less like a skater dude and more like a techie. We also have a new good guide Polly Tix but she only joins us for two cases which kind of sucks but I'm guessing considering that she looks like she's younger than Ivan she probably didn't get to (I'm actually sorry the good guides didn't make into the netflix series though)

Soundtrack: WHY?WHY? WHY? WHY DOES THIS GAME GET TO HAVE THEIR GAME SHOW THEME SONG IN THIS GAME oh yeah did I mention that if you pop disc 2 into a music player it plays the Where in Time theme song? no one asked for this but the rest of the background music is appropriate for the locations and time periods, hell when we help Beethoven we have the Fur Elise in the background, also awhile back I had noticed that the stock music was actually used in the A&E Special Biography of the Millennium some of that music was also used in the World 96 game

Addictive: I first played the game in the year 2000, and I didn't get to finish it because it wasn't co-operating, and even worse the computer was acting up, all because I had no idea how to un-install You Don't Know Jack 2 (mom wasn't using it I thought it was the reason why the computer wasn't behaving) I didn't get to play the game again until 2009 after I found a copy of the game at a flea market, I finished it in less than a week

Depth: We solve 18 cases plus we do our own version of the trail of time in order to catch Carmen, also you don't leave that period of history until you finish the case, however they do give you an opportunity to start over if you exit the game or log off. There is a jailbreak in there (despite the fact that one crook did NOT commit a time crime in the first half.....why? well she wasn't in the game show anyway but then again neither was Jane Reaction also there was a different Baron....and General Mayhem)

Difficulty: I will admit there were times where I was stuck, hell when I played it in 2000 I got stuck on the Quipos case real badly, and like I said I didn't get to finish it until 2009, but even by then I followed online hints

Post Review Follow up: well at least this game is way better than the game show, yeah said it, because at least we don't have to deal with Theme Song fatigued but it still bugs me that this game used their game show theme song but World wouldn't (why?) as much as I love the game it loses a point because I'm still frustrated about it

This Concludes my review, join me tomorrow when I review Carmen Sandiego's ThinkQuick Challenge

classgame : I do not remember the game show. But I do remember this game. I think it came out in the late 1990's because I remember playing it a few times.
