Personally, I don't see that many people talking about Donkey Kong 94. It was really good for its time, and I found it to be a fun ride all the way through.

An underrated game to say? During the PlayStation 2 era, there was a game that went a bit unnoticed due to the popularity of Need for Speed underground. Juiced for the PlayStation 2 was such an underrated gem and sure it wasn’t as deep as need for speed but the game was a lot of fun and still holds up.

I think the SimCity franchise as a whole is incredibly underrated. The first two games were super popular and went on to inspire a lot of other games like The Sims and a bunch of other city building games but the franchise just fell apart in the late 90s and early 2000's to the point where many of the later games were viewed as bad and even though there were still games being made in the 2,000's, people didn't care for them or forgot about them completely.

This is super hard to say cause I feel like there's several games I think are great and don't hear anyone talk about but maybe I'm just not in touch with their community which makes it hard to tell if a game is underrated but I'll say even though I have heard people praise it here and there I think Xenoblade Chronicles is a wonderful experience that anyone who enjoys RPGs should give a shot.

I'm not sure exactly how popular this game is to be fair but I don't see anyone talking about it outside of its release which I think is a shame as it's an amazing game I wish more people could experience especially if they loved Nier Automata, I think the Nier Replicant remake is an amazing game with great storytelling. I still don't consider it better than Nier Automata but I still think it is a memorable experience that will stay with you for a long time after completing it.

Another underrated game you guys should play is Bust-A-Groove 2. Not to be mistake by Bust a move 2 (the puzzle game). Though I’m referring to the American version. It’s a nice rhythm game using a controller that’s been sold poorly. It’s sad how the price went up these recent years to the $100s

There are 3 games that I think are underrated. Mega Man 7, Kirby's Dreamland 3 and Mega Man Legends.

Mega Man 7, was a popular game when it came out. It sold well and got good reviews. But now it seems like the game is forgotten about. I really liked Mega Man 7 the music, the plot, and it introduced Mega Man players to Bass & Treble. It is easy to see why the game was a hit. So why did this game become forgotten. Well for starters it came out in 1995 and made it to the USA in 1996. In 1996 the Playstation I and Nintendo 64 had just come out. The SNES popularity started to decline over the new systems. Despite Mega Man 7 being a hit it just seemed like in 12-18 months it was forgotten about.

Kirby's Dreamland 3 was one of the last games for the SNES. It came out in 1997/1998 the last year of the SNES life. This game was fun, the graphics were good, the music was good, the plot was good, and its a Kirby game. I had fun playing this one. The problem was by the time this game hit the market the N64 and PSI were in full swing. These systems were selling and stores were putting them front and center instead of the SNES games. I think this is why this game is underrated.

Another game, well actually its a series, that is underrated is Mega Man Legends I and II. These games were mostly for the PSI. Although Mega Man Legends I was also for the N64. I do not understand why this game was popular in Japan but meh in the states. The games had good music, plots, and it was a fun game to play. The controls and graphics were very good. The only thing I can think of is this was a different Mega Man game. It was not like the classical game, or the X game. Maybe Mega Man fans felt like this was not really a Mega Man game. For whatever reason this game seems like it should have done well.

I know that something being "underrated" is incredibly contextual, but it's a bit silly to click on an "underrated games" thread and see like major IP after major IP. I was hoping for stuff a bit more unknown...

LuckyCharms : People have loved Nier Replicant for the last decade. This may have been true that it was super underrated pre-Automata, but nowadays it's practically a beloved home name, lmao. It'd be more accurate to throw that out for other Yoko Taro titles such as Drakengard 3.

That out of the way..

Siren is a PS2 game made by Japan Studio, the developers of Gravity Rush and Ape Escape. More specifically, it was made by an internal unit team made up of ex-Team Silent members, the guys behind the original Silent Hill titles.

It's a really charming, yet very simple horror game with a real neat gimmick known as "sightjacking," which essentially lets you tap into the first person camera perspective of any nearby enemies. It's a bit of a concept game, honestly, and overall has the vibes of a weird visual novel that managed to get the full scale development of a proper game-- just without updating the QoL mechanics to match said scale.

Despite being so mechanically unique and interesting, it received pretty harsh reviews, resulting in a pretty "meh" overall reception. It's not totally unfair given the selection of horror titles at the time-- While being made by ex Team Silent members, this DID release not long after Silent Hill 2 and 3, meaning the competition was already pretty fiery. Not long after its release, we would then see other major titles such as Resident Evil 4, as well as other underrated favorites like Haunting Ground and Rule of Rose, so for something like Siren... It's pretty easy to forget about it, really.

GRAVITY RUSH. GRAVITY RUSH. GRAVITY RUSH.

PLAY GRAVITY RUSH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sony absolutely refused to market this game (even with the multiple collaborations it received) and thus it didn't perform to their expectations. However, it's personally one of the best pair of games I have ever played and always recommend it whenever possible.
