Might be some tv spoilers in here.

No seriously I DEVOURED everything Sailor Moon related in the mid-late 90s, I had the dolls, I had the Moon Crescent Wand and Locket, I had the Moon Cycle(all were distributed by Irwin, which was the Canadian distributor for the toys as they had the rights to put out the toys in Canada but Bandai still distributed Dragon Ball Z stuff), and yet once YTV acquired 17 new episodes for some reason I didn't really care, I guess I was well content with what they had at the time (and yet I was intrigued when we got new episodes of Rugrats and Stickin' Around) well I guess by then YTV's new "favourite child" as it were started airing in the fall of 97 and my interest in Sailor moon started to gradually fade. I have such nostalgic memories for the merchandise that I feel that I don't need to revisit the series (even though I have said proudly "I grew up with the Dic names, I shall refer to them by their Dic names) I didn't know this game existed until 2014, but even when Sailor Moon started up, I still had a Master System at the time and I think Sega stopped making games for the Master System by then, but then again I don't think they ever sold any of the games in Canada.)

Gameplay and Story: Well if you've seen the show you kind of know the story, this is set during the Pretty Soldier Sailor moon saga (or as I refer to it as the Queen Beryl saga) you and the sailor scouts have to fend off the baddies that were summoned by Beryl's Henchman (and woman, yeah I heard that Zoisite was originally supposed to be a guy as well, but I guess they had to change things up for the same reason why they had to make Uranus and Neptune cousins....I kind of like how Uranus's alter ego name sounds: Amaralexis) before you ultimately have to fight against Queen Beryl herself (well at least we didn't have to have a showdown with a brainwashed Darien, speaking of which Tuxedo Mask only shows up a couple of times in this game).

Graphics: Did the same team that made Streets of Rage make this? because it kind of reminds me of Streets of Rage, hell somewhere out there, there is a Streets of Rage hack where you can play as the Sailor Scouts, it should be on this site though.

Sound: You know when I reviewed Quartet, I neglected to mention that the background music sounded like something you could have heard in Sailor Moon (heck in the first round it kind of sounds like Sailor Moon's transformation music) and yet here in this game, I felt it went out one year and out the other, also obviously I guess they couldn't use their Dic voices in this game, but I guess everything here is what it is.

Addictive: I finished the game in one sitting (but not one credit that's not possible).

Depth: I've lost count on how many rounds there are in this game however I know it's under ten. Every time you run out of lives and you hit continue they offer you a chance to change scouts, which is not a bad idea but we don't know their strengths or stamina, they don't show it off here for some reason.

Difficulty: This wasn't very difficult to be honest, but it might be for first time players.

Overall: So this will probably be my last Mame review for this TDV, I'm going to do a weekly thing called Summer Gaming MAME-ories where I talk about coin-op games that I played during vacations back when Hotels also had arcades. I'm sorry I missed out on this during my childhood though as this would be the most I would blow in an arcade machine if they had one on my end of the planet. Oh you know what I forgot to mention I had the board game, it was my reward for when I had to have three front teeth pulled when I was 7.

I give this a 9.4 (Nostalgia bonus points)
