Chapter 9
The next morning after breakfast, Greeny’s team began their adventure to find an abandoned building… using their phones. Bronze suggested different key words for them to use in their search bars. Silver looked up pictures.
“LET’S NOT WASTE ANY TIME! WE SHOULD HAVE THIS DONE IN TWENTY MINUTES!!!” Greeny commanded.
“Yeah, we want to find an abandoned building before some business ghost wants to take it over,” Violet said, looking down at her phone.
“Oh yes, that would be AWFUL!” Greeny agreed, nodding.
After a few minutes of searching, Silver found a picture of a seemingly abandoned house. It had peeling light blue paint on the outside with a creaky brown door. It also had what appeared to be a growing little forest around it. Bushes covered the walls around the door. Several massive and tall trees surrounded the rest of the house.
“What the heck is that?” Silver asked, shocked at what he was seeing.
Greeny took a look at it and rolled his eyes. “That’s
BLINKY’S TEAM’S HOUSE!” He knew that because Blinky showed him at Fresh Fries n Favorite Foods the night before, using Greeny’s phone.
Silver gasped. “Ohhh wow.”
“Now you know why we’re meeting at this house,” Violet laughed. She wanted to lighten the mood that Greeny kept setting with his anger.
“Our house is so much better! And not so disturbing to look at,” Greeny commented.
Back to his usual self, Violet thought. At least we know he’ll be different whenever Blinky and his team are around.
A few additional minutes of searching later, Bronze found a large building away from the busiest part of Booming City. He gave Silver the address for the building, so he could look up pictures.
“Oh seriously…” Silver sighed.
“What?” Violet asked, rushing over to him.
“It’s an old building that looks abandoned, but there’s a HAY MAZE taking up space in it,” Silver told her angrily.
They all searched for a few minutes again and found a large building. Silver thought it looked a lot like the last one they found. Sure enough, it was the same building but a different part of it.
“HOW MANY HAY MAZES DO THEY HAVE???” Silver screamed.
Wow, is Greeny’s anger already contagious? Violet thought to herself, knowing the answer.
“We don’t have time to find out!” Greeny yelled a little less aggressively.
Silver, Bronze, and Violet searched for a few more minutes, thinking they wouldn’t have this done in twenty minutes. Greeny searched with them, but much less frantically.
“Could this be it?” Greeny asked. The others came over to see what he found. He found a building not as large as the one they found previously. However, it had not been used for five years. He found pictures of it proving it was entirely empty. Also, it had a long hallway leading straight to a door… just what they needed.
“I think we got ourselves a winner!” Violet exclaimed.
“And that winner is ME!” Greeny replied.
