Hello and welcome to my review of persona 5: Dancing in starlight. This will be my sixth review in 2019, Please enjoy!

Persona 5: Dancing in starlight is a rhythm game, In which you have to match specific buttons to the timing of the music. All of the music is from Persona 5 or are remixes of songs from Persona 5. So let's join the Persona 5 cast and get our groove on!

Graphics
The graphics for this game are gorgeous just like the base game itself. It's very vivid and bright and it's beautiful to look at. An important thing to point out is that whilst the graphics are bright and interesting to look at they don't impede the game itself by being distracting. Which is one of the hardest things to get right in a rhythm game I think personally. Besides that the graphics are clear enough to easily understand what buttons and combinations to press.  There are also a number of costumes to earn as well, with some going from silly to some being slightly exotic.

Sound
To put it simply the Persona 5 soundtrack is amazing. Now add in some remixes of songs and what you have is an enjoyable track list of songs for a rhythm game. The sounds made when pressing buttons can be changed if you find the default one annoying or you can mute them altogether if you solely want to focus on the music. Besides that you'll often here the characters who are performing their dance say lines of dialogue or have other characters encourage the one dancing. It's basically used as an indicator to tell you how well you're doing without having to look at the score/health bar.

Addictiveness
I would say that this game can be rather addictive. It really depends on how much you want to push yourself when it comes to the game. As the hardest difficulties are pretty insane. There are also modifiers that you can use that make the game easier, for example making it so missing a note doesn't affect your health/performance bar as much or ones that make the game harder.. Like making the notes go invisible. I do feel however that by the time you've completed the game you may stop playing it. I platinumed it personally, And never really found it tedious at any point

Story
There is a story to why the persona 5 characters are suddenly forced to dance. It basically is a tie in with Persona 3 Dancing in moonlight, Where in they compete to see who are the better dancers... which is solely because the twins and Elizabeth had a disagreement on whose guests were better... It is implied that the losers of the dance off will "go to hell" but it never really happens.

Depth
There is a bit of depth to this game, the story itself is mostly integrated into the game. You just play songs and try to achieve the goals that your friends have to unlock their next social event. Each character starts with one and then it usually is a case of just getting more of the same thing.. Whether it be perfect hits. Brilliant ratings on songs, playing songs, combos, costumes or even social events themselves. Like most rhythm games its mostly about slowly getting better at the game and playing on harder difficulties.

Difficulty
As someone that plays a lot of rhythm games  I didn't find this overly difficult. As with most rhythm games if you go into this blind without much experience of other games similar to it (for example the hatsune miku games) then you will find this hard. As for me I could complete most songs on hard pretty easily. I dabbled a bit in the hardest difficulty All Night, but only due to certain trophies. Once you adapt to the way the game plays it gets a lot easier from there.

Final Thoughts
If you like rhythm games then you might want to give this a look, but only when it goes on sale. Or if you're interested in playing all 3 of the persona rhythm games buy them in a bundle., I feel that the price is too high for anyone who wants to just have a look at the games. Especially considering most rhythm games have a basic entry level to even be able to beat the easy songs.

Besides that the games are great in my honest opinion. They are a bit short like most rhythm games. I just feel as I said above that people new to the genre might feel as they've been ripped off a bit.. Unaware that most of the games in the genre either have even less content or are just plain worse.
