I remember reading this book series way back in 6th Grade. I was really into it, too. So much into it that I bought a mediocre game it was based off of for PS2. I got really far into the series, almost finished it. I was in the middle of the last book, but suddenly dropped reading it for reasons I cannot recall. I remember some stuff about it, but not too much. Does anyone else have any experiences with these books?

I'm not a fan of the books but I love everything else.

When the movie came out, I saw it and I loved it so much. I hadn't read the book yet at this point but I figured I'd like it too but once I finished the book I wasn't that interested anymore in what comes next.

I loved a game that I used to play. It was either on the DS or 3DS and I could beat it and then start all over again.

I have a signed copy of the first book though.

I am the opposite of Zanderlex, I loved reading the books (which oddly enough, I also read in middle school), but didn't care for the movie at all. I've never played the PS2 game, but a friend did give me an Eragon DS game which I though was pretty decent.

Overall though, I thought the books were pretty good, maybe not incredibly revolutionary or super original, but they were definitely an entertaining read for what they were. The plot is very reminiscent of Star Wars and Lord of the Rings, although not as fleshed out. If I remember correctly, the first book is okay, but things start to pick up and get better in the second book onward. It's been a while since I've read them, but I do remember enjoying Eldest and Brisingr more than Eragon.
