Kirby's Adventure

Kirby's Adventure - Greatness in a Cartridge
This is my review for the great game - Kirby's Adventure! This game is a total classic and deserves every good rating it gets.

Graphics: 9 The graphics in this game are extremely impressive. They surpass basic and even good and great standards. All animation feels fluent and the characters, background, etc. Are all detailed. There is a 3 dimensional feel to the game that makes it more realistic. While this is the worst rating in the game you have to remember Castlevania, which had better graphics than some SNES games. And remember, It's still a 9, right?

Sound: 10. The music is absolutely outstanding. Many games take an epic approach or maybe an action packed one when it came to music. Kirby on the other hand, took things to the next level. They kept some epic music but had more of an upbeat feel to most of the game. All the other songs were slow, calming and soft, but still maintained setting the standard, which is quite remarkable.

Addictiveness: 10. I am incredibly proud of how this game was built. This game has an extremely high replay value. The game play was outstanding. Yes,it is a platformer but a great platformer nonetheless. It is full of fun minigames,  minibosses, great levels, and a great load of fun.

Story: 10. The premise of the game is nothing any of us would expect. King Dedede has stolen the Dream Rod, an item that gives everyone in Dreamland dreams. While pretty much everyone thought that Dedede was using it for his own advantage, he actually takes it from Nightmare an evil overlord who generates nightmares. So Dedede thinks: either bad dreams or none and decides to take the Dream Rod, break it to pieces and give those pieces to his 7 friends: Whispy Woods a tree with a face, Paint Roller a painter on roller skates, Mr. Bright a sun with a face, Mr. Shine a moon with a face ( Mr. Bright and Mr. Shine work together.), Kracko a spiked cloud with an eye, Digger Mole a digging robot, and Meta Knight... Cheetahmen 2
07-13-14 12:29 AM
From the legarthic creators of Acton 52!
Ok lets begin with why I am not reviewing the bug fixed version. From play counts alone, I was looking at around the 5,000 range for this one and the 500 range for the bug fixed one. So it was obvious what I was going to do. The more popular one so hopefully more people will read it.
So, without further ado, let my review begin, Cheetahmen 2!

Graphics: 3. The first enemy you meet is an invisible guy in some armor plates. They just move back and forth and flick knives around. This game is like a bad Atari game because you have to use your imagination in pretty much everything. Well maybe the graphics aren't that bad, but for a game made in 1992 they are pretty bad. Most of the bugs are graphical too so lets see those. Blocks changing color, stone nuggets randomly appearing and enemies going through the floor. Atari had an excuse for those unrealistic graphics but this one takes it to far. The best sprites are of the Cheetahmen who actually have facial features.

Sound: 8. Most of you might be asking why this is at 8. It is at 8 for the theme song. Which I have described in Action 52's review as epic long and detailed. The title theme is good but is also a rip off theme. I'll talk about that in the extras. The only sound effect is a music stopping purr that is made when attacking. So the downsides are that there are very few sounds. Oh yeah, and a fiercer sounding purring noise is made when hit, along with a short tone made after dying.

Addictiveness: 1. I don't like this game. It sucks I only got excited about playing it because it is worth thousands of dollars.

Story: 5. Dr. Morbis creates the Ape Man - a very powerful sub-human and sends him out to the Cheetahmen. Generic revenge story. Not really stupid but not good.

Depth: 2. All the levels are pretty much the same. Nothing much to say very little things like it's quality.

Difficulty: 10. This game is way to difficult. Especially since it's from... Read the rest of this Review
Metroid Zero Mission - Boss Rush Mode

Metroid Zero Mission- Who's The Boss Now?
Graphics: 10. The game's graphics are exactly like they would look like in real life, With the exception of Zero Suit Samus, who is a bit pixelated. But while the graphics are great, Super Metroid is definitely superior.

Sound: 8. All music besides the 2 worm bosses is a remix of themes from the first 3 Metroid games. They are all improved, but my favorite is the worm boss theme.

Addictiveness: 9. I have always loved boss rushes. So naturally  I enjoyed this game and was easily sucked in.

Story: 3. The story is simple: Samus returns to Zebes to finish off all Metroids. It is not necessarily lame or generic. Still basic, though.

Depth: 5. The whole reason that this review is small is because the game is small. It's a good game but it is very short and simple.

Difficulty: 8. This game is REALLY hard. I know myself that I am not that good at games but I spent 5 energy tanks with all available items.

I know that in this review that it might have been a big deal to see more than 15 words so I will review each boss to make you more happy.

Boss 1: Giant Worm. Super Easy. One Super Missile to the eye and he is finished off even the ram attack is near useless. The pattern of using a ram then  spikes on one side then a ram and spikes on the other. Rinse and repeat.

Boss 2: Acid Worm. With the power grip, you scroll across the room, only to see BOOM! A giant worm pops out of the acid to attack you with it's gripper mouth. The alien Graboid. With the Varia suit this fight is like walking and chewing gum. Whenever you reach an average jump height over the lava the giant beast emerges. Run towards the root area and shoot it at every opportunity. Soon, once he dies all he would need to do was pull himself together.

Boss 3: KRAID. Wow is this hard. It all begins with Kraid coming up upon the screen. Only missiles and charged shots can make him hurt.
By phase 2 the back o... Read the rest of this Review
Action 52

Action 52- Quantity over Quality
Sound: 2. This game has really bad music. The sound effects are also mediocre. The music is mostly just beeping sounds in a random sequence rather than having a true meaning. The sound effects just sound buggy. When they aren't annoying they are "beeps n blips". The only reason that it gets any higher than a 2 is because the Cheetahmen theme song is long and with great depth, along with being epic. It is like taking advil after a migraine. And that is really saying something.

Addictiveness: 3. The games themselves don't usually attract you. The game is just so big it keeps you in anywhere from 1 1/2 to 2 hours just getting through it all. The actual games only keep most people hooked for a minute or 2.

Story: The only story is in Cheetahmen aka Action Game Master, Action Gamer. A claw grabs the Action Gamemaster into his T.V. He helps these mutant cheetah dudes fight the guy who summoned the robo-claw [an evil scientist named Dr.Morbis. A lame story right? Pretty generic I know.

Depth: 7. The game only really gets a 7 in this category is because it has 52 games on it. While 50 are functional [because Alfred in the Fettuc and Jigsaw immediately crash] that is still a lot. So it gets it's 7.

Difficulty: 10. Oh no the worst part of this game: THE DIFFICULTY. While most games get 10's on difficulty for spamming enemies or crazy jumps, this game relies on it's BUGS to be difficult. Oh,so I guess in this game I can fall so hard the air kills me or if a mutant cheetah falls in a pit he will explode into 4 glowing orbs. This game will tick you off more than being the first guy to a baseball game who  doen't get that bobblehead, more than a kid having to go to bed right at the final boss of that REALLY hard game. Absolute insanity.

Extras: Could you believe that this game got a remake on the Sega Genesis The new thing was puzzle games, even though the game is called ACTION 52. There were apparently a ton of ideas ... Read the rest of this Review
Dig Dug (rev 1)
07-08-14 09:45 PM
Dig Dug: the crazy pump man!
Graphics:7. Compared to other  games at the time Dig Dug offered more with graphics, Pac-Man was literally a yellow circle, and many other games just had odd shapes for people, or basic icons. Dig Dug, on the other hand made me get a feel like this was more real the inflation transitions of enemies looked very real. This could also be said for breaking rocks. This game definitely  set the standard for graphics back then

Sound:8. The sounds, while being unrealistic are definitely very good. The sound for Dig Dug's walking, while short is catchy. The only downsides are that the sound of the Pookas [tomatoes with goggles], and Fygars [cute green dragons] are very annoying, and are constant if not moving, and that a majority of the game's sound [that is also fantastic] is rarely heard.

Addictiveness: 10. This game is extremely addictive. And that all goes to game play and sound. Because I already covered sound though let the majority of this be about the game play. Basically you dig through the ground and try to kill all the enemies on the screen. The enemies are Pookas an Fygars [named above.] They run around in tunnels at high speed. Pookas just run Fygars spam low range fire breath. You can pop them with a bicycle pump or smash them with rocks. It is a very simple fun and addictive game.

Story-   . While this game has no story, it is not hard to imagine what happened. Either Dig Dug is a deranged psychopath, or these animals are causing trouble [ruining gardens making tremors etc.]

Depth:5. The game might have been good, but the game is still very basic. It has no special items, only 2 enemies and high amounts of repetition. Well, quality over quantity I guess, *sigh*

Difficulty: 6. The game starts out really easy and is throughout most of the game the only time I really die is when I get tag teamed by a lot of
enemies or when I have a problem with momentum or the pump doesn't do what I want to do. ... Read the rest of this Review
