Donkey Kong is Back (Review)   tornadocam
Donkey Kong Country returns in this new adventure that will be more challenging than the first adventure. Argh Shiver me timbers time to lace up the pirate gear or you walk the plank. Okay in all seriousness onto the review.
Story: 9
The story is good for this game. I really like this plot. From the intro and manual. Donkey Kong is setting on a beach relaxing. Cranky bops him on the head. The big ape ask what did you do that fore? Cranky says back in my day I was throwing barrels didn't get to rest like this what is a hero doing relaxing? Donkey Kong tells Cranky off by saying go bug Diddy as well as Diddy's girlfriend Dixie, and he walks off saying how today's whipper snappers have no respects for their Elders. Donkey Kong is unknown of the danger lurking around him or what is fixing to happen to him. King Rool is plotting to get revenge on Donkey Kong now dressed as a pirate captain. Has his minions kidnap Donkey Kong. King Rool leaves a note if you want to see your friend again hand over the bananas. The other Kongs are stunned. Cranky says I guess we should give them back. He goes on to say this is the worst story ever in a video game. Diddy Kong and his girlfriend Dixie Kong say they will go to Crocodile Island and rescue the big ape and defeat King Roo as well as prove to Cranky that they are heroes too. Okay what can I say I like how Rare did the pirate theme for this game. It has a good plot. The bad guys returning to get revenge on the heroes. Now the heroes have to go rescue Donkey Kong on the Kremlings turf. The pirate theme was a very nice touch. It gives the player a good reason to beat the game. So Overall I really liked how the plot was done.

Graphics: 10
The graphics in this game really shine. The levels have very good graphics for 16 bit. If I did not know any better I would think they were 64 bit that is how good they are. The first world makes the player think they are actually on a Pirate Ship. The lava in the fire level really glows. Also the sunken ship graphics look like a sunken ship. The graphics really show in the carnival stage with all the lights and fireworks going off in the background. The haunted level also has good graphics the way the leaves blow in the wind. This game has very awesome graphics. The controls are nicely done too not at one time does the controls feel sluggish or lag. Like Donkey Kong Country the controls are smooth. Also the game does not lag even when you would suspect their would be lags like in the blowing wind in the haunted levels there is no lag. In fact, I do not recall the first game or even the 3rd game having a lag either. The springs of the characters are nicely done especially with the heroes and enemies. So to sum it up the graphics do not get much better than this.
Sound: 10

The sound is good in this game and really matches the level. Each stage has its own theme. The first world has the ship theme and the music fits that accordingly. The sunken ship level has slow music making the player think they are actually there it fits it nicely. The haunted level has that touch that goes along with the level being haunted. Each stage's music goes along with its theme. In addition, the way the enemies groan after being knocked out if very funny. Another sound is when they hit the water and the player hears a splash after knocking them out. I just find that sound nice and funny. The sound of the enemies is very great especially if they hit you when your Kong goes ow or when you hit them how they groan. The other sounds of this game are nicely done and smooth. This is the smoothest sounding game I have played. I have played a lot of games Mario, Mega Man, Yoshii and the Donkey Kong games. The Donkey Kong countries games have some of the best sound to them. I would say it rivals the Mega Man sounds.

Addictiveness: 9
This game is very addictive. I can remember getting this game right when if first came out. I liked this game then and I still like it now. Just the pirate theme, the killer graphics and sound really adds replay value. Plus there are several things to collect in this game (more on that later). I am 29 years old now and I really like to play this game. I want to think I was 11 when this game came out. So that shows how fun this game is and how it has aged well. It is a very great and fun game to play.

Depth: 9
The depth of this game is very huge and good. Unlike the first Donkey Kong game were there were just bonus levels to find this one has more. Now, all bonus levels must be found to get all the Krem Koins. So players will need to replay stages to make sure they have all the bonus levels cleared and one. The first game you just had to find them. In this addition you have to complete them. In addition, the bonus levels are well hidden requiring a lot of searching. Also this game has another collection in the player has to find the DK hero coins hidden by Cranky. A lot of the coins are well hidden so again requiring the player to back track to make sure they have them all. Also there is a secret level that can be unlocked if you find enough of the Krem Koins. So, this game has a lot of things to collect and a lot of depth to it. More depth than the first game. This game is so big it is going to take a while to beat. It took me several days to beat due to the huge depth of this game.

Difficulty: 8
This game is difficulty was hard to rate. The first few levels are not bad at all in fact they are pretty much easy. However, that changes in Level 3 were the enemies get tougher and the levels have more obstacles. In addition, the bosses at the end of the worlds get tougher. The game really gets difficult after level 4. The last two Levels are the kind of difficult that makes one want to scream. The bonus levels and Coins are very hard to complete and collect as well as find. Not to mention the enemy placement gets more numerous. It is so easy after Level 4 to have a bunch of enemies to deal with at once. Level 5 the way the mist hides enemies it is so easy to get hit and not see the Kremlings or their friends coming near you. So that adds difficulty. I will go on and say King Rool is not easy in this game, he takes several tries to beat and does not have a simple attack pattern like he did in the first game. So this game is difficult and has its tough spots. The only thing that kept this rating from being a 9 or 10 was because of the first two levels being easy. I guess Rare wanted the first two levels to be easy and get the player used to the controls.

Overall: 9.6
After playing the first Donkey Kong Country I was wondering if they could make a better game and they did. Donkey Kong Country 2 has an awesome pirate theme to it. This game had killer graphics and awesome sound. Also, they are a lot of things to do in this game such as complete bonus levels and find DK koins. This game rocked and was when the Super Nintendo was at its peak. Donkey Kong Country 2 is one of the greatest Donkey Kong games. Rare really had a hard time topping this game in their Donkey Kong Country series. Games do not get much better than this. I really enjoy playing this game. I enjoy playing all Donkey Kong Country games but this one is my favorite of the series. If you are looking for a good game look no further. I recommend playing this game you will not be disappointed.

My favorite game of the DKC series   name543
Well, I'm finally writing a review again. It's been forever since I actually wrote a review for a game, so I decided to get back into things with one of my favorite games from the Donkey Kong Country series. DKC 2 was a marked improvement over the original in many ways, including stage design, level music, and of course boss battles. Now, without any more hyping of the game before we even get into the review, let's start off with the one thing that maybe wasn't as good as it's predecessor, the graphics.
Graphics:While I loved DKC2, I have to admit the graphics really never were hugely impressive compared to many other games on the Super Nintendo. They're nice to look at with no glitches I've seen, but I find that the original game had equal if not better graphics for some locations. This might be partially due to the pirate theme that this game tends to use, along with the levels that seem to take place in a location that repeats. Some levels, such as the mine shaft ones, seem like the exact same place except with different platforms and layouts. So some areas tend to feel a bit of the same from a graphical standpoint. This is not a huge problem though, as the colors are still nice and I never ran into anything that I really had any problem with when I played through the game. I give the graphics an 8. They're very good for the Super Nintendo, but I feel a repeat in areas might have hurt it, along with the fact I do think some games on the system did look better.
Sound:While the graphics in this game never proved hugely impressive to me, the sound actually was something I found myself always loving. The music in this game really always managed to make me enjoy a level no matter how irritating it would normally be, and in some places either fit the scene, or manage to make it much better then normal. A prime example of this is the level Bramble Blast, generally thought of to be one of the hardest levels in the game, with many players dying repeatedly in this area alone. While normally this might be an exercise in frustration, the calming music actually manages to keep the level a bit more calm. Other themes I enjoyed were the boss theme, and especially the final boss theme. Both of these fit the tone well and really fit the atmosphere for the final boss. Though there is some contrast, with the Benny Hill like music from Rattle Battle, which manages to make the level a bit comical during the whole thing. The sounds other then music are also nice, with each enemy making a satisfying noise when defeated, and each object making a sound when crashed or destroyed. While it's hard to really judge a game's sound effects, I'd say this one did pretty well with them all. I give the sound a 9, for having great music, and decent sounds throughout.
Addictiveness: As one of my favorite games on the SNES, I definitely find this game extremely addictive. Most of this comes to how easy it is to pick up and play. You have a jump button, a spin and run button, a button to switch characters, and a button to pick up your partner. With these few skills you go through the levels, collecting items or simply just running through the levels. While you can enjoy the game with just running through the levels, you can also collect all the DK coins and Tokens throughout the levels. Collecting these gives more incentive to play through the game, and more things to do if you want reason to come back into the game. If you prefer though, you can just run through the levels, enjoying the platforming and getting to the end. I give the addictiveness a 9. There's plenty of things to collect and plenty of reason to run back through.
Story:The story is mostly the same thing you see in a lot of early games, and seems to be more like Mario in some regards. The plot takes place after the events of the original Donkey Kong Country, with Diddy and Donkey Kong having beaten King K Rool on his ship and repelled the Kremling invasion of Donkey Kong's island. This doesn't last long though, as Donkey Kong is soon kidnapped by the Kremlings and brought to the Kremling's home island of Crocodile Isle as a captive. Diddy Kong gets his girlfriend Dixie Kong to come with him, and they both go to Crocodile Isle to rescue Donkey Kong. They start on King K Rool's ship, the Gangplank Galleon and go through the areas of the island until they finally reach Kaptain. K Rool's helicopter and defeat him. After this you can still beat the Lost World for a rematch, which ends with the complete destruction of Crocodile Isle. The story is not really that great, and is standard for many games of the time. I give it a 4. It's a bit interesting at least, with the hero from the last game being kidnapped, but there's not really anything to surprise you.
Depth: This game definitely had enough depth to keep me entertained for a while, even if there's not too much outside of the main path to do. Most of the depth comes from collecting Tokens and DK coins, which manage to add a bit of challenge into finding and collecting them. Some can be very hard to get, leading to some situations where you spend a while on one level trying to find that one thing you missed. While most of the depth comes from the levels though, there is also Swanky and his bonus games, which give a small amount of extra content in the trivia quizzes you can take from him. Other then this though, there's not a huge amount to do accept for beating most of the levels and collecting things, along with beating the Lost World if you feel like continuing to beat the rest of the game afterwards. I give the depth a 6, for having a decent amount to do for a while. It rapidly wears off though, leaving you with mostly just collection if you want to do something extra.
Difficulty: Depending on who you ask, this game is either very difficult, or not that hard at all. I found the game at a pretty decent difficulty curve throughout. The game starts off pretty easy, and heightens in challenge until the final levels do give some really tough situations. Though, there are some points where it seems the difficulty spikes. Levels like this are Animal Antics, a late game Lost World Level that proves to be the hardest level in the game in my opinion, with some parts that seem downright unfair. Other levels that I thought were far harder then those around them were Bramble Blast and Web Woods. These tended to be far more difficult then levels before and after them in my opinion, and gave a bit of a surprise when I took a while to beat them. I give the game's difficulty a 6. It tends to keep a steady pace of escalating difficulty during the whole game, with some parts that rapidly became harder then what was around it.
Wrapping up: I know what you're probably questioning now. I gave the game such low scores in some places, where did my high score for the game in total come from? Well, it mostly comes from how much I just enjoy the game, which is something the rating system here doesn't rate for. The platforming is truly enjoyable and the gameplay is something I can always come back to. I guess most of my enjoyment of it can be nostalgia, since I played it so much. But I still feel it's one of the best games on the SNES, with great music, graphics, really fun gameplay, and a decent amount of things to collect without really going overboard. I really enjoyed this game, and that's why I gave it a 9.4. It did have it's flaws, but overall I just found this as an improvement over the original Donkey Kong Country in many ways.

Donkey Kong Country 2: Troublesome Review   Fireproof
Donkey Kong Country 2 is absolutely amazing and honestly my favorite of the Donkey Kong Country series. I love that Diddy and Dixie Kong are paired up because this duo is quite troublesome. On top of that, this is a direct sequel to the 1st game where King K. Rool's ship crashes on nearby Kremlin Island after the battle with King K. Rool from the first game. (Doesn't necessarily explain how Dixie found her way here, but who cares?! :D ). Even though this game is from the Super Nintendo era it will still literally rock your world!
**Please note that anything I put into parentheses are like my thought bubble while typing up this review**
Graphics: 10
I've gotta say that these graphics are fun and exciting. All graphics are clear and very detailed and really depict the concept of the level you're playing. To add to that, the levels are really well constructed. Take, for example, the Honey levels which I just thought was very cool. In fact all the levels on this game are extremely cool and when I first played this game, they surprised me with the level of creativity that was put into this game. Animations are no joke either, these really add to the upbeat persona that the Diddy/Dixie duo have. Altogether, it was just sheer brilliance.
Sound: 10
You can't ask for better music or sounds. Even now it's been many years since I've last played this game and I can still remember some of the music that was played in this game (No Joke). I love the music and honestly, it was very unique which added to the excitement for playing this game. If I had to choose favorite songs I'd have to say Bramble Blast was pretty cool and the song where you turn into the snake and jump across the ship (It was really fast and upbeat). Those 2 songs really made the music on this game for me. I really enjoyed the rest of it too, but it was these songs that stuck with me many years later.
Addictiveness: 10
The game is absolutely fun and that alone makes the game worth playing again and again. (Yes I admit that I hadn't played it in many years but that was because I played it a lot on my Super Nintendo and that burnt out (I wonder why)). On top of that, the music is absolutely addicting. You also have a great story to boot and many cool features in this game than there was available in the 1st game. My favorite character of all the Kongs is Dixie Kong with out a doubt. It probably just has something to do with that guitar she plays when she finishes the level and nothing to do with being able to slowly float down (Some sarcasm applied). The game is just all around addicting and if you have friends or family to play with or against you then it becomes even more fun and addicting.
Story: 10
Honestly, I don't think that this game has as big as a story as the next sequel Donkey Kong Country 3 but I still think that this game's story is still just as good. First off, I like that if on the first level you go into the ship there is a random floating message that states Donkey Kong was captured. The rest of the story is about climbing your way to the top of the island to face King K. Rool again, which is probably the 2nd part of the story. The cool thing about this game is that there's a 3rd part to discover at the end of the game. Of course, you'll have to play the game to learn more about that. There's a hardcore story here for a hardcore game and that easily earns a 10 out of 10.
Depth: 10
Now here comes the good part. I don't normally give games outside of the strategy games a 10 because they don't have that depth to them that gets you deep into the game, however, Donkey Kong Country 2 does. What's cool about this game is the all new animals that you can ride and even transform into. I was confused at first but I liked it even though I honestly thought it was silly. The other aspect of this game that I really liked was how much more different the levels of this game were compared to Donkey Kong Country. There's racing and all new bosses where some of them were quite a bit unique. Bosses were even a bit more difficult and not as 2 dimensional as the 1st game. On top of that, the barrels actually rewarded you with something you needed in the game so completing the game 100% came with a reward. It's just so addicting that I would refuse to put the controller down at times because I wanted to finish the game. There's many new elements to this game and for that reason I felt that Donkey Kong Country 2 earned a 10 on depth. This should be an icon that guides game developers into creating new and unique games.
Difficulty: 7
The game is exactly as difficult as it needs to be. The earlier parts of the game aren't too difficult and as your progress it gets increasingly difficult with new elements to get used to. What I liked most is that some elements were actually challenging me to play smarter than I was and I was even stumped on a few levels fearing for my last lives. In the end, I prevailed without too many problems. It's this level of difficulty (In my opinion) that pulls gamers in and makes it fun and with the added bonus of great graphics, music and it being addicting to no end just adds to it. The hardest part about this game is probably later when you get deep into it.
Overall: 10
In my opinion, this game is probably one of the best side scrolling games devised for any console. The reason for that starts with the rest of this review where every part of the game was perfect. You can not ask for a better game and you probably couldn't add anything to the game to make it any better than it was. It is the pinnacle of perfection and done in a very clever way. I have absolutely no gripes with this game. Only gripe I had was the fact that my parents didn't know how to hide Christmas presents very well and I saw the cartridge of this game sticking out of the entertainment center so I climbed it and found this game. Because I did that, it was given to my younger brother for Christmas and not to me which sucked at the time. It was and still is a very great game.
Anyone who hasn't played this game needs to. Anyone who posts a comment to this review needs to play it again! I'd recommend this game for anyone and everyone. I also think there needs to be some kind of competition game for this version and it needs to be hosted on Vizzed. That would be a whole lot of fun and very exciting as well!

The Kongs are back for an unforgettable masterpiece!   TheScarletSaiyan
I always have a hard time choosing favorites when it comes to my hobbies, like anime or video games, as I am very indecisive. However, for probably the first time in my entire life, I can safely say that I have found a video game worthy of being deemed my all-time favorite. After playing through it again recently, I feel that Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest, is the best game I have ever played.
The first Donkey Kong Country game, released on the SNES in 1994, amazed everyone with its spectacular graphics, wonderful character sprites, and superb game play. It seemed that making a sequel that could top the original would be an impossible task, but Donkey Kong Country 2, released on the SNES in 1995, took everything that made the first DKC so great and made a ton of improvements, while also adding in many new features that made the game even better than its predecessor.
In DKC2, King K. Rool, the villain from the first DKC, has returned, only this time he's a pirate and is calling himself Kaptain K. Rool. He kidnaps Donkey Kong to get revenge for his defeat in the first game, and it's up to Donkey's best friend, Diddy Kong, and Diddy's girlfriend, Dixie Kong, to travel to Crocodile Isle and rescue Donkey from the Kremlings. There is a heavy pirate theme in this game, as many Kremlings have features such as peg legs and eye patches, and many stages take place on pirate ships.
The first DKC took place on Donkey Kong Island, but since this game takes place in a completely new area, there are several new environments to explore, including pirate ships, lava fields, swamps, beehives, and even roller coasters. And two allies from the first game have returned to aid you: Funky Kong will let you use his plane to travel to any world or level you've already been to (the first flight in each world costs 2 coins, the rest are free), and Cranky Kong will lecture you and offer you tips about each level in the game (some tips are free, some will cost coins.) There are also two new Kongs in this game: Wrinkly Kong, Cranky's wife who runs Kong Kollege, a school for Kremlings, will let you save your game (first time in each world is free, then it costs two coins). There is also Swanky Kong, who in each world will have three different 3-question quizzes. Complete the first quiz, get a 1-up, complete the second, get a 2-up, complete the third, you guessed it, a 3-up.
Coins are a new feature in this game, and as I just mentioned, they act as your currency. You can find coins hidden throughout the levels in the game, and you better stock up! However, you want to search for more than just money when you're in a level. Each level in the game will have hidden bonus rooms, just like in the first one. Sometimes you'll have to find a special barrel with a "B" on it, sometimes you'll have to find a hidden doorway that you may or may not need a barrel or other sturdy object to break open, and sometimes you will have to find a cannonball and get it to a cannon in order to launch yourself to a bonus. There are three different challenges in the bonus rooms: you either have to defeat all the enemies, collect a certain number of stars, or just find a Kremcoin. Kremcoins are always found in bonus rooms, and you need to collect all 75 of them! In five of the of the game's seven main worlds, you will find a Kremling named Klubba, who will let you cross his toll booth into what is known as the "Lost World" if you pay him 15 Kremcoins. There are five Lost World levels, and all of them are quite difficult, but you will need to beat every single one of them if you want to truly finish the game.
Aside from Kremcoins, each level also has one Hero Coin, and you'll want to collect these two. They aren't mandatory to completing the game, but if you want to beat the game 100 percent, you better collect them all. It's the only way Cranky will ever see you as a true video game hero like himself and Donkey. So yes, there is a lot of stuff to collect in this game, however, while I won't spoil anything in particular, it's worth taking time to find all 75 Kremcoins and all 40 Hero Coins.
Playing this game is very easy to do, thanks to the superb controls. Just like in DKC, you can switch between your two Kongs at will in this game, and both are easy to control. You can run, jump, duck, grab, throw, and cartwheel or dash, depending on if you're using Diddy or Dixie. Dixie has a really special ability though, because if you press the Y button while in the air and using Dixie, she will spin her long ponytail like a helicopter, slowing down your descent and helping you get across large gaps or evade certain obstacles. The two Kongs in this game can also use the team throw, where, if you press A, one Kong will stand on top of the other, and the top Kong can be thrown in the air to reach higher places or collect certain items. If you get hit once, you lose a Kong, and you lose a life if both Kongs are hit. You can find a DK barrel to give you an extra Kong should you lose one, and if you collect 100 bananas, you will get an extra life, like in the first game. And you can still pick up and throw barrels in this game, such as DK barrels or explosive TNT barrels.
Something that really adds to the amazing game play is the fact that you can still use animal buddies, like in the first game. Rambi the rhino and Engarde the swordfish both return, and now have supercharge attacks that can break open hidden rooms in certain walls. You also have 4 new animal buddies in this game: Squitter, a spider who can shoot webs at enemies and also make platforms with webs, Rattly, a rattlesnake who can bounce off just about everything and can jump very high, Clapper, a seal who appears twice in the game to cool down hot lava or freeze water, and glimmer, an angler fish who appears in a dark water level to provide some light. Also, Squawks, the parrot who provided a torchlight in a dark level in DKC, has returned, and you can now fly with him and use the Y button to have him shoot eggs at enemies. But you can do more than just ride animal buddies in this game: All of your buddies except Clapper and Glimmer have special barrels that let you transform into them! Sometimes, you will have to become a certain animal to complete a level, whether it be for part of a level, or the entire level.
And while you play DKC2, you will definitely notice how great the game looks! The graphics are incredibly detailed, and each stage is designed intricately, with wonderful backgrounds and visuals. Some things that stand out to me, graphic wise, are the honeycombs in the beehive levels, the fog in the Web Woods level, and the clouds on the rigging levels. So much detail and effort was put into each stage, and you can tell that the developers truly wanted to make the game look good, just like the first one. Mission accomplished.
And of course, there is the music. DKC had a stellar soundtrack, but let me tell you, DKC2 has one of the best soundtracks of any video game I have ever played. Literally every song in the game is ear-catching a joy to listen to, such as the soothing rhythm of the swamp levels, the peaceful, relaxing tune of the ice levels, and the unforgettable, catchy beat of the lava levels. Like I said, every song is a blast to listen to, and as a matter of fact, I'm listening to this game's soundtrack while I type this review.
I've already mentioned that the levels in this game look great, have wonderful music, and consist of many different environments, but the levels also have such a wonderful variety in game play. In one level, you ride on a roller coaster while being chased by a ghost Kremling in a haunted house, and you have a time limit going. You must hit plus barrels to extend the time limit, while dodging minus barrels that speed up the countdown. If the timer hits zero, the ghost will claim one of your kongs! There is also a level where you turn into Squawks, and have to race a fierce bird named Screech through a field of painful brambles, while trying to avoid a plethora of Zingers (those darn bees are everywhere in this game!). Make sure you come in first against Screech, or you will pay with your life. And of course, like in the first DKC, you have stages loaded with barrel cannons, and you will have to press the button at the right time to get from cannon to cannon and make it through the stage. Heck, one stage is literally a maze of barrel cannons, and you can't afford to mess up, because you're in a field of thorny brambles!
Aside from great levels, DKC2 has great bosses too. No longer do you fight each boss in a cave chock full of bananas, like you did in the first game. Instead, each boss has his own unique environment, and you will have to be quick and cautious to triumph over the game's cast of bosses, such as a giant Zinger, a ghost Necky, and even a flying sword. The bosses aren't exactly difficult, but each one is fun to fight, especially the giant Zinger, since you have to fight him by transforming into Squawks.
I could go on for a very long time praising Donkey Kong Country 2, because it's just that good of a game. The graphics are amazing, the levels are unique and well-designed, the music is godly, the bosses are fun to fight, the characters are memorable. My favorite Kong is easily Cranky, as his lectures are always amusing, and listening to him grumble about the good old days where video games had just one screen is appealing if you are a classic gamer-nut like I am. But the other Kongs are also fun to talk to,as Funky has some awesome music at his airport, and Wrinkly's classroom has some amusingly incorrect math problems on the chalkboard, no doubt the Kremlings handiwork. I mean, 4 + 2= 5? 8 X 1= 9? It's the tiny details like that which make DKC2 so much fun to play.
The challenge level in this game can be quite high.. Beating the game itself provides a nice challenge your first time through, but the real task is finding all the hidden goodies. Collecting every Kremcoin and Hero Coin  and beating every Lost World level is not an easy task at all, but like I said before, it's worth the effort. Not only do you get hidden levels for collecting enough Kremcoins, but if you beat every Lost World level and collect every Hero Coin, you will have beaten the game 100% and will definitely be worthy of being called a video game hero. If you haven't played Donkey Kong Country 2, you don't know what you are missing.  The second you turn on the game and see the title screen (while listening to an epic title theme), you will know that you are about to play a game that is definitely worthy of being a sequel to Donkey Kong Country. Find a copy of the game and immerse yourself in a unforgettable adventure that will never get tiresome, no matter how many times you go through it. I've beaten the game 6 or 7 times, and my fastest time beating the game 100% is 2 hours and 3 minutes. What's your fastest time? Go play the game, even if you've beaten it a million times, and see how quick you can get 100%!

Donkey Kong Country 2: Even More Impressive than the First One   janus

After revolutionizing the world of platform games with Donkey Kong Country, Nintendo and Rare united once more by giving the game a sequel, Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy Kong’s Quest. This time, Diddy and his (girl?) friend Dixie Kong are on a mission to rescue Donkey Kong, who was captured by King K Roll. Candy gave him the haircut apparently…

Graphics: 10/10

If you thought that graphics in DKC were beautiful, wait until you see those in DKC 2.

They are even better than the first game. Both Diddy and Dixie are well-drawn, as usual, and their movements are better – they actually run on the world map rather than slowly walk. I would say that Dixie is drawn even better as her features look like that of a gorilla. She has the strongest hairdo you will ever see: it can either destroy an enemy or carry anything from a barrel to a cannon ball… and over her head! It can even help her float down like a helicopter.

Their waiting animation has even been worked on further: Diddy starts juggling whereas Dixie sits down and eats a banana when they have nothing to do. Even their triumph animation (after a boss or after hitting bull’s eye at the end of a level) is very elaborate: Dixie plays the electric guitar whereas cooler Diddy plays his stereo and wears sunglasses. They can even truly collaborate by throwing the other – very useful to access certain inaccessible bonus barrels.

You will also get the help from animals this time around too. Although they are smaller they are more developed this time around and well-drawn too. Your rhino can now dash and run at amazing speed and the swordfish can swim much quicker. You also have a parrot that throws coconuts around, a hairy spider with running shoes that throws webs to both attack and make platforms to access higher elevations, and a snake with quite a bounce. There are even levels where you “have to” control these animals. You might even see a seal (that cools off hot water) and an abyss fish that lights your way that will assist you (although you won’t actually control them).

You will also get more help from the Kong family. Cranky is still there, but this time his advice comes at a prize – fortunately “banana coins” are easy to come by. There is also Wrinkly, the old teacher that will save your game, Swanky and his shiny Prize-is-Right glowing coat that can make you earn prize and Funky, you can give you a ride around.

In addition, the levels you have to complete are also much richer and diverse. There are now cart runs, in amusement parks or inside a haunted house, swamps where you need to bounce on crocodile heads, hives where you can climb thanks to dripping honey and see larvae/baby bees, ships with high stacks of barrels and underwater levels that make you swim around crates rather than algae. Even the world map is larger; you can’t see it all at once. The Hive level is even divided in two parts: the hive proper and the amusement park.

Furthermore, your foes, although smaller too like your animal allies, are also much more diverse in their form and actions. They can be peg-legged lizards, cannon-ball shooting klumps, barrel-throwing specters, inflating spikey fish or spiraling star fish, dragon flies, crawling insects and more.

Finally, even the bosses come in more diversified forms. While one (the vulture) is repeated, all other bosses are unique. And they move all around the screen too; unlike DKC 1 the range of action is much larger. For example the Laval level has a sword moving around the screen shooting lava stones at you. The movement range would require taking at least 7-8 screenshoots to get the whole image. It’s even larger with the vulture’s ghost form, where you actually climb quite high up on rope ladders.

Music: 4/10

I was very disappointed in the soundtrack.

I saw it again why when I watched the speedrun to re-familiarize myself with the game. DKC 2 doesn’t have the jungle groove the first game had. I found nearly all the tracks to be unmemorable and even unrelated to the levels. For example water levels sound much too dramatic in comparison with similar levels in other games that sound more relaxed and magical. The amusement park levels simply don’t sound like they’re about a carnival (except for the occasional fright screams from the roller coasters) – Spring Yard in Sonic the Hedgehog 1 did it better. Even the invincibility theme sounded lame, as if the producers just slept on the synth and recorded the result.

The best track of the game was the Thorn Forest level, with its enchanting beat that’s very relaxing. Funky Kong’s theme was also good and much cooler than in the previous game – you can even see him surf. Other tracks worth mentioning are the overworld theme, which sound epic with its violin track, and the boss tracks that sounds really dramatic. Special mention to the “Lost World” (a bonus world) that has a very mysterious beat and the bonus level that sounds very joyful (it even accelerates if you’re about to run out of time)

Sound effects, on their side, saw a lot of improvement since DKC 1. They are as diversified as the new enemies and allies you see. You can hear the stumping from the peg-legged lizards, the cannons shoot loudly, the mice were given more attention than the groundhogs and those hard-shelled insects sound heavy even when they walk. However, it sounds like the parrot is choking when spitting the coconuts.

Addictiveness: 9/10

Fortunately, the game has a lot to offer contrary to its soundtrack.

Like DKC 1, DKC 2 is timed so you will want to complete the game as fast as possible. But this time around there is MUCH more to explore. Oh, there are still secret passages like the previous game, but this time you actually need to earn the secret passage.

Be it by destroying all enemies, finding a hidden token or collecting stars, you will need to achieve your objective within the allotted time (20 seconds or so) in order to make your discovery count. In addition there is a giant DK coin in every level, and those usually require a lot of exploration. Hell, you even have to complete the game first in order to access all secrets in the game! That’s why the complete game is now 102 percent instead of 101 percent.

Also, because both Diddy and Dixie and actually interact – rather than being just an extra layer of protection – this makes keeping both alive essential. While speedrunners usually use the cooperation trick to gain time, it’s actually essential in some instances to gain access to secret passages. Plus some levels have character-specific barrels – Diddy can’t jump in a barrel with Dixie’s head on it. So be quick with your controller!

Story: 4/10

Although not very developed, there is a bigger thread linking DKC 2 together.

First, your ultimate mission is to free Donkey Kong from King K. Roll’s prison. The game even starts in K. Roll’s galleon, making a nice link with the previous game.

But that’s it. You don’t know why or how K. Roll was able to abduct Donkey, and the levels just go by without much uniting them together.

Depth: 10/10

If DKC 1 was huge, DKC 2 is GIGANTIC.

First, there are 35 regular levels plus 8 bosses (and the final boss) you must get through to simply complete the game. They are longer than DKC 1 and have a lot more to explore – many of them even have shortcuts leading directly to the end. It might be useful in order to come back and then quit once you find all the secrets. But since you’re quite a gamer you don’t just settle for that do you?

There are five “Lost World” levels that are similar to the Special World in Super Mario World. It DOES look like Jurassic Park with its tropical location and volcano. But of course the Lost World is much more elaborate but also much more difficult. To access those levels you must pay Krusha 15 tokens or else he will swing his giant club at you and expel you – there’s no way around it. You get these tokens by successfully completing tasks in one of the 73 secret passages (there are even secret passages in the Lost World).

Speaking of which, this concept has received so much more attention in DKC 2. You just don’t find the secret passage and voluntarily jump in a hole just to save time – even if it meant not getting a life. Here you have to kill enemies and collect stars in order to earn a token or find the token itself before time runs out. It’s not as easy as it looks; unless you’re doing a speedrun you may be in for a long time to get 100 stars in 20 seconds, swim around a dark room with many ways to find the token or kill lizards that quickly climb up and down vines while your supply of barrels is limited.

All these levels have a so-called Hero Coin (with DK written on it) that you must find in order to get into Cranky’s good graces and complete the 102 percent. A few are at the end-of-level target, but most of them are out of sight so you will have to look carefully.

And don’t worry if you don’t get 102 percent after defeating King K. Roll; you will need to explore a little more in order to get what’s missing!

Difficulty: 7/10

The difficulty is proportional to the improved depth of the game.

First, Diddy and Dixie are small and weak. Even Dixie’s killer hair is sometimes not enough to kill enemies – they merely become infuriated and move angrily around.

Speaking of enemies they have become much more vicious in this game. There are far more bees and they are sometimes positioned right where you must jump from barrel to barrel. Many of them are red (invincible), so your parrot’s coconuts will be useless and can hurt your rushing rhino. Underwater enemies are hard too unless you ride your swordfish. The piranhas are more insistent, the blowfish expand in volume and block you and the starfish spin around swiftly while you swim very slowly.

The levels too have become very difficult. When you ride the roller coaster you usually have to face obstacles that require split-second decisions. In one of them you have to decide whether to hit a barrel or not, opening or shutting a barrier. In another you have to hit the right barrel or else your chronometer will decrease and the ghost pursuing you will catch up.

In Thorn Forest levels you also have to be careful when going into barrels or you will end up in the thorns and die. It get even more difficult when you get in the barrels rotating 360 degrees or those that expulse you after a certain time. You can get rid of some bees with the parrot, but since it carries you by your shirt you have to mind your speed or you will end up in thorns.

In addition you will often be required to have perfectly-timed jumps in order to get over large spaces at time. And of course, those gaps are sometimes filled with bees… It gets worse in the Lost World, where you actually need to bounce on giant rubber tires to get over larges spaces covered with spikes.

Finally, even if your follow the “banana trail”, finding all the secret passages will be quite a challenge. I don’t know if having a giant screen TV could help, but back in 1996 there was no way you could see all those bonus barrels unless you were lucky. Even some secret passages will require you waiting for a cannon ball to drop by…

On a more positive note though, the animals have been improved in such a way that it does compensate for the increased difficulty level. If you’re skilled enough your spider can spit webs in all direction, killing the enemies ahead.

In short, platform game lovers will rejoice when discovering (or re-discovering) Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy Kong’s Quest. The graphics are even more impressive than the first game and has so much more to offer – you will actually need to get through those secret passages in order to find others.

But for RPG lovers like me the game will prove to be a frustrating challenge. I preferred DKC 1 as it was easier to master.

Another Sequel to a Very Popular Game   luigi25

Donkey Kong Country 2 (Diddy's Kong Quest) was released exactly a year after the first game in November 1995. To a lot of people this game is considered one of the best platform games of all time. The first game was a huge success, but this one was probably even bigger. I have to agree with the majority on this game. Donkey Kong Country was one of the last video games I played as a kid. I never got to play the sequel until almost 20 years later when I played it on Game Oldies. At first, I didn't like it as much as DKC1, but after quite a few playthroughs, I was now playing it on Vizzed with the RGR plugin, and I liked this DKC game even better than the first one. Here is why.

Graphics 10/10: To start with, Donkey Kong Country on SNES looks like a masterpiece. Donkey Kong Country 2 is even better! That's saying a lot because the first game had 3-D graphics even though it was still a 2-D platformer. DKC and DKC2 look very realistic. I noticed this a while ago as Dixie's ponytail is blowing in the wind. Nintendo made two games that were almost lifelike at this time. With the second game, the backgrounds look even more animated. The beehive levels look really cool, and you can see the larva in the background. I guess the two games are about identical in quality, but this one does look somewhat better with more realistic looking sprites and backgrounds.

Music 10/10: With the soundtrack in DKC2, you get a lot of the same. Players get a game with great musical variety, and there isn't a dull song in the whole game just like with DKC1. I think this time around the music is even better with themes for: the Bramble stages, Rollercoaster levels, Castle levels, Ice stages, I could go on and on! There may have been a few tracks in the first game that weren't that great, but I can't think of any in this one (and I have to think hard about DKC1 also). Donkey Kong Country 2 has an amazing soundtrack with more tracks than I just named. There are too many to even remember, and all of them sound fantastic!

Gameplay 10/10: For the sequel to DKC, you play as Diddy Kong or Dixie. The gameplay is the same as before. The Kong in the front is the one that is in control, and when they take damage from an enemy or obstacle, the other Kong moves forward. After that, if you take further damage, you'll lose a life. You can only take one hit in this game just like in the first DKC. The game still has the same save mechanism as before, but you now save at Kong College ran by Wrinkly Kong. You also have to pay 2 Banana Coins after you save your game for the first time. Funky is back again too, but you have to pay 2 Banana Coins to him your first time also but after that it is free.

Funky takes you back to places on the (new) Crocodile Isle you've already been just like before. I really don't mind paying Banana Coins every time I want to save my game or use Funky's Flights. They're easy to find, and it isn't much of a problem. You can still recover your partner with the DK barrel system, and the levels have the same checkpoint barrels. Although, the overworld map of Crocodile Isle is bigger than the one of DK Island from the first game, and the individual worlds also have more levels than before.

Besides Wrinkly and Funky, Cranky Kong is back this time too. However, you have to pay him Banana Coins for some of his hints. Wrinkly Kong also gives you hints on how to play the game, and you have to pay for some of them too. This is one of the things that is necessary for 102% completion of this game. The bonus rooms also make a return, but you have to play a mini-game in them in order to collect a Kremcoin needed for Klubba's Kiosk. Klubba's Kiosk is the entrance to The Lost World of the game, and it is guarded by Klubba. You have to pay him 15 Kremcoins in order to enter it.

Every individual world of Crocodile Isle contains a Klubba's Kiosk with exception to the first world (Gangplank Galleon) and the last world (The Flying Croc). However, the one in K. Rool's Keep cannot be entered until you get the final Kremcoin after defeating Kaptain K. Rool in the final boss fight. This time around the bonus rooms are worth the extra effort of playing, and they are more interesting to play as well. The game does a great job of presenting players with more of a challenge for these bonus rooms, and if you are successful, it also does a better job of rewarding you for your efforts. The Lost World levels also have bonus areas containing DK Coins. DK Coins are also found within the individual levels of the regular game also. These coins don't unlock anything, but they are more of a status symbol after the end of the game.

These types of coins have been hidden by Cranky, and after defeating K. Rool in the Flying Croc, and then again in The Lost World, Cranky comes out and sees how many you have. If you have found all of them, he gives you first place. The goal of Donkey Kong Country 2 is to find everything, beat K. Rool twice, find all the DK Coins hidden by Cranky, and pay for all the hints at Cranky's and Wrinkly's. This isn't necessary for just beating the game which in itself is a lot more difficult task than before. However, the reward for going out of your way to do 102% is definitely worth it. DKC2 is a game that is big on exploration with its level design, and this is what really kept me hooked the whole time I was playing it.

In the original game, players were presented with a variety of many different levels. You had: jungle levels, mine cart levels, caves, snow levels, factories, etc. In DKC2, you get: pirate ship levels, a volcano world, a swamp section, an amusement park, beehive stages, a dark forest, castle levels, etc. I feel like you are presented with an even greater variety than you were before. As an adult, the Donkey Kong Country games have to be some of the most enjoyable I have ever played because of their level themes, and how they encourage players to explore these levels in order to find bonus rooms that unlock even more surprises! The stage length is also pretty short with some levels being longer, but they never get boring or tedious. I find myself always invested in playing this game through to the finish, and there is a lot to play!

Last but not least, the animal buddies return, and there are even some new animals for this sequel. These include: Enguarde, Rambi, Squawks (now playable), Squitter (new), and Rattly (new). In DKC2, you can also transform into these animals by entering an animal barrel in the levels. With the new bonus system, Lost World, animal buddies, collectables, etc. Diddy's Kong Quest is a very fun game to play. It is a pretty challenging game at first, and it took me a while to beat it. However, once you get through the learning curve, I feel like it is just as enjoyable to play as the first one, if not more enjoyable.

Story 10/10: I believe that the storyline for DKC2 is also an improvement over the first game. Nintendo put more into making the plot of this game a bit more interesting than before. Donkey Kong has been kidnapped by King K. Rool and taken to his castle on Crocodile Isle. It is up to Diddy to rescue him, and he gets his girlfriend, Dixie Kong, to help him! Crocodile Isle is a lot more dangerous island than Donkey Kong's Island! As Diddy and Dixie make their way to K. Rool's Castle at the top of the island, K. Rool runs off with DK to his airship "The Flying Croc"! They have to go through another bramble level to get to the final area where DK is being held prisoner. I could go on, but I don't want to spoil anything. I have to say, this story is more involved than the original.

That game introduced quite a cast of characters from the Kong family. Funky and Cranky make a return with some new characters as well. Wrinkly and Swanky (who runs his own game show where Diddy and Dixie can earn extra lives) now join in on the adventure as well. The pirate theme of this game is also pretty cool, and K. Rool has really went all out as the villain this time! He is very over the top in this game unlike in the first one! This plot really grabs my attention and is another piece of the puzzle to a great Nintendo game of the mid '90s.

Content 10/10: I would say Donkey Kong Country 2 takes twice as long to finish as what the first game did, but that is a good thing because all of it is good. The levels of the game aren't that long with exception to a few, but there is more to explore this time. Crocodile Isle is a much bigger place than DK Island, and DKC2 has a lot more content, part of which is optional. It includes: Gangplank Galleon, Crocodile Cauldron, Krem Quay, Krazy Kremland, Gloomy Gulch, K. Rool's Keep, The Flying Croc, and The Lost World (optional). This game is pretty long, but most of the levels are pretty fun and entertaining. It doesn't feel very long, and the time really flies when you play this game! I didn't know I had invested close to 6 hours in it!

Difficulty 8/10: I thought Donkey Kong Country 2 was hard as hell the first time I played it. I got to the swamp world and gave up. Later on though, I started to get better at it. The more I played this game, the easier it became. I was quite impressed with how much easier it got with each playthrough! That's saying a lot about a game. Most video games suck, and they never get easier no matter how many times you play them. DKC2 reminds me a lot of Super Mario Bros. 3. It was hard at first, but with all the continues and extra chances you got, you got more practice and were able to memorize things better. Not only that, but this game starts out pretty easy and gradually gets harder.

So as a result, the difficulty is pretty balanced, and the game is designed in a way where if you keep playing, you just get better with more experience. Before you know it, you're playing the Lost World and 102%ing the game. DKC2 knows how to keep you coming back for more to see how far you can get this time which is the whole idea behind any good platformer.

Overall 10/10: Donkey Kong Country 2 is a fine example of how to make a good platforming game. The difficulty is something that gradually gets lower the more you play it. There are so many secrets to explore this time around. In DKC1, there wasn't that many, but for DKC2 the bonus rooms challenge you more and so does the game itself. The boss fights are more engaging, and so is the soundtrack! The graphics are also amazing and so is everything else. The plot is like nothing else in the series, and K. Rool seems to be out for blood this time! I never played this game as a kid, but nowadays I've really come to enjoy it like none of the other games I ever played back in the day.

Donkey Kong Country 2 Review   Marcmoney
Overall - 9.8
Donkey Kong Country 2 on the SNES is one of my favorite lifetime games ever.  I grew up playing it and I am so good at it.  It is so much better than the first one because there are some new features that were not in the first one.  I remember playing the levels when I was a kid over and over again and the fun just never ends.  This game is a beast.
Graphics - 10
The graphics are excellent for the SNES.  i just love it so much and it looks so realistic in anime.  The graphics never get old.
Sound - 10
What I like the most about this is the theme musics in each level.  It just brings you back in the past when playing it.  I remember every song in this game, which is why it is the greatest.  The sound effects are my favorite, especially when you hit the Kremling and they say "UGH!" everytime you hit one lol.
Addictiveness - 10
I still play this game till this very day.  It is one of my favorite games of all times, like I said.  I remember losing the game when I was a kid, so I decided to get a new game of it online and played it at 14 once more.  The game was still fun for me.  The fun never ends.
Story - 10
The story is kind of the same, but a little different.  King K. Rool steals the bananas once more AND Donkey Kong.  This is pretty epic and Dixie Kong replaces him.  Dixie Kong is my favorite character in the game cause she can hover with her hair.  People always say why pick Diddy, Dixie is obviously better...not quite.  If you hadn't noticed, Dixie throws things at a distance.  Diddy throws things straight forward, but not far.  Dixie holds items with her hair, which she can't just walk to an enemy and expect them to die.  Diddy holds items with his hands and can walk up to enemies.  There's your difference.
Depth - 10
The game, like I said, has new features that the first one didn't have.  For instance, you get banana coins, which you can use to buy hints, tips, and saving.  This I just hate.  To save, you go to the granny kong (I don't know her name) and she will give you a freebie of saving, after that there is no more freebie till the next world, you have to pay her 2 banana coins if you want to save again.  That is horrible, but I think that is the only thing I use it on, and for the questions that you can answer to get balloons.  Another would be the little quiz to get balloons I just mentioned.  That is a good way to get lives.
Difficulty - 6
I'll admit that this game was difficult for me, but it is not today.  The only level I hate in this game is the Honey world, there are a couple of levels I hate in that level that drives me crazy, but I can still succeed, it just takes time.  Other than that, the game is quite simple if your good at it.
Wrap Things Up...
Donkey Kong Country 2 will probably be one of those games that I would never get bored of.  I have tried it on the GBA when my friend had it and it was pretty cool, but not cooler than the one on the SNES.  I highly recommend trying this game out if you haven't yet, it is one of the best Donkey Kong games ever! :)

Review for DKC2   IgorBird122
This game is really interesting to play. This is the 2nd game from the original Donkey Kong Country trilogy.
The Graphics:
The Graphics are pretty nice for the SNES, although some of the graphics in the game does have quite a few flaws with them, but other than those flaws, this game does have quite a bit of good graphics.
I give this an 8 out of 10
----------
The Sound/Music:
The Sound effects are great, mostly with a lot of different things added in this game than we seen in the last DKC game, although we got a couple things from that game in this game as well which is nice to hear.
As for the music, the music in this game is really awesome to listen to, each of the songs really go with the level you're playing which does make the level unique.
I give this a 9 out of 10
----------
The Addictiveness:
The addiction level is at a really high point (just like the last game), For this game, I really love to play this game over and over mostly because I really love playing the DKC games and the 2nd game in the trilogy is no different, it's an awesome game to keep on playing.
I give this a perfect 10 out of 10.
----------
The Story:
The story took place after the events of Donkey Kong Country taken place, Donkey Kong was relaxing from all the events that happened, and then, Kaptain K. Rool came and kidnapped Donkey Kong. Once Diddy Kong seen a note that Donkey is in trouble, him and Dixie decided to hunt down Kaptain K. Rool and rescue Donkey Kong once again.
For the Story, I give it a 9 out of 10.
----------
The Depth:
They're a lot more Depths into this game than in the last game, in this game, you can hear more hints from Cranky Kong, you can play a mini-game to get more lives (it's mostly one of those quiz games on the series)., or the player can just choose to play the levels on the game, so pretty much a whole lot to choose from on this game for the player to do.
I give this a perfect 10 out of 10.
----------
The Difficulty:
For the difficulty, if you haven't played this game before, this game can be pretty difficult on you in a hurry, but if you're used to playing this game, you pretty much know where everything is and the game will be pretty easy to play.
I give this game a 8 out of 10.
----------
Overall:
Overall for the things I have to say for this game, this game is a great, interesting game to try out for yourselves, mostly after you played the 1st Donkey Kong Country game and want to continue the series with the 2nd game, you can see it for yourself by trying out this game, even if you haven't played the 1st game, you can still try out this game, it's a really fun game to play.
Overall, I give this game a 9 out of 10

I have a long history with this game It was one of the very first games I have ever played and one of the best. In my opinion it is the best Donkey Kong country game ever made. The graphics were improved from the first game and they added a new style of game play by taking away DK and adding Diddy and Dixie which made the game run smoother and faster than the first and third game. The sound of the game was great sounds were crisp and realistic in a way that made you feel like you were in the game, also the music was great I will never ever forget the music when the rare sign appeared when starting the game. If you have a history with Donkey Kong country you will definently come upon this game again even if you played it before if you haven't played this game and are just reading my review for the heck of it then what are you waiting for go play it. The games has Mario story written all over it but instead of a princess you are trying to save the hero DK that's different you even have the super Mario world like world. The game gives you plenty to do you won't be done by just beating the game you need to find all the bonus levels and hero coin's to have a fully completed game and be the best hero. In this game they amped up the difficulty a lot from the first game, they made the game extremely hard in my opinion. This game is highly recommended to play. Thank you for reading my review

Donkey Kong Country 2 - Diddy's Kong Quest Box Description

Okay kid, wipe that drool off your chin and listen up if you really want to learn something about this game. Sure, it's got newfangled computer graphics and what Diddy calls stereo sound that "rocks heavily and with little resistance!" BUT, the game play? Well, they FINALLY added some proper challenge to the game - a snap for me of course. AND THE STORY? You sure ask a lot of questions, kid! Kaptain K. Rool and his cruelest cut-throat Kremlings have kidnapped that flea-bitten ape Donkey Kong. I figured I'd rescue him when the little pip-squeak DIDDY pops up along with his girlfriend, and they head off fixin' to prove themselves heroes or something. Come to think of it, I haven't laid eyes on those two for quite a while. I just may have to help them out after all!

Once you get half way through \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\"Screech\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s Sprint\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\" you will transform into the bird, and, normally, you will fly up to Screech and the race will start. If you come up right behind Screech to where the race will not start yet, and you fly upwards (you must have both characters at this point for this to work), you will then hit the the ceiling and hurt yourself causeing yourself to blink. Quickly, while you are still blinking, pass Screech and head off to the rest of the level without having to worry about doing it in good time.

Okay, I'm not sure if it's just me, but when I played this game, none of the world or level names showed up on screen. How am I supposed to know whether I have everything in the level or not if I can't even see the progress I have on each level?
TheScarletSaiyan 07-05-13 - 02:47 PM

Now this game is a classic! This is one of my favorites, although collecting the collectables could get a little hard without help. All in all, this is a great addition in the series of Donkey Kong Country! One funny thing is the error in the title.

@Kizza, You press F2 to save where your game is currently at, or find the old lady in the game to save.

Never mind, I fixed the problem, but the games have a lot of freezing up and slowdown. Does anybody know how to fix that?
