Before you read on or reply, please note that this is NOT an attack on anyone. I fully understand that what had happened tonight partly has to do with my actions. This is just my thoughts on how it is handled. I wasn't going to make a post about this, but this is the most efficent way to get out your thoughts rather than PM'ing 10,000 different people. Think of this more as a suggestion post. I don't care if I get 10,000 dislikes on this thread or whatever. I felt the need to post this.

Several days ago, I posted something in the Video Game Facts thread that I already had posted a long time ago. This is a mistake that I'm sure plenty of people make once in a while, especially with big threads like that. Naturally, I got a warning.

A couple days after that, I negelcted to read some rules of Leggy's Dump thread, and due to my stupidity, I got another warning, which I am grateful for.

Last night, even though I read the thread TWICE, I somehow missed the rule that states you cannot post in that thread twice in the same month. This is what got me DQ'ed.

Now, I COMPLETELY understand why I was DQ'ed and I take responsibility for my actions. What bothers me is the reason WHY I was DQ'ed. This seems like such a small thing that at least 1 person makes everyday, I'm sure. People make mistakes, and I was unfortunate to be the one who made the mistake that time. A much better way to handle stuff like this, in my opinion, is to have a system that can ignore certain posts. I find this to be a much better solution than just flat out DQ'ing people for stuff like this.

It seems that people thought I was intentionally doing that, saying I would win by any means necessary. While I would love to win, I'm not a cheater. Cheating is the last thing you'll see me do, I hate cheating so much.

This isn't an attempt to rant about how bad the mods are, they aren't bad. Most of them, if not all, I consider to be some of my best friends on Vizzed. If you have anything you would like to discuss about this topic, please feel free to put your thoughts down below.

People make mistakes, true, and that's why we didn't DQ you right away. We were lenient and warned you, but you slipped again. Since it was a different offense, we warned you about this as well. And then, you made the same mistake again.

If you make the same mistake, we take it as you ignoring our warning or rushing recklessly to post. The first is quite a serious offense, so better discard it, but the second one means you're prone to anything in order to win points. That attitude must be kept under control, or everybody will start doing the same and then everything goes out of control.

The thing is that we don't have to ignore posts, you must NOT ignore rules. Even if it was a mistake, you went over the rules of a competition, and as such you were DQed. We did with you the same we would do with staff, so you, just like the staff, should learn from your mistake.

1. The DQ reason was stupid. I'll say it even if you won't. It's not like you were getting 20 extra posts from what you did. Pretty silly honestly.

2. There needs to be a way to make someone not get points for a day but not DQ from the entire month. I think that would alleviate a LOT of the problems with the TdV. Break a rule once and you're out for the entire month sometimes. Doesn't really seem fair when a lot of the time people only get an extra point or 2 because of what they did.

To be honest with you, with how limited the activity is in the forums, I don't know why you would be DQ'd at all unless you were spamming like crazy in forums.

I do understand that you broke the supposed rules regarding those threads, but there really has to be a better way to deal with these types of situations.

Honestly TdV always stirs up this sort of stuff and is one of the reasons why I was calling for either a TOTAL revamp of the event, or to drop it completely and come up with other events and ways to get people to be more active in the forums, and adding content to the site in general.

Of course Lunar of all people would be silly and outrageous enough to get DQ'd and even more so for creating a thread about it! See, Lunar, TdV is as perfect as I am. Everything is just and reasonable, but when you crazy kids step out of line, you gotta get shut down for a long time so you wouldn't do it again, or post in general. Good thing Vizzed is bursting with enough activity to survive turning people away from the current thing trying to improve activity or this would be an issue.

You can say it's not cheating but that is what mods will think when one is ignoring rules AND multiple warnings for their own benefit and advancement in the competition. Lance Armstrong could play the same card and say he didn't know doping was against the rules but it was and he paid the price for it.

CHEATING GETS YOU DQD AND STAFF IS IN CHARGE OF DQING PEOPLE.

I had no idea users could be DQ'd for that. I've made mistakes like this before and nothing happened, did the mods just recently come up with this rule? I'm not mad about it, I'm curious though since I completely missed out on last TdV.

Oh well, hopefully it won't just be Zander dominating this TdV

Are you DQ'ed from TdV? Dayum, that's sucks dude, i was hoping you'd win it and now i got nobody to support on the competition... Feels bad dude, hopefully you ain't gettin this kind of crap next time

I have to agree with what you have said lunar. I apologize for not posting when I should have I needed to use the right words to say. What happened was wrong you were not supposed to be DQ because you didn't do much wrong, there wasn't enough proof as of to DQ you. There seems as I told you before that there are users that still don't trust you, and still hold a grudge against you because of the past. Of a mistake that has happened. I hope something of that will never ever happen again...

Like I said before, I was really rooting for you. I hope in the Spring / Summer ( if you're even willing to bother. couldn't blame you if you're not ) you'll have another chance at this. 

I can't shake the feeling this is one of those competitions where the end results should have an Asterisk next to a name somewhere ...

This TDV's finish is going to go down as the sketchiest of all time (and I once got robbed of winning a TDV before we brought in the "tabbing" rule), and is completely invalidated, at least in my eyes.

This joke of a DQ would bother me less if it happened earlier in the month, to set the tone for what to expect in the TDV so we could all prepare.

But instead, it happens late, with much more offensive things happening earlier in the month by other posters going ignored. And those things will probably continue in the next week or so, and continue to go ignored.

I'm just going to say that I'm annoyed with how that DQ went down. You probably saw me mention this on the TEAM competition thread, but I've been dealing with the flu most of this week, so I've not been spending a lot of time on here, instead spending time resting in bed trying to get better. If I wouldn't have been sick, I would've put a stop to the DQ talk myself.

From asking around and reading this thread, I can safely say this about the officiating:

I don't understand how any staff+ competing in the TdV could have a say in DQs. It's really not fair to non-staff. That's about as biased as you can get and it's really horrible that non-staff will not even be able to defend themselves or even accuse staff+ of breaking rules. 

In my opinion, if the people who pushed for Lex to get DQed were competing (to win the whole thing, not just a few points here and there) , they should be DQ'ed as well, that is quite ridiculous. If you're gonna win, at least do it by outperforming the competition, not eliminating them.
