Alright, so a lot of things have been going on behind the scenes that do not involve me, but I also do not agree with them one bit. This site is suppose to be family friendly... not a big political popularity, let's get rid of people that don't agree with us, site. I have been a member of this site for a little over two years, and have seen my own fair share of hate towards me, but all the hate that so many people have been getting recently... I can not agree with it. I think it might be time for me to take a break from Vizzed at the end of the month, and come back later, too see where Vizzed Board has gone with all of the crap that has happened recently...

Everyone's leaving me...

Even though I don't know what specific things you are referring to, I understand your frustration. Whenever you have a community of people (strangers) gathered together, you're going to have some people who would sway from the values of the site. The least that we can do is that we ourselves set an example on how the site members should treat other people. checking ourselves before we let other people know that this is a family friendly site. If we are promoted in the site or respected by members for what we do, or if we do form a closer friendship to them, they might listen to us.

If you are still planning to have a hiatus, you'll be missed, and I hope you return soon.

this site is a family friendly site but it doesn't really feels that way.
i do love the site.. And i really hope that you will get back to this site.. i think alot of people here on vizzed will miss you.
i also hope vizzed will change the way you like it so that more people can join the site so it wil get bigger and more a big communication site for people who wants to play online with other people and talk about stuff. Online with people they don't know.
i personally think its much easier to talk about problems to people you don't know then talking about your problems to people you do know. Because people you don't know don't know you. They don't know why your problem are your problems and they are just one big ear(or well eyes) and they mostly listen pretty good.

I think I missed an episode but I do understand your frustration, my friend. I told you before that, whatever you do, you choose or you say, you'll stay my friend and have my support. I hope you will come back soon. I'll miss you. Take care of yourself, my friend.

Bye thing1. I've seen a lot of cases where things go unnoticed. It's a shame I couldn't do anything and nobody else who seen it tried to help. 

thing1 : Yea. I know exactly what you mean. I got two people ganging up on me once, swearing at me and mocking the Christian religion. It was because they peeved off another guy who swore and later apologised to everyone and I forgave him because I'm a Christian. I explained this to the two guys who wouldn't leave this one guy alone for swearing
and they ridiculed me and said that they were thankful that I wasn't American. I asked them what they had against us and there was a pause before they said "Nothing, really."
Needless to say, I LOL'd.
Yea. They were kind of stupid. And never apologised. But then they both started swearing and that's just not appropriate for a family friendly site. If I were the moderators, I would do what they do on other websites and have the comments monitored. Then they could reprimand those who are stupid enough to go on like that.

I don't know about the other staff members but I have very few allegiances and if you report a problem I will look at it as objectively as I can.

The modern world is an odd place right now.
Even gamers can not agree on simple things with the invention of global communication.
Every person needs to unplug.
So take a break and enjoy it "Thing1".
Hope you get your sense of humor back in the process. (Normally it only takes a few minutes with soldiers.)
In your case I recommend at least a week off-line.
So have fun already and give us something to talk about later.

I must be missing something as well. I don't look at the debate forums very often.
However I have spent a lot of time on online communities and I know how you feel. Vizzed should be fun and if it's not anymore, then I think taking a break is a good idea...

if you dislike some things in the debate forum (and sometimes civility has died a death) why not just boycot the debate forum?
Either way its your choice, if you do it you should delegate one of your forum mods to de-facto run it(your private forum) until you make a decision too. You were quite persistent to get it, itd be a shame if it collapsed from poor control.

Well honestly I haven't noticed these issues, which is odd considering how much time I spend in the forums. I have seen two examples of this behavior, but it didn't go unpunished either time. I figure like geeogree said, many mods just haven't seen it, and would deal with it if it were brought to their attention. Have you tried reporting it?

I don't blame you, everyone needs a break every now and then, and in your situation, I can see why you're going to leave for a while. I've seen a fair amount of people leave for the same reason as you, so you won't be judged for leaving now.
