I saw on Bulbapedia that they gave Ash two new friends for his new travels. There is a new girl who is African American and a guy who looks like he could be gay. It makes me think they're trying to use Pokémon to teach tolerance. I only bring it up because they put too much emphasis (in the drawings alone) for it to be as simple as 2 new characters.

I don't have a problem with it. It just seemed like they put too much work into making these characters look more diverse.

Do you agree/disagree/indifferent?

I didn't mind Hoenn actually. I prefered it to Sinnoh at the very least. I just detested the Orange Islands. It just didn't seem important or relevant to me. It's like... ok... Ash wants to go to these islands for some useless badges that will not help him much on his quest to be a master...

Then I remember that some important things DID happen. I think it was mostly the absence of Brock that killed it for me. Three things make a successful season in my mind

i haven't actually seen the 2 new people, except for the girl in the commercials, but it has to be better than DP. Mostly because of the choice of pokemon names. 4Kids basically hates Asia (why else censor RICE BALLS!?) and some of the new names sound, for lack of a better word, Asian, so they will probably either try to change the names of some pokemon, making them look like complete idiots, or give it to some other, most likely better, animation company.

After watching the first few episodes from the Best Wishes Series, I kinda like Ash's new friend Iris. She acts pretty tough and mature. I still think that Misty and Brock also May were good travel companions. Still out of all Ash's friends, I hate Tracy with a passion.
