Sonic Generations Review by: legacyme3 - 8/10
Sonic Generations ReviewSo, I bought the game at midnight today, and I returned him to play it.
I just thought I'd review a few more modern games, and I will only review games I beat.

The graphics aren't amazing, especially by PS3 standards, in fact, one could say minus one or two instances, it looks like a PS2 game. However, one cannot judge the game's appearance as poor, as it effectively shows us the cross between Modern and Retro Sonic games. It was done so well, I decided to rate it high.
Sound - 10
I may be a little biased, but I absolutely LOVE the soundtrack they got for this game. From top to bottom it looks amazing. You can download the OST here. There's more music than is shown on list though, as several remixes and classic songs from other games adorn the list. Also, the sound effects are perfect for Sonic.
Addictiveness - 7
This one can vary. The first 6 hours I played, I was trying to do every mission and take my time, but I got bored after a while. At times it's very addicting and you won't want to stop. However, there are times you will probably just ask when the game is over. It's generally got a good balance though.
Depth - 9
There's actually quite a lot to do. On top of the story, and side missions, you also have a nice online scoreboard for every track in the game. It's more fun to try and beat your own scores than to beat the story mode. There's also a Sega Genesis Controller you can buy from the store in game, (for 7777 SEGA points, which you should have by the first boss easily) which allows you to play the unedited version of Sonic the Hedgehog.
Story - 8
This one is purely based on Nostalgia and not on the actual story. Let me explain. The game takes you to various eras of Sonic History. One level from each game, Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic 2, Sonic and Knuckles, Sonic Heroes, Sonic Adventure, Sonic Adventure 2, Sonic 06, Sonic Unleashed, and Sonic Colors. The revisiting was nostalgic, being the Sonic fan I am. If you are not a Sonic Fan, this will not make as much sense to you, and you will probably see the story as lacking. In truth, the story is the game. Few cutscenes are needed to express what's happening.
Difficulty - 3
The game from start to finish was rather easy. Unless I missed something that makes the game harder, it is a far cry from classic games which I feel were harder. In any case, this game was fun, even if it was easy. Only one part gave me any trouble, and that's because I overcomplicated it and did the part late with no sleep.
Overall - 8
The game is solid. It's perfect for Sonic fans, but everyone else will want to stay away till the price goes down. For a 20th anniversary game, I say this hits the mark. 20 years later, and Sonic is still just as cool as ever.
