Physical Monkey Blast Master Review by: zanderlex - 8.5/10
Monkey BoomWho would have known that playing with a monkey could be so much fun? Well, that's always fun, but then when you add physics, bananas, spikes, and electricity, the fun reaches a whole new level. I didn't know what I was expecting when I first played this game, but I wasn't expecting it to be this good, in fact, I was able to finish all of the main points of the game in just one long sitting and I had a blast. I just couldn't stop playing because once I beat a few levels, I was hooked and I told myself that I had to finish the game at all costs and I did because I wouldn't let myself stop playing.
GRAPHICS 8/10
The graphics are pretty good and I would compare them to the simple het detailed artwork of Angry Birds. In fact, I would say that more than just the graphics make me think of angry birds but when it comes to the graphics, it makes me think of that game, which is actually a pretty good game to be compared to when you're talking about mobile games. All you have is a few small objects thrown around the game such as the playable character which is a monkey, you have the bananas that you need to collect, wooden planks, spikes, electricity, and a few other things, all of which look really simple yet they are full of color and overall it just looks good. My grade for graphics because of this will be an 8 out of 10.
SOUND 8/10
The sounds of the game are pretty basic but they work out with the game quite nicely. When it comes to music, there are two songs that I recall, both of which are very calm and fit the mood of the game, the first one being the one that plays in the menu and the second one being the one that plays while you are actually playing the game. Neither of the songs are the kinds that I really like but they are both good for the game. As for the sounds, there's a food amount of them, you have the sound that plays when you launch the monkey, when you collect a banana, when you end a level, when you die, and so much more. Unlike some recent games that I have played, the regular sounds don't annoy or bother me and make the game just a bit more fun. For that, my grade for sound will be another 8 out of 10.
ADDICTIVENESS 9/10
This game is a lot of fun, like I said it reminds me a lot of angry birds because it has kind of the same aspects to it and I would have to say that the game is like a blend between Angry Birds and those old Puzzle Bobble games. What is there not to like about this game? You're launching monkeys out of canons trying to collect as many bananas as you can while trying to get to the end of the level without dying. This game is so much fun, even if you end up dying 2 dozen times on one level, you're going to keep playing and trying to beat it because its that much fun. I love a good puzzle and that's exactly what this is, ita a fun physics based puzzle game with a whole lot of other features that make it so addicting and my grade for this aspect is going to be a 9 out of 10.
STORY N/A
There's no story. For this, the only thing you're doing is trying to pass each level while also trying to collect as many of the bananas as you can from each level. The only thing that would even come close would be secret levels that you can unlock with different amounts of bananas, but that's it, there's no story so I wont give this aspect a grade.
DEPTH 9/10
This game is chock full of depth, just look at all of the levels that you can play through, each one with its own cool and unique puzzle. You have 3 different worlds with each one having levels that are nit only longer, but also have more traps, for instance the 2nd world introduces spikes while the 3rd one introduces electricity. Also in the first world, the map fits the screen while in the others each level is much bigger and has to scroll. Each world comes with 25 main levels meaning that there's 75 levels for you to blaze through which is a lot. Based on how many bananas you collect, you can also unlock 5 secret levels in each world meaning that you can unlock an extra 15 levels for a total of 90. That's all it has for depth, but a large amount of levels Is good when it comes to depth so my grade for this aspect is going to be a 9 out of 10.
DIFFICULTY 3
The game can be difficult at times but at the same time it can be easy. It's the same as Angry Birds, all you need to do is make sure that your aim and timing is perfect and you will be fine. There were some levels where it took me more than a dozen tries just to pass it while there were some in the final world where I both passes it a d collected every banana on the same try. Its as easy or hard as you make it depending on how good you are with determining what you need to do but overall this game is fairly easy and my grade for difficulty is going to be a 3.
OVERALL 8.5
This game was a nice break from the ones that I have played recently, I either played games that were boring, stupid, or plain just wanted to kill me, but bot this game. I actually had a really good time playing this game and I enjoyed myself with it from the start all the way until the very end and I'm sure that id you give this game a try, that you could enjoy it as well. This game really was a blast and my overall grade is going to be an 8.5 out of 10.
