Munch's Oddysee HD CrimsonTHRAK
I heard about this game back in 2005 in a Game informer Magazine. The pictures in the magazine made the game more interesting. This was released in 2001 in the Original XBox. Back in that time I wanted a PS2. But I missed some pretty amazing games on the XBox. I am so happy that a new game company, Just Add Water was able to release Oddworld Munch's Oddysee remastered in HD. Now it is time to review it. By the way, this was a cheap game on the PlayStation Network Store. It was only $9.99
STORY: 10 [POSSIBLE SPOILERS]
Munch is a gabbit in distress. He has been looking for his a long lost family and friends. One day while whistling (gabbit's call) to find other gabbit's, He heard a whistle back. Much then goes to the surface where he is caught by a trap by the Vykkers. Meanwhile, the All Mighty Raisin tells Abe that he needs to find Munch in order to save his Mudokon Brothers. Much wakes up feeling dizzy to find out that two Vykker interns have brought Him to Vykker's Labs, where two Vykker scientists Humphrey and Irwin place a Sonar on Munch's head. The sonar will capture critters (mostly Fuzzles) who have been caught by a trap. Munch finds a group of fuzzles next to him. The Fuzzles say they want to be free. Munch must save the fuzzles and escape Vykker's labs.

Since I own the HD version, i cant really tell the diffrence between the original version. But I can say that Oddworld Inhabitants wanted to try to make a 3 demenional game this time. The characters in the game looked good in the xbox version, now they look better. I can't really tell level's diffrence to the xbox version. I did notice some texture enchancements in some levels. There is a lot of very nice scenery in all of the levels i like how moving clouds move to the sunlight to make shades. JAW did a really good job remastering it.
Sound: 9
The soundtrack of this game is amazing. The music is ambient mixed with techno. there are a lot of sound effects in the game. In the xbox version, Munchs footstep (He has 1 flipper for a foot) was a bouncing noise. The HD version has a wet flop noise. I liked this one better. Abe can now talk more. The gamespeak Includes more sayings. Sligs actually swear in this game. But it is bleeped out. The Vykker Interns Have a muffled voice. I noticed that there mouths are sewned shut.
DEPTH: 10
I have yet to finish this game. I heard It is big as Abe's Exoddus But with 1 disc. The PlayStation 3 version is digital for now. You can either switch to Abe or Munch, since this is a co-op game. You can still make more Mudokons follow you instead as one. This time you can make Mudokons attack enemies. Munch can attack also only if you have a laser power up.? You can still Posses Sligs. Im not sure about Paramites and Scrabs and Slogs since I haven't done it yet.
DIFFICULTY: 8
There are some levels that have confusing parts to them. This is the only problem I have about this game. The rest is still good. I don't like how too many bombs are planted to places where I have to go. I forgot to mention that Munch can swim and Abe can't still. There are platforms in the water that are needed jump to. Abe can sometimes slip in the water. You still have time to jump back in.
ADDICTIVENESS: 8
This a great Oddworld game. It is not as good as The original two but it is still a great game. I do recomend it for people who are fans of Oddworld.
OVERALL: 10
Despite its minor flaws and difficulty, It is still a masterpiece from Oddworld Inhabitants. Just Add Water did an amazing job on the HD remake. I like how this was a cheap price on the PlayStation Network Store. PlayStation Plus users can get the game for free. LUCKY!!!
