Fallout 4 Review   austipokedude
Fallout is back and this time we are not in the Capital Wasteland or New Vegas instead we are in the Common Wealth so grab a nuka cola and get ready because this is gonna be a good one. As you know Bethesda Game Studios has decided to finally make another Fallout game and brings us Fallout 4. Fallout 4 was released in the year 2015 which was five years after New Vegas released and seven years since Fallout 3. Whether you believe Fallout 3 is garbage or you have never heard of Fallout I've written this review to convince you why you should give Fallout 4 a chance and why it should've been 2015 Game of the Year.
Graphics: In this category Fallout 4 doesn't fail us because the in game animation is better than ever! Fallout 4 once again gives us top notch graphical locations to explore. Fallout 4 didn't hesitate bringing back character customization to create a character to call your own. Fallout 4 also has a wide variety of nice looking weapons and armor you can collect so you can either modify or turn into junk. Objects in Fallout 4 are now given greater detail because in Fallout 4 even something as insignificant as junk can be useful. Nothing negative could be said about this game's graphics for distant objects would spark interest especially if it lead to a marked location on the compass at the bottom of the screen. Fallout 4 did a outstanding job delivering us with stunning graphics.
Sound: The Fallout 4 main menu hasn't changed but knowing Fallout and their history of having songs in the radios they certainly don't disappoint in fact there's a bunch of new additions that you can access on your pip boy. I've enjoyed listening to the radio so much that I've developed a bad habit of playing it wherever I'm in the wasteland even when I'm in danger at the moment. New to the series Fallout 4 seems to have scrapped the idea of having your dialogue affect the decisions you make in quests. The voice acting only varies depending on what your gender in the game and is not that bad voice acting but of course I've found that others disagree with that statement. Although Fallout 4 could've introduced a better soundtrack it's a very excellent game in terms of sound.
Addictiveness: Fallout 4 brings a interesting main quest and multiple side quests and introduces your own settlements that you can create to fit your settlements' needs or even create a place you can call home. Additionally if you don't like the idea of creating settlements you can always buy a house for yourself so it is in fact optional. Fallout 4 brings so much to the game allowing you to explore new locations and occasionally allows you to revisit places you've already been. Fallout 4 does have problems because they make you repeat quests either in different locations in the same scenarios or allows you to play a different scenario in a same location. With that in mind it becomes obvious that you do the same things more than once and most importantly you've got to do those quests in order to do another quest. Worst of all you're given a certain amount of time to do the same quests multiple times or you risk danger to one of the many settlements you can manage. Besides that Fallout 4 does a pretty good job trying to eliminate traditional Fallout RPG elements to make way for a exciting open world shooter. Fallout 4 successfully allows you to enjoy intense open world shooter gameplay along with RPG elements that's its recipe for success. There are some notable sidequests in Fallout 4 just like in former games but you might have to quit what you're doing and go out your way to complete the miscellaneous quests in the game. Good luck completing this game you're in for a wild ride that sometimes makes you feel annoyed at times but that's this game's bread and butter.
Story: The story turns into something special at the end considering there's more than one ending involved depending on what faction you decide to choose in the main story. I don't want to reveal anything about the story because I fear I might ruin it. One of the best parts about Fallout 4 is meeting each of the companions you meet which have a opinion on everything in the Common Wealth. Each feature a mission to go along with their backgrounds as you become closer friends. Overall the story is great and the actions you make affect the outcome of the story I just wish it had more depth. Have fun deciding the fate of the Common Wealth because you're fully in control of it.
Difficulty: The difficulty in this game can be adjusted and although someone managed to beat the game without killing I'm not sure if they were playing on survival difficulty the most challenging difficulty in the game. Playing on survival mode is a completely different fallout experience that's supposed to gain a few more tweaks in the future but as of right now healing is delayed. Additionally this is the first Fallout entry that made me start worrying about the radiation poisoning threat which was a common problem traversing the most difficult location in the entire game. As a result Fallout 4 did a decent job balancing the difficulty in the game.
Now it's time for the best part of this review!

Fallout 4 despite having many problems it has proven to have been Fallout 3's successor but hopefully that changes soon because Obsidian might get a opportunity to do what it does best...publish great games! I rated this review disregarding Fallout 4s' rumored downloadable content knowing that Automatron has officially launched. Thanks for reading this review I hoped you liked it enough to give me some useful feedback on how to make better reviews since I've not made any in a long time I would greatly appreciate it if you did.
