I was planning on replying to this question, but I've decided to wait until tomorrow...

No, seriously, I am not much of a procrastinator. When it comes to doing something (especially something mundane) I try to get to it quickly, so I can devote more time to the things I enjoy. For instance, on days when I have a lot of errands to run, I start as early as possible to avoid heavy traffic and big crowds. I'm pretty much a house-mouse, so I prefer to be at home where all my favorite things are.

zanderlex : I was fortunate enough to get the Echo at a reduced price ($99) when the device was first launched. It is now priced at nearly $200, but I must say that if/when my Echo breaks down, I would buy another one in a heartbeat.

We use our Echo virtually every single day for one thing or another, whether it be for listening to music, news/weather, or just to make our shopping list (which is very convenient).

But, the Echo is always "learning", and it can do many other things, including working as a hub for controlling household lights and/or appliances (if you own "smart" home devices), and even ordering Amazon products via voice command.

I understand that the price of the Echo may be prohibitive, so I would recommend that folks do some in-depth research on the device (including a hands-on demonstration, if possible) before purchasing it, just to determine whether or not the Echo provides the features you desire.

I must admit that I am crazy about Amazon Prime, including Prime Music and Prime Video.

I pretty much dig everything about Amazon. I would be lost without my Kindle Fire (I read a lot and occasionally watch videos on it when I am traveling).

My Echo (Alexa) is amazing, from playing music (great sound for such a small device!) to listening to news and weather, and even making my shopping list.

Yes, one might say I'm a bit of an Amazon nut!

I've worn my hair long for most of my life, because I like the way it looks.

More importantly, my wife really likes it, and she has GREAT taste.

If I had a nickel for every time someone told me that I look like a certain rock singer, I'd have one big pile of nickels.

I absolutely make it a point to give lots of hugs and kisses to the people who are important to me...my wife, my kids (even though they're adults) and grand-kids. I'm not sure that qualifies as "touchy-feely", though.

Honestly, I can't even remember the last time I had my hair cut.

I've pretty much always worn my hair long, and the older I get, the slower it seems to grow.

My wife loves my long hair so that's a big plus!

Well, I've had surgery twice in my life.

The first time, I was very young and I had my tonsils taken out. I thought it was pretty cool because they let me have all the ice cream I wanted, just to soothe my sore throat. I also got to stay up very late and watch TV.

The second surgery I had was in 1999, when I had cardiac bypass surgery. I have no fun memories from that one, but it likely saved my life, and I've been in pretty great health ever since.

In the relatively short time that I've been a member here, I've been amazed by the amount of time that you spend here.

You've more than earned a break, and I hope you enjoy the downtime.

I like eggs a lot, no matter how they're prepared.

But, I especially like eggs prepared over-medium (slightly runny yolk but NO runny egg-white) so I can dip my toast or English muffin.

My wife makes fantastic scrambled eggs, though, so that's how I eat them most often.

Ghostbear1111 :

Well, the type of beans I use are navy beans, either the dried ones or canned.

Add the brown sugar a little at a time while the beans are heating. As with most recipes, the amount you use depends on your personal tastes.

Eirinn :
Yes, a bit of brown sugar in spaghetti sauce tastes pretty good.

Some molasses (not too much!) in the beans gives a rich flavor...but, some folks find it a little intense.

To answer this question, I have to really wrack my brain, since I have been playing video games for many years (for example, I played the game Pong when it was first released).

But, the first game I actually recall "conquering" was a game called Mystery at Marple Manor, a text-based adventure on the Commodore 64.

The game was kinda like the board game Clue, but the absence of graphics made it very difficult to explore without getting confused and lost. A friend of mine developed a map which helped immensely!

What a cool idea for a thread! It brought back some very fond memories.
