I escorted many beautiful girls (which their parents paid for) because they thought the guys were hound dogs and trusted me (as a best friend). My physics class bought my home coming ticket because I got mugged while hiking 30 miles to gather the materials for our float. It was all pretty stale except that one prom got me a Crystal cup and homecoming was made fun because I dressed up like tuxedo mask and refused to speak except the dj (and only to request songs I heard girls I danced with linked). I gave roses (paper ones I handcrafted) only to girls who had no dates or whose "dates" said they invited them for the secret pig party contest, and waltz with every girl who I gave roses to or asked for a dance.

My own senior prom I skipped in favor of a weekend that cost me $5 for a reenactment and a masquerade ball (which apparently I got so much popularity for that people stop me all over the country and ask for a dance, when I attend folk dances).

So I say if you want to dance go find a local dance that is within your affordability and in your style. It'll probably cheaper and will definitely be of better quality.

I agree with geo, I'm currently using my mobile for everything right now. Plus, I believe that the majority of regulars are just starting off on the stable life path, finding full time work, getting babies, work and college.

I know I shouldn't talk on this but I Will and probably tick someone off...

I believe, and to a very certain extant, know feminism is nothing what people think it is. Feminism in and of it self and in name is nothing more than a wing of sexism, the other wing being masculinism. Although, in majority, masculinism prevails and thus is the bigger problem, Feminism also fails to take in account that in the minority that men are also disadvantaged if they choose to follow a feminine path and that women can be just as bad as men.

I personally believe in gender equality, so that no matter the gender identity, a person should be treated equal to everyone else when it comes to respect, opportunity, and law.

Update:
I feel I should clarify how I define gender. Gender is made up of multiple dimensions (which sociologists and psychologists are still attempting to distinguish. I prefer a slightly older model then the more simplified versions of today). These dimensions combine to make up unlabeled genders.

Biological sex:
x (Turner); xx (female); xxx (trisomy x); xxxx (tetrasomy X); xxxxx (pentasomy); xy (male); xxy (Klinefelter); xyy (super male); xxyy (not named yet); xxxxy (not named yet); plus whatever hasn't been found.

Gender identity:
What you feel is your gender based on your experiences. Can be the same as your biological but not decided by it. (Example, Billy is biological male but he may identity as female because he was only raised by females).

Gender expression:
How you outwardly display your gender. Can be the same as your biological but not decided by it. (Example, Sally is biological female but she expresses herself as male by wearing man suits and plays rugby).

Gender social role:
What you do socially. Generally categorized as make and female. Can be the same as your biological but not decided by it. (Billy is a biological male but he is a stay-at-home dad. His gender role is female because females are traditionally the stay at home parent; Sally is  a biological female but she goes and runs a railroad repair shop. Her gender role is male because males usually work to support the family and males are traditionally hard labours.)

Romantic attraction:
Homo/hetero.

First, this is the very reason why I don't like Facebook, but it does -in it self- prove the point I'm about to make. Secondly, I'm approaching this as objectional as possible (aka not what I really think or feel). I do personally believe there's a difference between being a victim (going through something) and playing a victim (acting like you are owed something because someone like you went through it).

I have seen
a lot, and I mean a lot  of different types of people with different ages and backgrounds. I also grew up in an orphanage. That still doesn't make me an expert on kids or people, but it does allow me to point out a few things that others May not see.

On a matter of social maturity: it's completely relative. I have seen 5 year olds conduct themselves thoroughly polite and selflessly, and tell you the long-term (like lifetime long) consequences for acting like that or not. I also have seen elderly people (65+) who completely disregard everyone and honestly could not understand consequences in life. It really is about how much "real life" experience you have. Some people are sheltered all their life, while others have no "carefree" stage ever.

Now the teacher obviously fits the bill of immaturity but so does the girl. Difference is that he knew it was against the law, she maybe knew it was. We can't see into her mind or soul to fully understand what propelled her to do it. He ruined his career, she was just the reason for it.

Everyone from a family with a reasonably caring guardian is taught from a very young age that he or she must own up to the consequences of one's actions even if he or she doesn't understand (you lie, you get a spanking, as an example). This being said the girl should face the consequences of choosing the teacher over running away. As well as the teacher facing the end of his career for breaking the law.

The girl, you said she's 17, is legally an adult in most jurisdictions and legal can make "adult" decisions.

Now for the argument. Anyone who is going to argue (emotionally charged discussion), not debate (none emotionally charged discussion), is immature. People have opinions and each is entitled to their own views, but often times people try to sell an opinion by arguing it as a fact or even try to "prove" something that they really know absolutely nothing about. Facebook is a bee hive of those types of people.

Granted, but the holograms are very radioactive and viewpoints is how much more you can take before death.

I wish cluster headaches could be cured.

Take him head on. Reason #1: if he had already traced me... I would have to fight him to go to the police. Reason #2: you basically said the police are in on it. Reason #3: You don't mess  with a gun owning Marine who grew up with street smarts.

It's mid-1800s and you're enjoying a nice (and I dare say well earned) trip to a port city of your choice. Here you were partaking in a possibly not too decent activity when you pass out suddenly. You come to in a hull of a ship and are immediately and told you have been recruited as a permanent volunteer sailor. After several months of hard work and cabin fever, you find that the ship has arrived at Shanghai. You manage to convince the first mate that you can be sold for a lot of money. Good thing you are very charismatic!

Near the ship, buying/selling goods is:

1. A very beautiful and wealthy looking woman whom obviously mistreat her servants

2. A very rough mountain of a farmer, but well to do, who appears more kindly than the woman.

Lol Yea I remember you too! You got to catch me up on your adventures of Vizzed!

As for talking about things... I love to share my stories! My family member was my paternal Grandmother. As for closeness it's kind of weird. You see, I was cast out of my family when I was younger (hence the "Exiled"). I eventually wound up in an orphanage and the only blood family that visited was my paternal grandparents and a cousin --although they only showed up a few times. She was a very intellectual and loud lady and very well acquainted with the 1% and politicians. You can actually find pictures of her sitting with some governors and congress persons in articles about political conventions. I only "knew" her through these stories and the oral history she'd tell me when she did visit, but she became a fast role model. So she was close to my heart but we had no formal bond. Needless to say, her death still hurt.

I finally broke down under the request of everyone I met that I write a autobiography. I might share it with you guys when I'm done, depending on who and how many want to read it.

It's an ongoing series but I have found is Adventurers Wanted by M. L. Forman. Its a very good adventure/fantasy series.

One of my very favorite series is the Deltora Collection by Emily Rodda. It's a fantasy children's book but adults can enjoy it too. The First Part series was even adapted to a manga, game, and Anime.

I grabbed the pocket knife. It's more useful in a survival situation, especially a Swiss army pocket knife. The waterproof lighter becomes useless after a set number of uses.

You are in a really bad DnD 5e battle against Actual Cannibal Shia LeBeof and the blood of all your comrades is everywhere. Your DM let's you choose a weapon from one of your dead comrades.

Do you take Ascalon (longsword) from the idiotic barbarian.

Or

Do you take Alfred (Bow) from the human ranger?

Hi and Welcome!

I just got back from a good hiatus so I'm reorientation myself. However, Vizzed is one of the best community forums I've been on. You can earn Viz by talking on forums and get quite a few helpful people that are willing to help you out on anything, life or games.

I hope your experience will be as good as mine!

So a lot has happened within the 2.5 years I've been gone. I had an awesome time hiking the Appalachian Trail and working with many non profits in the mountains. I helped people either start or grow their dreams and businesses. I also had a family member die and another one close to dying, and my bio father finally decided to "be a dad", although I wouldn't call it that right now (more like guilt planting).

But I and my wife finally settled down in Kansas City, at least long enough to build a bus. However, that break allows me to catch up with the awesome people that is Vizzed!

Eniitan :

Well, one of my wife's resolutions was to get fit and healthy this year, and I decided to help her out by joining in on the routine, so not much tv time between all the hard work. Plus a lot has been happening in my family lately, which is one of the reasons I've been MIA. Today was literally first day I was able to watch a couple of shows and log in here. When things die down and I'm well adjusted to my new routine, I'll definitely sit down and watch a few episodes.

I like your response. Maybe you'll find it just as interesting as me when you see that before Holy Water it was Prayer and Fasting (Mark 9:17-29).  No how it went from Praying and self starvation to Holy Water, beats me.

XD but thanks for reminding me of that. Now the next time a Christian says "You/he/she has a Demon", I'm going to respond with, "Then pray and starve yourself for me/him/her!"

Ok, laws can be crazy sometimes. I must have missed that ruling. They say that no citizen can claim to be ignorant of the the law but it is darn hard to keep up. But that makes so much since now that the state has the power to over rule, since it's a JC decision and not an actual law. Not saying that the JC is not the law!

Thanks for helping me out with this one!

I hate being ignorant. If I don't know anything I must know about it. So here's what's going on:

I've been pretty much debating all day about the right of the Federal Court to prohibit recordings and broadcasting in the courtroom. I'm aware that they may stop you at the door but, as to my knowledge, they have no legal right to do that in Civil cases just criminal trial cases. So far no one has provided proof against my claim and I'm curious as to if there even is proof against it. I have got a lot of "you fool", "the judges say this/that", and "prove it or shut up" (which I think I did proof my argument), but nothing concrete.

The only law that I know of that states prohibition and it is a Criminal trial law.

I beseech anyone who knows their stuff to correct me if I'm wrong about my claim on having the right to record or Broadcast in Federal Civil Cases by referring to me any law or Supreme court ruling.

Thanks in advance for the help.

The big court case over the Monuments is tomorrow at 9:30 am CDT. It'll be covered LIVE on the Internet. If no one post after me I'll update this post when the live feed comes out so that whoever is interested can keep up.

UPDATE:
Live Feed of Court case.  It appears to not be an actual LIVE feed but rather just randomly posted sections of the records.

Janus:

All of the statues, except the 'Battle of Liberty Place Obelisk', was paid for by private groups.

Mangepic:

The 'Battle of Liberty Place Obelisk' (Erected in 1932 --between WWI and WWII) originally contained a statement contributing the victory to the US government to white supremacy and allowing the white citizens to control the city. This isn't a huge deal during that time since, as per my above post, this was a belief held by the entire nation --not just the South-- and was at its strongest during the World Wars.

In 1974, the City of New Orleans posted a 'disclaimer' stating that the white supremacy statement does not reflect current views of present day beliefs.

In 1993 (23 years ago), the City of New Orleans, with approval of the major historian organizations, revised the Plaque and removed the racial statements and added "In honor of those Americans on both sides who died in the Battle of Liberty Place ... A conflict of the past that should teach us lessons for the future."

The battle was actually a very bad riot gone wrong (imagine the Baltimore riots with guns and canons and you'll get a small taste). It was started over the fact that the Congress instated government (no one got to vote), was stealing private land and residencies for government use, public funds (they started the first lottery and said they were using it for state repairs but the officials were pocketing the money), blocking blacks from starting businesses (which profited the black L. Governor who was the richest in the state), and many other things --all illegal and against the Constitution. This was the last of many riots that were started over many different things. One riot even started when a Union platoon (700 black soldier) through out a dead girl's body (during a funeral) when they confiscated a house; this caused a riot of 100~ ex-confederate soldiers (including 10 cavalry and 4 canons) and ended with the slaughter of the entire Union platoon.

Basically, the whites in Louisiana reacted the same way blacks and racial protesters are now --minus the guns and canons.

So my question is: Why would the Mayor want to tear down a monument that literally says we messed up and need to learn from the mistake and is reminding us of the same stupid mistake we are making now --letting Racial hatred and sensitivity get in the way of real social improvement?
