Also, if you need a proxy for the recording (since the recording process can cause input lag on the computer that's recording it), let me know. I just got a new computer with a super fast processor and GPU, so I should be able to handle recording fine.

Yeah, it doesn't REALLY make the game safer... because you make it more dangerous to be a running back. Even if you made it safer for a tackler, you make it more dangerous for the one being tackled as a trade-off... and isn't that the person who needs protection more?

You're going to have to tell me what system you're trying to emulator. I can't really help you unless I have more information.

If you're trying to do GBA, switch to Mednafen (top-left link in the game's window after launched).

If your problem is with a different emulator... I'll need to know which before I can see what the problem might be.

Azul Fria : Who cares about pre-touchdown celebrations? I actually think it's a silly thing to do. Celebrating when you didn't even score? All you're doing his holding up the game. I think they're right to issue penalties if someone celebrates inappropriately.

I remember watching the Niners play the Packers in this past playoffs. Kaepernick ran for a 15-yard first down and then spiked the ball in celebration like he really did something special. I mean... sure, it was a great run and a much-needed play... but he should be focusing on finishing off the drive, not a mere first down. I think the 15-yard penalty that came to follow was helpful in bringing him back down to earth.

Don't just summon mods to close threads prematurely.

So I heard on NFL Network today at work that the NFL passed a new rule that would forbid ball-carriers from leading with the crown of their helmets when outside the tackle box. I'm curious what football fans think of this rule.

I personally feel it's the final nail in the coffin to the running game in the NFL.

Over the past several years, there have been many rules passed to make passing easier and it's made teams go to the air a lot more and almost abandon their running games. It's gotten to the point where no one plays smash-mouth football, grinding it out for a few yards on 3rd and short anymore. They just pass. Running has become unpopular and the role of the running back devalued. Now with this latest rule, it's going to be so much harder for running backs to establish themselves in the league. It's pretty much instinctual for these guys to lower their heads and brace themselves for an oncoming tackle. Now they can't legally do it. As if power backs weren't already a thing of the past, this is really going to be the case now as it's hard to run over someone if you're worried about making sure to keep your head up. This may also lead to an increase in fumbles as you create more space for the defender to grab at the ball and try to rip it free.

Thoughts?

I haven't played a vast amount of HM games myself... I really only played the Gameboy ones (Color and Advance). I do tend to favor any one of ones that allow you to play as a female character (for obvious reasons) so the latter to GBC games (I think both of them had that anyway... I know 3 did...) and More Friends of Mineral Town were ones that I liked more than others.

I really do need to start playing the DS ones sooner or later. I was really interested in that one that started to incorporate more RPG gameplay elements. That looked like it would be fun.

I don't know if David ever made a formal forum announcement about the user groups, but I know he posted his plans for this feature in the dev forum a while back.

The proposed details on the Club Group were as follows:

"Club Group
The only way to become a member is to get invited by a member of the group. You can only get kicked out by someone who was part of the group before you. There really is no true leader, basically a person's powerlevel is based on the order they became a member.

Ideal for fan clubs where users share something in common.

Price: 1000 Viz"

There are supposed to be many other groups either already in play or in the works. These include Team Group, TdV Team Group (obviously only for TdV), Gang/Squad Group, Clan Group, Circle Group, and League Group.

Each one has a different structure in regards to how you can join, who leads it, and who can kick members out. They also have different price points to start one up.

If the spell-check isn't coming up correctly but you still do have misspelled words in your post, there may possibly be something in your browser that's blocking the spell check script.

I know my FireFox has Noscript installed which will actually prevent the Spell-check here from running.

No one can get the lost data back as far as I'm aware. It gets rejected by the site entirely, so it doesn't get saved anywhere to recover it from...

Always work long posts in a separate document in case you lose your post or encounter an error when posting. That way you can always use the document to copy and paste the information back in.

Anyway, since you figured out why it didn't submit, is this issue then resolved?

You can probably get away with 500W safely so long as you're not planning on doing overclocking or adding a bunch of external devices that also need to draw power.

It's actually kind of hard to use over 500W of power in a standard desktop.

Jordanv78 : Sorry about that. I've been migrating to a new computer this week and it's taken me a while to go through all the updates and getting back all my old files and preferences and yadda yadda.

Yes, I'm handing out a forfeit to LegendKiller because he doesn't really seem active at all. You and

earthwarrior : can face off for the finals. If you guys can get it recorded, that'd be great, because I'm interested in at least seeing a game played since the non-existent participation rate caused me to be unable to partake myself >.>

That tryout was a farce and all it accomplishes is fueling the argument that men are athletically superior to men. Stunts like that make me so mad. If a female really wanted to be in the NFL and out in the required effort, it could happen. Not enough really try though. If you think of how many guys fail, obviously you won't see a smaller pool likely to produce a sucess. It's simple probabilty.

Also so what if there is a female league? There is a LPGA. Does that mean girls can't compete with guys in golf? That isn't a big athletic game even.

I noticed other filters work fine but not RPG. Maybe has to do with something that was changed in the code that had an unknown side effect.

David might know, but I typo'd and summon-failed in my original post >.>
