Welp, I bet there's a bunch of you that are like

Oh goodness... SHE'S back...

And the answer is yes, I am, and I intend on actually staying a while this time

I'll be honest, I have left and come back to this site a lot in the time that I have been on it. There was the time I was banned for no reason (seriously, it's not a case of me doing something and not wanting to admit it, someone made a mistake and it's all okay now.) There was the time that I was sick for a while, only to find out that it was a chronic illness and that my spine is about as straight as my girlfriend. and also the time that I just completely forgot the site existed..... whoops...

Anyways, At least my reason this time is kinda good! I have been doing taekwondo now for at least 2 years now, which may not seem like a long time, but I am starting to take it very seriously and have started going to 4 classes a week, assisting instructing (My club just lost a lot of black belts to military postings) and was training for 2 tournaments back to back! balancing this all with school made it really hard for me to have enough time for vizzed, which really sucks in all honestly.

The good news with all of this is that all my TKD training has been paying off! the first tournament that I went to back in late February was actually a mixed tournament that was open to both Kung Fu and Taekwondo! It was between 3 provinces, and I actually was the only person representing my province, but still came back with a bronze and a silver metal!

The second tournament was a lot more intense. This was the Maritime Championships (4 small provinces on the east coast of Canada put together) and my club had sent quite a few competitors, however, we still were the only ones from our province. I actually won Gold in my division for sparring after winning by points (3-1) against one of the best fighters at my level (and my favourite person to practice patterns with, really cool dude he is). He ended up with silver, and if I had his permission I would have shown you the photo of me and him afterwards that one of my friend's photo bombed! At the same tournament, I also won bronze in patterns!

And, just a few weeks ago I got my green belt! I'm hoping to keep practising over the summer so that I can get to 5th kup in the fall when classes start again!

Anyways, that was really long and I know most of you don't care, but that is why I was gone for so long, and it's also something that I am really proud of doing. Now that I am done school for the year I have a lot more time to devote to vizzed!

Oh goodness... THAT girl again...

I think your thread title will make many users click on this thread. Throughout my school year, I kept disappearing for a while too. I'd be inactive for a week at a time and then barely active when I finally came back online. I wasn't even in any extracurriculars this year but I was still struggling with time management and vizzed got pushed away by me.

Congrats on your accomplishments in the tournament! I can't say I relate to that feeling of victory because the only competitions I've made accomplishments in are the Tour de Vizzed and... well, that's it.

Welcome back to vizzed! I hope the summertime is nice enough to you to allow you plenty of vizzed time.

I also disappear from this site time to time. Sometimes I just don't have the time to check this site, but welcome back. We all understand that personal life comes first of course

I did TKD when I was 10 or so. From what your saying, the belts are really different now than there were whe nI practiced:
White
Yellow
Green / Senior Green
Blue / Senior Blue
Red / Senior Red
Purple / Senior Purple
And then all the different black belts. ( I could have the red and purple mixed up, though ).

Last I heard, they added a senior yellow level, too. But, if it took you 2 years to get to green, then it must have really changed.

I never did tournaments. I just went to my events, and my tests that consisting of doing my forms, sparring, and something else that I don't remember. I found out if I passed about a month later when everybody would get their new belts.

I only failed one test ( not sure if I did, actually, but I might have ) , and that was the blue to senior blue test, I think. Later on, when I passed the test, they sent my belt to the wrogn address, and refused to give me another one. So, because my membership was about to end, and I was frustrated with other stuff, I decided to drop TKD and focus on other things.

Congrats on your medals. It's nice to see you back here.

We've never met, but welcome back. and congrats - I used to do TKD as a kid, but I quit because I was small, skinny, and tired of coming home feeling beat up lol (I wish somebody had told me THAT'S NORMAL STICK WITH IT.. but my parents were eager to save the money haha).
