Hello gamers and welcome to another of my gaming guides. As always, my goal is to help you navigate through the game, complete the sidequests and grind your levels. Note that, at one point in the game, you will have to choose between two brides. Other than changing your children’s hair color, there will be very minor equipment differences – marrying Bianca will cause you to have them later in the game.

Part 1: Childhood

1.1: To Santa Rosa

After the theme where you see the name of the game, press the directional pad to have Pappas talk. Search the right drawer to get medical herb, exit the room and go upstairs. Go around the boat and talk with everyone in every room. Once it’s done, go back to talk with Pappas, follow him and exit the boat. After a short dialogue, exit the harbor through the back door and start walking north. Don’t worry if you get into a fight; daddy will save you. Start walking north along the impassable mountains. Keep walking north to the next village.

Village: Santa Rosa

After a scene, say yes to Bianca. After she leaves search the drawers for a leather hat. Go back downstairs, search the drawer in the back room for medical herb, go downstairs and search the lower urn for a strength seed and talk with Pappas to make him go away. You can find a medical herb upstairs from the weapon shop. Talk with the old man blocking your way west of the church, cross the short bridge and make your way to the cave. Make sure you are around level 4 before venturing too deep.

Dungeon: Santa Rosa Cave

Turn left when you can to get medical herb. Go back, follow the path north and turn left when you can to go downstairs. Go right and down to get 50 gold, walk back and go west of the stairs. Go up around a hole to get leather shield, keep following the left-hand wall down, go left and go downstairs some more. Follow the path without deviating and rescue the person under a rock (just push it down). Talk with the person again, walk up to get wayfarer’s clothes and go back outside.

Talk with Sancho and say yes. After the night get out of bed and go downstairs for a scene. Say yes and you will walk automatically to the next village (don’t worry about fights).

1.2 The little panther cub

Village: Alcapa

After Pappas leaves the group, exit the inn (you can get a wing of the wyvern and a defense seed in the drawers of the third floor) and go towards the two boys bullying the panther cub. Talk to the one above, go back to the inn and talk with Pappas. At night, exit the village. Walk west around an impassable mountain range, north to a bridge you will cross, follow the path north and cross another bridge to the next dungeon.

Dungeon: Lenoire Castle

Walk east of the main door, up a few ladders and into the castle. Go downstairs after Bianca’s kidnapping, take the wing of the wyvern in the upper chest and fall down the hole. Open the door, check the second grave and get Bianca back. Go back inside, talk to the ghost, check the note and take the stairs down that just appeared. Enter the room to talk with the ghost, go downstairs. In this pitch black room, walk east and down until you hit a wall for each direction; you will eventually reach a room with lights. Go downstairs a few flights, follow the ghost king (the pot next to where he started has medical herb) and talk to him. Come back inside, search the urn in the room to get the torch and go back to the black room. Use the torch, walk north to go upstairs and search the statue to have it follow you for a fight.

Battle: Walking statue

If you are around level 7 or 8, this battle is a piece of cake. Just have Bianca cast fire magic and the hero attack. Stay healthy and you should finish quickly.

Follow the path down, search the jar behind the ghost king to teleport and walk west to go downstairs. Walk down to open the entrance door, go back upstairs and go into the room where the door opened by itself a moment ago. You can rest at the inn (door to the right) but you will end up outside. Go back inside, walk up straight and follow the path (you will cross decorative armors) to go upstairs. Talk with the foe on the throne; you will fall and fight.

Battle: Demon Candle *4

If you have a boomerang and a whip, the monsters are quickly history.

Exit the dining hall east, walk down and follow the path upstairs back to the throne room. Talk with the foe to engage in a fight.

Boss Battle: Boss Ghost

Constantly cast decrease until its defense in 0 (watch out as he does the same with sap). Then, just attack and cast fire magic until it dies; don’t forget to heal as needed.

After the fight, exit the castle the same way your first came in (there won’t be any fighting). Use your wing to warp back to Alcapa. After getting Borongo (the default name), walk back to the inn and talk with Pappas. Say yes and you will exit the village (keep Bianca’s ribbon preciously for later). You will be walked automatically back to Santa Rosa.

1.3 The fairies

Village: Santa Rosa

After waking up go to the pub (second floor of the inn) and talk with the fairy (standing on the bar). Go back to Sancho’s house’s basement and talk with the fairy again.

Village: Fairy Castle

Go up the stairs and you will be walked to the fairy queen, Lady Powan. Say yes twice and Bella will join you. Get the holy water in a jar next to the inn and exit the village. Walk west, south of an impassable mountain range; keep walking west to a cave.

Dungeon: Cave of the Thieves’ key

Follow the path south, turn left at the sign and up when you can to get a total of 125 gold. Walk down, all the way down to go downstairs. Go up the northwest corridor and turn left to a dark corridor to go downstairs. Walk down and east, under a stone wall to get agility seed. Walk around the stone wall south of view and go downstairs. Walk up to get the “secrets of the key” (what you want), walk back and open the door next to the stairs to get 120 gold and acorn of life. Exit the cave. From the fairy castle, walk north around the pond, walk west when you see impassable mountains and you will eventually reach the next dungeon.

Dungeon: Ice Castle

Walk (or rather, slide) west to get intelligence seed. Go back to the entrance, slide into a hole, walk: right, up, right, down, left, up and upstairs. In this room: down, left (*2), up, left, down and downstairs. The chest of the left wall contain 5 gold and a wing of the wyvern. Go back upstairs, Walk up, right (*2), up and right to go upstairs. In this room: left, down (*3); you should be here.



Now: right, up to the wall, left to the wall, down to the obstacle, left, down, right, down, right and up. Talk with Zaile to trigger a fight.

Boss fight: Zaile

Just decrease his defense and pummel him while staying healthy. Because you will engage in another fight right after.

Boss fight: Snow Queen

As always, decrease her defense and burn her to death while staying healthy. Watch for her icy breath that attacks everyone for about 15 damage; she also knows icebolt (20 damage to one). She can also heal herself.

After the fight, get the flute of spring and a boomerang from the chest. Now exit the castle: down to the wall, left to the wall, up to the obstacle, left, up to the wall, right, up to the wall, right to the wall, down *2, right, down and downstairs. Now: left, down, right to the wall, left until you can walk down (avoiding the hole) and go back to the fairy castle.

Village: Fairy Castle

Go to the Queen so she can melt the snow.

Village: Santa Rosa

Walk upstairs, walk towards the exit and talk with Pappas. He will walk you automatically to your next destination.

1.4 Henry the little brat

Village: Reinhart Castle

Once you gain control go downstairs and enter the room on the right. Enter the next room, talk with Henry, say yes and go back to the entrance; walk right to the church and enter the next room to get acorn of magic. Go back to the king and talk to him; go back to Henry, talk to him and say yes. Search the chest in the next room, come back up and look next to the table where he was sitting for a secret passage. Walk up to Henry for a kidnapping scene (follow the men outside). Go back to Pappas (take the stairs up once you cross the kitchen) and follow him outside. Walk north around the impassable mountain range, walk right, go between to impassable mountain ranges and follow the one to your right. Follow it to a poisonous marsh and enter the cave north of it.

Dungeon: Kidnappers’ Hideout

Walk straight up, turn right around a water pond (you will see Pappas in the distance) and keep walking right until you go down a flight of stairs. Go through the opening to get 180 gold, come back up and cross the stair bridge; go up another flight and go downstairs. Exit the room, walk north around the room and get to a strength seed. Go up the stairs to your left, enter the door and follow the south wall west to another room. Follow the path to an auto-fight with Pappas, walk straight on the star switch and take the boat. Navigate towards the southern part of that room to get a monster lure. Go back in the boat and navigate north, get elven medicine and enter the room north of you (with grass going into it). After freeing Henry, escape in the boat; just go due south and follow the path to go towards the exit. Watch a long scene where Pappas gets killed (you can’t win any fight) and you get bounded into slavery.

2. Adulthood

2.1 Escaping slavery

When you gain control, go up the stairs to your right and go upstairs on the roof. Talk with Henry (same green hair) and go back where you started. Talk to the woman next to the conveyor belt to recover, go back to the roof and you will go to sleep. Talk with everyone in the room, follow the slaves, go upstairs on the roof and go back down to where you started. Move up and talk with the overseer for a fight.

Battle: Whip man *2

You don’t have to win this fight, but at level 11 it should be easy to. Just keep casting gale and one of them will fall quickly. They can heal and steal your magic, but you should be able to win.

Talk with Henry a few times, exit the cell and talk with the soldier. Enter the barrel and drift away.

Village: Nameless nunnery

When you wake up, walk to the right room and talk to Maria (the blonde). Exit the nunnery, talk with Henry twice (say yes twice) and off you go.

2.2 Taking on Pappas’ mission

Just walk north into the next village

Village: Oracleberry

The last building on your left (near the entrance) is the Monster Day Care, if you plan on capturing many monsters. Search the pots for a pot cover and a monster lure. Right above is the storage facility, when you can get rid of surplus/unwanted objects. If you abuse savestates then go to the casino; you can get the Metal King Sword in no time. In the armor shop east of the casino, enter the door behind the counter and go upstairs to get a defense seed from the drawers. In the casino, go in the dancers’ changing room to get silver barrette and silk robe. At night, follow the passage northwest of the storage place to buy the caravan, which will help you carry more people (costs 300 gold).

Exit the village, cross the bridge to the north and walk northwest in the clearing to go back to a familiar place.

Village: Santa Rosa

Enter the house in the mountain (north of Sancho’s house) to get handwoven cap and rest for only 4 gold. You can now access the house behind the old man (the jar holds an intelligence seed); take the boat next to him and enter the cave.

Dungeon: Santa Rose cave

Follow the river until you can take stairs going down. Do so twice and walk north to follow the upper wall west to get to a chest with 850 gold. Go back, walk west and up to go downstairs. Note that this area is full of metal slimes; you can easily go up to level 20-25 if you use savestates. Anyway, follow the next path (you can’t get lost) to go up some stairs, circle around the large room (you will leave footprints) and up on the right-hand side to go downstairs. On the next floor walk down and left to get Lamp of Darkness (instant night when used on the overworld map), walk back right, right some more and up to get breast plate and agility seed. Go back down, take the staircase going down, walk straight west to a wall, down, right when you can, down to a wall, left, up a dark corridor and downstairs. Take the strength seed from the lower pot, the leather loincloth from the drawers and the Zenithia Sword after you read Pappas’ letter (you can’t wield the sword). Escape the cave and exit Santa Rosa; walk to Alcapa.

Village: Alcapa

Rest at the inn if you want to watch Henry worrying about Reinhart. Talk to the bunny lady in the house west of the inn, enter the passage and check the urn to get a small medal. Now walk back to Reinhart.

2.3 The evil Queen Mother

Village: Reinhart Castle

Enter the village during the day; during the night you will see a strategic entry point… Anyway enter the castle, go upstairs, talk with the soldiers and go back outside. Walk east and go towards the boat where Henry was kidnapped a while back. Navigate under the bridge to enter a cave.

Dungeon: Reinhart Basement

Navigate straight, go up on the altar and search to press a switch. Enter the new passage, walk right and go downstairs. Walk up the leftmost entrance, get the shell hat and steel fang, come back and go up the corridor you skipped. Follow it (passed a few cells), go towards the cell where the Queen is imprisoned and walk further south to go upstairs. Walk up, press the switch, go upstairs and be ready to fight.

Battle: Dragon Pup (quite a dog) in two separate fights

I leveled up to level 19 and was able to take it down in one hit.

Enter the tower door (to the kitchen) and walk towards the throne room (just go upstairs whenever you can). Talk with Dale and he will give you Reinhart’s Key. Go back to the interior court near the kitchen, enter the room next to the tower and unlock the door with jail bars on top. Get a small medal from the leftmost jar, search the rightmost book shelf and go downstairs to warp. Exit the shrine, walk north on a beach, cross a bridge and enter a familiar place.

Village: Nameless nunnery

Enter the nunnery, talk with the sister next to the organ (say yes) and walk back to the tower south of the warp shrine.

Dungeon: Tower to the Mirror of Ra

Walk up straight to another door (no need to open it) and turn right to go upstairs. Walk straight down to get 650 gold, come back and continue to walk west (beware not to fall down) to eventually open a door and go up some more. Walk up straight and around that room to get acorn of magic and scale shield. Come back and follow the path to the right to go upstairs yet again. Search the left urn to get magic water, go back downstairs and take the other large room with a gap to the left to go upstairs some more. Follow the path to an invisible bridge; walk up to about here



Walk one step left and walk straight to get the Mirror of Ra. Exit the tower (fall in the whole to your right, then open the door below you) and warp back to Reinhart (during the day only). Note that you can access the three chest up the stairs from the entrance but be very careful with the barrier floor (it CAN kill you). You can get 1200 gold, acorn of life and half plate armor. Once it’s done go back to the throne room and go upstairs. Use the mirror on both Queens and you will have to fight the evil one (on the left).

Boss Battle: Impostor

Decrease works fine on her. She can call fiends to help her but they are not very strong. Her fiery breath is rather pathetic at level 19. Henry’s stuff will be in Oracleberry so don’t strip him down yet.

After the fight, exit the castle and go back to the harbor (during the day) you first came out of as a child (due south of Santa Rosa).

Village: Vista Harbor

Enter the ship and sail away to another land.

Village: Port Selmi

Enter the lighthouse to the northeast (inside the harbor), climb up the ladder and check the drawer for a small medal. Enter the inn through the middle door, walk slightly right and get into a fight.

Fight: Bandit Wolf *2

They are quick but you should be able to take them down in at most two rounds.

After the fight, say yes to hear the proposal, no to repeating it and enter the stage. In the changing room, get a silk apron from the 2nd drawer. Upstairs, the urn in the first room has 50 gold. Search around the church here to get a small medal. Exit the village.



2.3.1 Optional quest: reuniting with an old friend and moving around easier

Just walk straight south along the coast to the next village.

Village: Kabochi

Enter the inn to change to day (I believe it’s automatic). Enter the house right after the bridge to get strength seed from an urn. The next house over has a leather hat in a barrel. The chief’s house (with the horse) has magic water and a small medal in the jars upstairs. In the building inside a hill, search the end of the corridor next to the shop to get a small medal. Exit the village and follow the clearing west (along the coast) to get to the next cave. Make sure you have Bianca’s ribbon with you.

Dungeon: Killer Panther cave

Walk east (ignore the corridor south), walk down the next corridor you see and walk towards there to search for a small medal



Take the western corridor to get a stone axe, come back, take the next corridor and walk downstairs. Cross two bridges, fall down the hole closest to a room north of you and walk down in the next room to get iron helm. Walk back up to go upstairs (you will be next to where you fell), go back across the two bridges and walk south of the stairs and west to get a man-eating chest. Follow the southern wall down (across a bridge) and follow the path to go downstairs. Enter the next room and talk with the panther for a fight.

However this is no ordinary fight. If you use Bianca’s ribbon the foe will smell it… and reveal itself as Borongo! He will then join you (after talking to him); just escape the cave afterwards. Don’t forget Pappas’ sword behind Borongo! Make your way back to the village.

Village: Kabochi

See the tile across some stairs? Walk towards it from the right, go downstairs and get the armband of sacrifice. Go back to the chief, talk to him to get your money and get out. Go back to Port Selmi, follow the coast to the northwest until you see a panel; walk straight west to the next village.

Village: Ruraphin

Enter the tavern (first building up the stairs), go upstairs and then down to get a wing of the wyvern in a barrel. Go back up to get an acorn of magic in a barrel in that room, exit to the east (in the church) and go towards the jars to get an agility seed and a small medal. Now walk around the pub, walk here



Walk right to a tunnel, walk left to the poster seen above, walk directly south of it and enter the house with the smoke rings. Talk with the man (say no and yes) and follow him upstairs. Talk to him, get a magic water from a barrel and exit the village. Walk towards where the map showed – walk northwest towards a waterfall, cross them, walk back down and then south until you see the herbs glow (during the night). Walk on them and search to get Ruramoon herbs.


Go back to the magician’s hut, talk to him and follow him downstairs. Talk to him again, start moving when you can and talk to him again. Cast Return to Ruraphin and enter the inn. An urn upstairs has a small medal.

2.4: Fetching the wedding rings

Exit the village and walk straight south (long but straightforward) to enter a house. Check the well from below to get a small medal. Keep walking south and enter a cave.

Dungeon: Cave to Salabona

You won’t be able to move far because a soldier wants you to go to Reinhart. Do it.

Village: Reinhart Castle

Walk to the throne room, talk with Dale and go upstairs to talk with Henry. Then go back to the cave. You can also go back to Oracleberry to get a world map if you need (at night, where you got the caravan; costs 1000 gold).

Dungeon: Cave to Salabona

Walk south, east and get a small medal. Come back one room, go left and follow the path upstairs. Walk to the southwest, cross a bridge and enter a village.

Village: Salabona

Get an iron shield from the rightmost room’s drawer at the inn. Get an intelligence seed from the secondary mansion (across a bridge, southwest of the fountain). Then keep walking north and enter Ludman’s mansion. Talk with the lady at the entrance (say yes) and talk with every suitor. After the speech, go upstairs to Flora’s room and get a silver barrette from her drawers. Get another small medal from the old couple’s house (first floor drawer) just south of the inn. Exit the city, cross the bridge and follow the coast south. Walk on the sand path to the end, walk up between two impassable mountain ranges and walk up to a volcano.

Dungeon: Ring of Flame cave

Walk west past a suitor, cross the second bridge you see and get 450 gold. Cross back the bridge, walk north to change room and follow the path (it’s long but mostly straightforward; walk south of a pool of lava). You will eventually cross a bridge and go downstairs. Walk up, right to the end and up to get a man-eating chest. Walk back to the intersection and walk into the lava (you will receive damage for each step so watch your health) to get a staff on antimagic south of you. Walk back to the safe trail, walk left and take the first corridor down. Keep walking right to get iron helm. Walk up the second corridor you see and go downstairs. Walk right, up the first corridor you see (on a small patch of lava) and get a defense seed. Go back, walk left and go around a large pool of lava. Change room, walk left and go down a path of lava to get 1500 gold. Walk back to the large pool, go up the middle corridor (full of lava), change room and walk southeast to another path of lava to go downstairs (for a healing tile). Go back up and follow the northern wall west to go downstairs again (down a safer path this time). Walk up, search the ring and be ready to fight.

Boss battle: Lava savage *3 (appear individually, so forget group magic)

Flaming breath can do 30-40 damage. At level 20, they should take about three rounds each to kill. Make sure you stay healthy because the breath attack can be nasty.

Warp back to Salabona to heal, go talk to Ludman so he can hold the ring for you and give you free access to his ship. Enter it (right outside of town) and follow the river north to a lock blocking your passage. Disembark and walk slightly northeast to a village surrounded by trees.

Nameless mountain village

Enter the house in the hill and get a strength seed left of the merchant; the other one is a demon jar. It can cast beat and do critical attacks. Get a small medal from a barrel downstairs in the inn. Walk north of the inn and enter the house on pillars. Talk with the man on the bed, and after a scene exit the bedroom to have your breakfast. Say yes, go talk to Bianca and say yes again and exit the village (don’t forget the small medal next to Bianca’s mother’s tomb). Go back to the boat, open the lock and navigate northeast to there



Keep navigating up the river and under the waterfall to the next dungeon.

Dungeon: Water Ring cave

Follow a long path down some stairs, walk up and around a lake to go down some more and walk west as much as you can to go downstairs yet again. Follow the path until you see a man in the water. Walk north of him along the eastern wall, go down the first oath you see (you will also see a dry ledge) and walk west down the hole. Exit the room, get the robe of serenity from the chest and fall down the other hole. Move to the next room, go downstairs, exit that room, walk west (you can walk on the water) over a small fall and go down into the water. Take the stairs to the right, go downstairs by walking east and eventually get to a chest with elven medicine. Go back into the water and follow the path between the two staircases. Get 1200 gold in the water (literally) and enter the room under the big fall and get the ring of water. Exit the cave and warp back to Salabona.

Village: Salabona

Enter the mansion during the day, walk towards Ludman and answer yes. At night, go talk to Bianca (just below Ludman’s mansion) and to Ludman in his room. When you’re done, go talk to the innkeeper to finish the night (if it doesn’t work, try talking with everyone). In the morning, talk with your true love to marry her (I always choose Bianca, but I will refer to her as “your wife”). Exit the village, navigate back to Bianca’s nameless village and get the silk veil from the general store (inside the hill by the entrance). Warp back to Salabona, go to the secondary house and talk to your wife. Now walk to the church and get married! In the morning go to Ludman’s mansion and talk to him. Get 2000 gold and the Zenithian shield from the unlocked chests.

2.5: The Return of the King

Exit the village, warp back to Port Selmi and use Ludman’s ship (talk with the man in front of it) to navigate. Just navigate south, all the way pass an island with impassable mountains and a tiny island with a sign. Once you hit the coast (there will be lots of sand) follow the coast east until you reach a range of impassable mountains. Disembark and walk towards the oasis. Get a small medal from an urn. Walk straight west from the oasis and enter a castle.

Village: Telepador Castle

Walk north of the inn and enter the side door (the church). Go upstairs, walk left and enter the main gate. The back room has a demon jar in the upper-right corner of the back room, but also a defense seed. Go downstairs, talk with the queen (in the lower-left corner) and follow her. Search the helm and follow the Queen back to her gardens. Talk to her, say yes and don’t forget the small medal in the well (look from the south side) northeast of the room. Exit the castle, walk back to your boat and navigate due east to about here



Enter the shrine to rest as needed and walk north (through poisonous marshes) to enter a cave.

Dungeon: Mountain Pass to Chizod

Follow the path up, cross two bridges and when you cross another one climb up the stairs northeast of you. Get 550 gold, come back and walk west to climb the stairs across from a chest. Go up, then down two flights of stairs to your left to reach it (it contains a small medal), ignoring the stairs to the far left for now. Climb back up the two flights of stairs, climb the second one to your right and keep walking right to get ring of prayer. Walk down to get a small medal in the left-hand jar (the other one is a demon jar) and keep going downstairs to talk to the old lady. Say yes, and your strength will increase 5 points and you will be able to sleep. Come back up, go back to where you got the small medal in a chest and climb up the stairs to the far left. Climb two flights of stairs to your right, enter the cave and go up the second corridor. Keep walking left to get a small medal, walk up the corridor and take the first intersection up to go upstairs. Walk down, climb up the, er, sand mountain, go under the bridge, go up and follow the path to a priest. Walk south of him to reach a village.

Village: Chizod

As you walk east, talk to Bianca for a scene. Get a monster lure for the barrel inside the inn. Downstairs from the weapon shop (the building before the bridge exiting town) is a small medal in the old man’s room in a barrel. You can also get a fighter’s hair in the jar across from the stairs. When you’re ready, cross the bridge and enter a cave.

Dungeon: Cave to Granvania

Go downstairs and go up-right when your flight of stairs is surrounded by water. Follow the path and get 1500 gold and a mimic (on the right). Fight it and get a small medal (make sure you cast decrease as it’s quite strong). Go back to the stairs and walk down against the wall to get a small medal. Go back to the corridor you ignored, fall down a ledge and go back in. Follow the path to the left (you can’t get lost), fall down a ledge, get rogue armor and get back in. Go right downstairs and walk up to a room with leaf of world tree. Come back, follow the path to the right and get a mimic (with a small medal) and a small medal. Keep walking south, turn left at the intersection and get to a chest with another small medal. Come back to the intersection to turn right, go downstairs, get 270 gold from the chest, follow the path down and go downstairs next to a hole. Go down the stairs to the left to get a bomb stone, come back up and walk to the far right to go upstairs. Follow that path and get 1600 gold from the first chest you see. Keep going upstairs, fight a mimic to get your next small medal, go upstairs and walk left to get wing of wyvern (lower chest) and fight man-eater chest (without a medal). Make your way back to where you got the 1600 gold; fall down the hole in the center. Exit that room, fall of the ledge and get stone of life. Go back in, get agility seed and man-eater chest on the right, walk left and exit the cave. Just walk up straight to Granvania.

Village: Granvania Castle

Enter the castle, walk towards the back and get intelligence seed from the barrel behind the merchant left of the large door. Go through these doors, walk right and go under the stairs



To get hat of happiness, naughty underwear and ring of prayer. Walk to the far left to get strength seed (2nd jar from right) and small medal (4th jar from right). Talk with the ladies in the church, exit the castle and walk to a small building on the right side. Get boxer shorts in the drawer to the right and talk with Sancho (say yes). After your wife’s big announcement, check the drawers to get lace bisuche and stone of life. The next room to the left has a defense seed. Now go downstairs and start walking down on the carpet. Exit the throne room, go down one floor (the entrance used to be blocked by a green soldier when Sancho escorted you) and check the drawers on the right side to get a small medal. Exit the castle, walk east across a bridge and walk up left of an impassable mountain range to go into a cave (surrounded by sand).

Dungeon: Cave of Trials

Note that metal babbles are roaming around if you want to increase your level. Anyway walk up straight, open the far-right door and enter-exit it. Open the door next to it, walk left to open the next door and walk south to go downstairs. Walk all the way up to a wall (left of a pool of water), enter the room above to get a small medal, exit the room and walk left to a large corridor with sand. Move the rock towards the door (but leave enough room for you to fit) and open it; the rock will keep you to go with the water. Get the swordedge armor and open the door behind the altar to get downstairs. Walk on the left crest, go downstairs, walk left to search the broken pillar and say yes. Walk on the crest and up the newly formed bridge to the very back to get the Symbol of Royalty. Walk back and be ready to fight.

Battle: Kandar and Shield Hippo

Kandar can cast healmore so take him down first. They will go down easily when over level 30. Now walk back to the room with four doors and cast outside. Now go back to Granvania.

Village: Granvania Castle

Go to the throne room and talk with the king. Talk with the ladies and pace a little downstairs (talk with everyone in the throne room). Run upstairs when you hear babies (yes, two) crying and talk to your wife. Name your children however you like, and after a night of sleep go downstairs to get crowned. After it’s done (don’t forget to sit on the throne) walk downstairs to meet your new subjects. At night, go back upstairs to learn bad news (search under your wife’s bed) after talking with the nurse. After the conference exit the room and walk to the northeast room to get flying shoes from the drawers. Use them right away.

2.6: Turned to stone

Enter the shrine to rest as needed and walk straight north, going towards a tower surrounded by impassable mountains.

Dungeon: Tower north of Granvania

Enter the right door, go upstairs and be ready to fight (Leaonar), which goes down quickly when you’re above level 30. Walk on the star, search the nearest jar to fight a demon jar (and a small medal in the other), get strength seed and wizard’s robe from the chest and talk with the monsters to fight two hawk men. Walk on the upper star, walk up the corridor to fight Leaonar and Orc King and come back to go upstairs. Walk around this room to have obstacles pop all over. This is what the way to the armband of sacrifice looks like



From the chest, walk back to the stairs and go along the right wall to take the stairs. Go upstairs (*2), walk outside to go downstairs and fight mimic (first chest; get small medal), 880 gold and magic water. Go back to the “spear room” seen above (fall in the holes to make it quicker) and make your way like this to the stairs (the far-right spears is where you land)


Walk around the hole, follow the path upstairs, go out, get zombie mail and go back in to go upstairs. Go out, follow the path to a room with dragon heads. They spew fire within two tiles and can kill you. Navigate your way around them to the stairs going up and walk to the far left of that room to get small medal and leaf of world tree. Go back to the hole in the middle of the room; push three rocks in the hole (leave the one below as it’s a monster) and fall into it. Push one lightly against the first dragon head to your right, push the next one to the very next head right below, push the next one right below the next one and go upstairs. Follow the path upstairs (ignore the door going outside) and flick the switch (after fighting 2 balloons and a mammo). Walk on the star, flick the next switch and get a small medal from the jar, a wing of the wyvern and a mimic (with a small medal) in the chest. Enter the door leading outside you skipped, follow the path (talk with the chancellor to see the bastard die) and get ready to fight on the topmost floor.

Boss battle: Orc lv. 20

Watch out for its decrease. Otherwise just pummel it to death.

After the fight go in the newly opened corridor for the next fight.

Boss battle: Wyvern lv. 35

It can cast snowblast, flame breath and seems to avoid attacks more than average. But it’s still no match for you when you’re level 30.

Enter the newly opened corridor, go downstairs and be ready to fight (talk with your wife first).

Boss battle: Jahmi

You won’t do much damage for the first few rounds (watch out for blazemore and blizzard breath). Use this time to increase your defense. At one point your wife will jump in and cancel Jahmi’s barrier. Now pummel him to death while staying healthy.

After the fight, look at a very long scene where you are turned to stone and watch the world change.

3. Fatherhood

3.1 Mom’s birthplace.

When you gain control, go downstairs to the throne room and talk with Ojiron. Walk down one floor, go to Ruisa’s place to setup your party as you wish (I usually travel with my children) and exit the castle. You can also recruit Pippin (the soldier in green in the house right of the fountain). Warp back to Port Selmi and navigate your ship. Make your way back to Telepador Castle to get the Zenithian Helm (by talking to the Queen in her gardens like before) and warp to Reinhart.

Village: Reinhart Castle

Go to Henry’s room (above from the throne room), find Collins the same way you found Henry during your youth and go back to Henry’s room to receive hat of the winds. Exit the castle, walk to the left and open the chest to get into a fight.

Battle: Kandar Henchman

If you leveled up your children to level 30, just pummel him to death. Still, he can cast sleep. The chest contains demon armor.

Exit the village, make your way back to Bianca’s mountain village (north of Salabona) and go under Duncan’s house. Talk to the man to get into another fight.

Battle: Kandar Henchman

Same battle as above, really. Get a silk bisuche in the chest afterwards. Now warp to Granvania, walk north to your ship and navigate northeast to a narrow river. Keep left at the fork and keep navigating north until you see land. Follow the coast west (you will pass impassable mountains) and start going north along the coast when you see a narrow river (towards the forest).

Keep following the coast to a small shrine; enter it to get an intelligence seed from the right jar and a stone of life from the chest downstairs. Search the water pale from under (next to the well above the house) to get a small medal. Exit the house, get back to your ship and keep following the coast around the shrine’s peninsula. Enter the cave you see with your ship.



Dungeon: Cave to El Heven

Navigate north at the first intersection and disembark. Follow the path to a Satan Helm and go back to the ship. Navigate east, up, east again and get a small medal for a chest on the tiny island. Navigate west to the end, go south when you can and exit the cave. Keep navigating south and enter the village.

Village: El Heven

Enter the main building, go up a flight of stairs and enter the middle door; climb up the ladder. Take the defense seed and small medal from the jars behind the old couple and keep walking west to go upstairs (there are two guards nearby). Talk with the four elder(esses?), go back to the entrance and walk west among the trees. Get the magic key from the chest, walk back to the entrance and go under the building right next to the main staircase. Make your way east under the building, walk east of the old man with a fire pit and go under the building again. Walk under the old couple’s room and walk towards stairs going down. Get the magic carpet and exit the village. Warp back to Salbona (your ship will follow, don’t worry).

Village: Salbona

Go to Ludman’s mansion and into the man’s room to talk to him (say yes). Exit the village, walk one step away from it and use your carpet to fly here


Enter the shrine, go downstairs, check the jar and warp back to Salbona. Enter the tower right next to the city and go on the topmost floor. Be ready to fight.

Boss Battle: Buorn

Make sure you cast all protective spells like increase and bikill because Buorn is very strong even at level 35. You can also push your luck and cast decrease on the fiend (especially if it casts upper). Watch out for its raging flames that can do 50 to 70 damage.

3.2: In search of Zenithia

After the fight, check the chest to get the final key. Exit Salbonia and warp back to Reinhart. Use your carpet, fly southeast towards the river and follow it west. Fly inland and follow impassable mountains towards the north. Enter the cave you see.

Optional Dungeon: Cave of the royal cloak.

Open the jail door and keep walking north to go downstairs. Follow the path down, walk left and up and go downstairs some more. Walk west (opposite of a white tile), go down the first corridor you see and get a small medal. Go back up, walk right, go down the next corridor you see and get elven amulet. Walk back up, take the next corridor down, go downstairs, take the first corridor to your right and get a demon hammer. Come back, walk up, left and push the white tile from under on one of the face on the ground. Walk back down, walk left and up and push that tile to another face. Go back down, take the first corridor down to your right, walk left, up and push that tile. Walk back down, take the corridor you just came from down to the wall, walk down some more and carefully push that tile on the final face. Get the royal cloak, exit the cave and warp back to Port Selmi. Use your carpet, fly south towards Telepador Island, then east to the end of the island and south to a tropical island where the Medal King resides.

The chest right of him contain golden tiara and two small medals. Talk with the king to get rid of your medals and take a king metal shield if you want (sword of miracles restores after every hit). The lady at the counter has a depository if you have extra objects. Exit the castle, fly north of Telepador Island (above poisonous marshes) and follow shortly the river. Land here and enter the tower.



Dungeon: Former Tower to Zenithia

It’s nearly the same tower as in Dragon Warrior IV. Anyway, walk up the stairs, go northeast to go upstairs, enter the room to get leaf of world tree, go back outside and go back downstairs. Walk west above the columns above the red carpet and follow the path to go upstairs. Do it a few times, get the small medal and keep walking to enter a room with stairs going up. Take the second flight (up in the room), follow the path (you will go outside), go back inside (opposite stairs going down) and follow the path to get the magma staff. Exit the tower, walk west to where you landed your carpet and use it again. Fly it due east, follow the coast south (around a peninsula) and start flying due north when you see this island


Go right of the passable mountains you see on the larger island and land south of impassable mountains. Use the magma staff and enter the cave.

Dungeon: Cave to the bottom of the lake

Walk down to go downstairs, walk down, enter the cart, enter the next cart, flick the switch and enter the cart twice. Flick the switch, enter the cart, get 950 gold, enter the cart again, flick the switch and get back inside the cart. Go up the stairs to your left to take acorn of life and small medal from the chests, go back down, flick the switch and enter the cart next to it. Go upstairs, flick two switches and ride the cart. Ride the carts to go downstairs, walk down the stairs, follow the path to get 750 gold, go back to the stairs, walk right, flick the switch, take the magic water from the chest, walk down the stairs above the switch you just flicked, flick the next one and ride the cart. Ride the first cart you see, flick the switch, fall down the hole, walk down to go upstairs and ride the second cart. Walk down, flick the switch where the man is going in circles and go talk to him. Walk back to his infinite loop, go up the stairs and go upstairs. Get the staff of benediction, go back downstairs and ride Pusan’s cart. Go upstairs to ride the next one, take the next one and you will be in the castle.

(Underwater) village: Zenithia Castle

Yet another relic from Dragon Warrior IV. Walk up the stairs to the large main door, enter it and follow the path to the throne room. Check behind it for secret stairs, go down and right for a scene about why the castle fell down. Warp back to the surface, return to Port Selmi and use your carpet. Follow the coast south; once it starts going west just fly due west until you hit the land. Follow that land mass to the east, fly south when you see shoals and onto and island with desert and forests (strange). Disembark, cross both bridges and enter the tree that stands out.

Dungeon: Forest of Illusions

Walk all the way up, enter the building, get elven medicine from the drawers and a small medal from the rightmost jar. Exit the building, follow the path up, go right when you see a small lake, down at the intersection to get a fairy sword and back up all the way until your children see the fairies (only they can). Just follow your children and you will enter the fairy village.

Village: Fairy Castle

Note that the armor shop has some nice upgrades. Walk straight up to Lady Powan (say yes) and she will give you the fairy horn. Exit the village, walk down, left at the intersection, down-left at the lake, down and onto the world map. Walk back to where you landed your carpet, unroll it and fly back to the former tower to Zenithia (it’s the island due east of where you are). Land your carpet, walk north of the tower and walk into the lake.

Village: The Great Palace of the Fairies

Take the boat, ride it to a water lily and blow the horn. Enter the newly formed castle and walk up to talk with the Queen. Walk to the left, talk to the guard and go upstairs. Walk left, talk to the fairy and look at the picture on the wall. You will be warped back to Santa Rosa before Pappas left it. Talk with every single person in the village (including the guards), then go to the church to see yourself as a child. Talk with yourself, say yes twice and go back to the main room. Go right, go downstairs and take the staff of thunder and princess robe from the chests.

Exit the palace and make your way back to Zenithia (going through the carts again). Talk to Pusan and watch a scene. Go back to the throne room to talk to him, exit the room and walk down to the first level of the outside stairs. The Zenithian of the left has dew of world tree (heal all but can only carry one), get a small medal from the next room in a drawer, enter the fire place and take a grappling hook. Go back to where Pusan put the orbs and stand on the star to fly the castle around. Fly back to Telepador Island, keep flying west to another island and land in the desert west of a tower you see. Enter it.

Dungeon: Tower of the Dragon

Climb up the ladder on the left side and go all the way up. On the summit, use the grappling hook and go inside the tower. Follow the path, take the small medal from the chest, ignore the stairs going up you see and enter the room to your right. Walk until you see a grappling hook “holder”; walk right and enter the room. Take the right-hand stairs down to get 2700 gold, go up and take the other stairs. Walk around the giant stone figure, take the devil’s armor from the chest, keep walking and flick the switch to open the front door (just in case). Keep walking left to go downstairs, follow the path (watch for poisonous marshes), go downstairs and walk left. Take elven medicine, go downstairs, fight the mimic (and get a small medal) and get a small medal from the other chest. Take the stairs to your left, go right, down (ignoring the stairs), go downstairs and follow the path up. Go upstairs and be ready to fight.

Boss battle: Gonz

It’s a physical foe so make sure to cast increase. Don’t forget bikill and decrease too! He will go down fast.

Take the Dragon Left Eye from the chest and backtrack to the stairs you ignored earlier. Take the path up and you will be back to the 4-way intersection. Walk up, follow the path to go downstairs and follow the path to get a shield of darkness. Come back to the 4-way intersection, walk left and go up/down the stairs to take the path up. Follow that path downstairs and walk a long way to get a well-deserved revenge.

Boss fight: Gema

Once again don’t forget stats-boosting spells; his ordinary physical attack can do 90 damage. His blazemost can do over 100 damage and his flame breath can do about 50 damage; he can also exhale a numbing breath. Just kill him and stay healthy.

Take the Dragon Right Eye from the chest, warp outside and get right back in through the front door. Walk the path right and make your way back up to the grappling hook ring. Use your hook, place the eyes correctly (remembering it works like a mirror, i.e. the right eye is on HIS right) and warp outside once again to make your way to the newly deployed tongue. Enter the statue, jump down the hole and take the dragon staff. Go back up a ladder, use your grappling hook to go down and enter the room. Walk carefully around the barrier floor (use step guard) and take the dragon orb in the back. Exit the tower and make your way back to Zenithia.

Village: Zenithia Castle

Walk to the throne room, talk to Pusan and say yes. Get the Zenithian Bells, exit the castle and use your new item (heaven bell) to call Master Dragon.

3.3 Ending the Order of Light

Fly back to the former tower to Zenithia; keep flying north until you see the temple where you were enslaved. Land your dragon there.

Dungeon: Temple of the Order of Light

Enter the right-hand door, say no to the soldier and be ready to fight.

Battle: Snakehand

He’s going to be quickly history.

Take the Zenithian armor, get back to the entrance and enter the temple. Talk to the soldiers, walk in and talk to them again for a fight.

Battle: Dragon Warrior *2

As weak as the previous battle.

After the fight walk to the right (climbing up the stairs) and make your way to the altar. Talk with “Martha”, say no repeatedly (but yes to whether you think she’s fake) and get into a fight.

Boss Battle: Ramada

As always, boost your stats before pummeling the foe – decrease works too. His blizzard can do up to 60 damage, his physical around 40 with increase and his flame breath, around 50.

After the fight, search the darker tile among the light one to go downstairs. Follow the path, enter the cliff after the unlit torches and open the door to enter the basement. Walk up the stairs (guarded by statues), walk right and go downstairs. Walk up, climb up the ladder, walk right and climb down and take the path on the ground. Change room, follow the path and go down; walk south to get demon claw. Walk back to the stairs, walk left without climbing them, walk down (don’t go under the bridge to your left), go left and up the ladder and change room. Walk south, climb down the ladder and walk south into a room with shield of ruins and slave clothes. Go back one room, walk to the left without climbing up the ladders, climb the ladder next to a wall and change room. Walk right, go downstairs and be ready to fight.

Boss Battle: Ivol

This fight is harder because manipulation through savestates is more difficult. He can attack twice in a row. Of course, boosting you stats will help you greatly (bounce too, but it reflects healing spells too). His ice breath can do nearly 100 damage, bounce (for magic), explodet for about 80 damage and freezing rays to cancel your defenses. He also tends to do critical attacks more than ordinary ones. Stay healthy (make sure someone can cast healus) and kill him.

Search the altar to get a ring of life and make your way to where you fought Ramada (you will hear Martha’s voice when you return to the quarry where you were enslaved) to free your fight from her stone form. She will join your team once again.

Village: Granvania Castle

Walk to the throne room to talk with Ojira (say yes). Talk with Sancho, go back upstairs and talk with your family. In case you didn’t get the chest above Ruisa’s place, get 3000 gold and a meteorite armband (increase agility). Exit the castle.

4. The end

Warp back to El Heven, take your boat and enter the cave.

Dungeon: Cave to El Heven

Navigate straight north, disembark the ship, open the door and use the ring of fire (lower-left statue), the ring of water (lower-right statue) and the ring of life on the last statue. Walk behind it and you will be sucked into the Dark World. Don’t forget to take the sage’s stone before exiting the temple.

Follow the clearing, cross a bridge, walk due east, follow the path without deviating and you will see a village; enter it.

Village: Jahanna

Get a defense seed from a barrel below the church. There is a monster daycare in the upper-right corner next to the weapon shop if you need. To enter the inn, hug the trees (as in walk closely, sillies) to the left and climb up the stairs – the middle drawer has elven medicine. Use the same technique to hug the city wall from the left. It’s worth the walk to get a small medal from the barrel. Exit the city, walk south to be on passable mountains and follow the coast east (always stay close to it). Cross a bridge, walk west pass a poisonous marsh and up the next one (cast step guard) to enter the final dungeon. Several areas after where Martha dies have King Metal slimes; use savestates to get copious amounts of experience.

Final Dungeon: Mildrath’s Castle

Walk up straight to the next room, do the same in the next one (cast step guard) and go upstairs. Walk up, right, up, left and go upstairs. Follow the path down, go down-left when you can, go upstairs and take robe of darkness. Go back to the intersection that lead to the chest, take the upper path (it leads upstairs), walk down and go upstairs some more. Walk down, left, right across a narrow ledge and get ogre shield. Come back, cross a narrow ledge to your left and walk up to go downstairs. Get a small medal, go back up, enter the next room and follow the path left and be ready to fight on top of the cliff.

Battle: Dark Shaman *2

 Despite having firevolt (can do 30 damage), they are nothing to worry about when your children are around level 35.

After the fight watch your mom’s final moments (walk up and down to finish the scene if needed). Walk down the stairs and enter the next room. Avoid the arrows, go downstairs, walk due east (on a single arrow pointing right) and follow the path to an echoing hat (casts a spell twice in a row). Walk slightly down to walk on arrows pointing left to get small medal. Now walk up on an arrow pointing up to go upstairs. Walk east on arrows pointing right, walk on the arrow pointing down against the wall, walk on the series of arrows pointing left and then on the one pointing right to get holy chamberpot (!!) and sun crown. Walk up on the arrows and walk on those pointing up to automatically go downstairs. Go right back up, walk left to take the stairs down, back up again and exit the room (you are back where Martha died). Walk south to enter the next room (don’t forget the multi-edged sword left of it first), use the holy chamberpot and go downstairs. Walk northwest (avoiding the weird tiles) to fight a mimic and get a small medal. Walk on the weird tile north of you and fall down a hole. Go upstairs, walk right avoiding the tiles, get the king metal helm, walk to the southwest around the tiles and get 3300 gold. Walk west and walk on a tile here to fall down


Go upstairs, follow the path up and you will eventually go downstairs. Walk up, go left and enter the room where the wall masks look at you. Walk left (avoiding the hole) and stand on the star. Follow the path right (you can’t get lost) and stand on the next star. Walk back up to stand on the next star, walk right and up to stand on the next one and walk down from the hole (without falling in it) to move the platform to go to the next room. Walk straight up, open the chest and be ready to fight.

Battle: Hellbattler *2 (appear individually)

If your level is over 40, they shouldn’t be much of a problem. You will get an orihalcon fang after the battle.

Enter the next room, walk straight and be ready for the final battle.

Final battle: Mildrath

Like most final battles it has more than one part. In the first one (with the ordinary boss battle theme), cast you boosting spells as usual; decrease can work. His blazemost can cause 100 damage, he can cancel your boosting spells, he can call for help (I had attackbots, and they appeared as a group) and his glittering ice can do 95 damage.

After that battle, the real final one begins. He is really annoying because he can meditate and heal (not sure what percentage). His hellish flames can do over 120 damage, his blazemost can do about 100, his attack can do 100 damage even with increase, he can cancel your defensive spells, attack twice in a row and cast decrease. Stay healthy and you will win.

After the battle you will be warped back to Zenithia. Talk with the Zenithians if you want, then move to the exit to fly with Master Dragon. You will be brought to most villages you visited. Talk to whoever you want and then exit the village to be flown to the next village. In Granravia, just go to the throne and watch the end credits.

The End

But wait! There’s more!

5. Bonus Dungeon

After you see “the end”, hit reset on the emulator and load a game normally. Warp to Evil Mountain, walk south of Mildrath’s Castle and enter the bonus dungeon. Note that you can play normally, including exchanging medals at the Medal King.

Bonus Dungeon

Walk southwest, get small medal and restoration orb (one resurrection with full hit points) from the chests and come back to the stairs. Walk north (ignore the corridor going right), enter the room northeast to fight a mimic (and get a small medal), come back and walk west without deviating. Open the jail gate, make your way avoiding the holes, go right of the stairs to get shield of radiance and come back to the stairs. Don’t take them; keep walking west and walk towards the next flight of stairs to fall into a hole (you can see cracks in the floor). Walk left across poisonous marshes (cast stepguard) to get drum of war (bikill to active team members), walk due east and get hell saber and go back upstairs. Avoiding the cracks, walk south to the wall, west along the wall, north to another room and downstairs. Walk east to get sword of decimation, walk due west for two rooms, up, left, up, right, down, right, down, right and downstairs. Go up, upstairs and follow the path down to fight a mimic (and get a small medal) and get elven medicine from the other chest. Go back downstairs, walk down, left, down twice and get king metal armor. Go up, right twice and get an empty chest. Go downstairs, follow the path (cast stepguard as needed), walk left at the first intersection you see, up and get iron ball of decimation. Walk down, left and go downstairs for the bonus boss (say yes). Make sure you are at least level 50 by fighting king metals.

Bonus fight: Esturk

This fight is tougher than Mildrath. He can attack twice in a row, can freezing rays to cancel your defense and attack for over 130 damage. His blazemost and explodet can cause 80 damage, his glittering ice nearly 100 and his hellish flame over 130.

I was able to finish him in 32 rounds, but it could have been fewer if I hadn’t used supporting magic so much. Oh well…

Hello gamers and welcome to another of my gaming guides. As always, my goal is to help you navigate through the game, complete the sidequests and grind your levels. Note that, at one point in the game, you will have to choose between two brides. Other than changing your children’s hair color, there will be very minor equipment differences – marrying Bianca will cause you to have them later in the game.

Part 1: Childhood

1.1: To Santa Rosa

After the theme where you see the name of the game, press the directional pad to have Pappas talk. Search the right drawer to get medical herb, exit the room and go upstairs. Go around the boat and talk with everyone in every room. Once it’s done, go back to talk with Pappas, follow him and exit the boat. After a short dialogue, exit the harbor through the back door and start walking north. Don’t worry if you get into a fight; daddy will save you. Start walking north along the impassable mountains. Keep walking north to the next village.

Village: Santa Rosa

After a scene, say yes to Bianca. After she leaves search the drawers for a leather hat. Go back downstairs, search the drawer in the back room for medical herb, go downstairs and search the lower urn for a strength seed and talk with Pappas to make him go away. You can find a medical herb upstairs from the weapon shop. Talk with the old man blocking your way west of the church, cross the short bridge and make your way to the cave. Make sure you are around level 4 before venturing too deep.

Dungeon: Santa Rosa Cave

Turn left when you can to get medical herb. Go back, follow the path north and turn left when you can to go downstairs. Go right and down to get 50 gold, walk back and go west of the stairs. Go up around a hole to get leather shield, keep following the left-hand wall down, go left and go downstairs some more. Follow the path without deviating and rescue the person under a rock (just push it down). Talk with the person again, walk up to get wayfarer’s clothes and go back outside.

Talk with Sancho and say yes. After the night get out of bed and go downstairs for a scene. Say yes and you will walk automatically to the next village (don’t worry about fights).

1.2 The little panther cub

Village: Alcapa

After Pappas leaves the group, exit the inn (you can get a wing of the wyvern and a defense seed in the drawers of the third floor) and go towards the two boys bullying the panther cub. Talk to the one above, go back to the inn and talk with Pappas. At night, exit the village. Walk west around an impassable mountain range, north to a bridge you will cross, follow the path north and cross another bridge to the next dungeon.

Dungeon: Lenoire Castle

Walk east of the main door, up a few ladders and into the castle. Go downstairs after Bianca’s kidnapping, take the wing of the wyvern in the upper chest and fall down the hole. Open the door, check the second grave and get Bianca back. Go back inside, talk to the ghost, check the note and take the stairs down that just appeared. Enter the room to talk with the ghost, go downstairs. In this pitch black room, walk east and down until you hit a wall for each direction; you will eventually reach a room with lights. Go downstairs a few flights, follow the ghost king (the pot next to where he started has medical herb) and talk to him. Come back inside, search the urn in the room to get the torch and go back to the black room. Use the torch, walk north to go upstairs and search the statue to have it follow you for a fight.

Battle: Walking statue

If you are around level 7 or 8, this battle is a piece of cake. Just have Bianca cast fire magic and the hero attack. Stay healthy and you should finish quickly.

Follow the path down, search the jar behind the ghost king to teleport and walk west to go downstairs. Walk down to open the entrance door, go back upstairs and go into the room where the door opened by itself a moment ago. You can rest at the inn (door to the right) but you will end up outside. Go back inside, walk up straight and follow the path (you will cross decorative armors) to go upstairs. Talk with the foe on the throne; you will fall and fight.

Battle: Demon Candle *4

If you have a boomerang and a whip, the monsters are quickly history.

Exit the dining hall east, walk down and follow the path upstairs back to the throne room. Talk with the foe to engage in a fight.

Boss Battle: Boss Ghost

Constantly cast decrease until its defense in 0 (watch out as he does the same with sap). Then, just attack and cast fire magic until it dies; don’t forget to heal as needed.

After the fight, exit the castle the same way your first came in (there won’t be any fighting). Use your wing to warp back to Alcapa. After getting Borongo (the default name), walk back to the inn and talk with Pappas. Say yes and you will exit the village (keep Bianca’s ribbon preciously for later). You will be walked automatically back to Santa Rosa.

1.3 The fairies

Village: Santa Rosa

After waking up go to the pub (second floor of the inn) and talk with the fairy (standing on the bar). Go back to Sancho’s house’s basement and talk with the fairy again.

Village: Fairy Castle

Go up the stairs and you will be walked to the fairy queen, Lady Powan. Say yes twice and Bella will join you. Get the holy water in a jar next to the inn and exit the village. Walk west, south of an impassable mountain range; keep walking west to a cave.

Dungeon: Cave of the Thieves’ key

Follow the path south, turn left at the sign and up when you can to get a total of 125 gold. Walk down, all the way down to go downstairs. Go up the northwest corridor and turn left to a dark corridor to go downstairs. Walk down and east, under a stone wall to get agility seed. Walk around the stone wall south of view and go downstairs. Walk up to get the “secrets of the key” (what you want), walk back and open the door next to the stairs to get 120 gold and acorn of life. Exit the cave. From the fairy castle, walk north around the pond, walk west when you see impassable mountains and you will eventually reach the next dungeon.

Dungeon: Ice Castle

Walk (or rather, slide) west to get intelligence seed. Go back to the entrance, slide into a hole, walk: right, up, right, down, left, up and upstairs. In this room: down, left (*2), up, left, down and downstairs. The chest of the left wall contain 5 gold and a wing of the wyvern. Go back upstairs, Walk up, right (*2), up and right to go upstairs. In this room: left, down (*3); you should be here.



Now: right, up to the wall, left to the wall, down to the obstacle, left, down, right, down, right and up. Talk with Zaile to trigger a fight.

Boss fight: Zaile

Just decrease his defense and pummel him while staying healthy. Because you will engage in another fight right after.

Boss fight: Snow Queen

As always, decrease her defense and burn her to death while staying healthy. Watch for her icy breath that attacks everyone for about 15 damage; she also knows icebolt (20 damage to one). She can also heal herself.

After the fight, get the flute of spring and a boomerang from the chest. Now exit the castle: down to the wall, left to the wall, up to the obstacle, left, up to the wall, right, up to the wall, right to the wall, down *2, right, down and downstairs. Now: left, down, right to the wall, left until you can walk down (avoiding the hole) and go back to the fairy castle.

Village: Fairy Castle

Go to the Queen so she can melt the snow.

Village: Santa Rosa

Walk upstairs, walk towards the exit and talk with Pappas. He will walk you automatically to your next destination.

1.4 Henry the little brat

Village: Reinhart Castle

Once you gain control go downstairs and enter the room on the right. Enter the next room, talk with Henry, say yes and go back to the entrance; walk right to the church and enter the next room to get acorn of magic. Go back to the king and talk to him; go back to Henry, talk to him and say yes. Search the chest in the next room, come back up and look next to the table where he was sitting for a secret passage. Walk up to Henry for a kidnapping scene (follow the men outside). Go back to Pappas (take the stairs up once you cross the kitchen) and follow him outside. Walk north around the impassable mountain range, walk right, go between to impassable mountain ranges and follow the one to your right. Follow it to a poisonous marsh and enter the cave north of it.

Dungeon: Kidnappers’ Hideout

Walk straight up, turn right around a water pond (you will see Pappas in the distance) and keep walking right until you go down a flight of stairs. Go through the opening to get 180 gold, come back up and cross the stair bridge; go up another flight and go downstairs. Exit the room, walk north around the room and get to a strength seed. Go up the stairs to your left, enter the door and follow the south wall west to another room. Follow the path to an auto-fight with Pappas, walk straight on the star switch and take the boat. Navigate towards the southern part of that room to get a monster lure. Go back in the boat and navigate north, get elven medicine and enter the room north of you (with grass going into it). After freeing Henry, escape in the boat; just go due south and follow the path to go towards the exit. Watch a long scene where Pappas gets killed (you can’t win any fight) and you get bounded into slavery.

2. Adulthood

2.1 Escaping slavery

When you gain control, go up the stairs to your right and go upstairs on the roof. Talk with Henry (same green hair) and go back where you started. Talk to the woman next to the conveyor belt to recover, go back to the roof and you will go to sleep. Talk with everyone in the room, follow the slaves, go upstairs on the roof and go back down to where you started. Move up and talk with the overseer for a fight.

Battle: Whip man *2

You don’t have to win this fight, but at level 11 it should be easy to. Just keep casting gale and one of them will fall quickly. They can heal and steal your magic, but you should be able to win.

Talk with Henry a few times, exit the cell and talk with the soldier. Enter the barrel and drift away.

Village: Nameless nunnery

When you wake up, walk to the right room and talk to Maria (the blonde). Exit the nunnery, talk with Henry twice (say yes twice) and off you go.

2.2 Taking on Pappas’ mission

Just walk north into the next village

Village: Oracleberry

The last building on your left (near the entrance) is the Monster Day Care, if you plan on capturing many monsters. Search the pots for a pot cover and a monster lure. Right above is the storage facility, when you can get rid of surplus/unwanted objects. If you abuse savestates then go to the casino; you can get the Metal King Sword in no time. In the armor shop east of the casino, enter the door behind the counter and go upstairs to get a defense seed from the drawers. In the casino, go in the dancers’ changing room to get silver barrette and silk robe. At night, follow the passage northwest of the storage place to buy the caravan, which will help you carry more people (costs 300 gold).

Exit the village, cross the bridge to the north and walk northwest in the clearing to go back to a familiar place.

Village: Santa Rosa

Enter the house in the mountain (north of Sancho’s house) to get handwoven cap and rest for only 4 gold. You can now access the house behind the old man (the jar holds an intelligence seed); take the boat next to him and enter the cave.

Dungeon: Santa Rose cave

Follow the river until you can take stairs going down. Do so twice and walk north to follow the upper wall west to get to a chest with 850 gold. Go back, walk west and up to go downstairs. Note that this area is full of metal slimes; you can easily go up to level 20-25 if you use savestates. Anyway, follow the next path (you can’t get lost) to go up some stairs, circle around the large room (you will leave footprints) and up on the right-hand side to go downstairs. On the next floor walk down and left to get Lamp of Darkness (instant night when used on the overworld map), walk back right, right some more and up to get breast plate and agility seed. Go back down, take the staircase going down, walk straight west to a wall, down, right when you can, down to a wall, left, up a dark corridor and downstairs. Take the strength seed from the lower pot, the leather loincloth from the drawers and the Zenithia Sword after you read Pappas’ letter (you can’t wield the sword). Escape the cave and exit Santa Rosa; walk to Alcapa.

Village: Alcapa

Rest at the inn if you want to watch Henry worrying about Reinhart. Talk to the bunny lady in the house west of the inn, enter the passage and check the urn to get a small medal. Now walk back to Reinhart.

2.3 The evil Queen Mother

Village: Reinhart Castle

Enter the village during the day; during the night you will see a strategic entry point… Anyway enter the castle, go upstairs, talk with the soldiers and go back outside. Walk east and go towards the boat where Henry was kidnapped a while back. Navigate under the bridge to enter a cave.

Dungeon: Reinhart Basement

Navigate straight, go up on the altar and search to press a switch. Enter the new passage, walk right and go downstairs. Walk up the leftmost entrance, get the shell hat and steel fang, come back and go up the corridor you skipped. Follow it (passed a few cells), go towards the cell where the Queen is imprisoned and walk further south to go upstairs. Walk up, press the switch, go upstairs and be ready to fight.

Battle: Dragon Pup (quite a dog) in two separate fights

I leveled up to level 19 and was able to take it down in one hit.

Enter the tower door (to the kitchen) and walk towards the throne room (just go upstairs whenever you can). Talk with Dale and he will give you Reinhart’s Key. Go back to the interior court near the kitchen, enter the room next to the tower and unlock the door with jail bars on top. Get a small medal from the leftmost jar, search the rightmost book shelf and go downstairs to warp. Exit the shrine, walk north on a beach, cross a bridge and enter a familiar place.

Village: Nameless nunnery

Enter the nunnery, talk with the sister next to the organ (say yes) and walk back to the tower south of the warp shrine.

Dungeon: Tower to the Mirror of Ra

Walk up straight to another door (no need to open it) and turn right to go upstairs. Walk straight down to get 650 gold, come back and continue to walk west (beware not to fall down) to eventually open a door and go up some more. Walk up straight and around that room to get acorn of magic and scale shield. Come back and follow the path to the right to go upstairs yet again. Search the left urn to get magic water, go back downstairs and take the other large room with a gap to the left to go upstairs some more. Follow the path to an invisible bridge; walk up to about here



Walk one step left and walk straight to get the Mirror of Ra. Exit the tower (fall in the whole to your right, then open the door below you) and warp back to Reinhart (during the day only). Note that you can access the three chest up the stairs from the entrance but be very careful with the barrier floor (it CAN kill you). You can get 1200 gold, acorn of life and half plate armor. Once it’s done go back to the throne room and go upstairs. Use the mirror on both Queens and you will have to fight the evil one (on the left).

Boss Battle: Impostor

Decrease works fine on her. She can call fiends to help her but they are not very strong. Her fiery breath is rather pathetic at level 19. Henry’s stuff will be in Oracleberry so don’t strip him down yet.

After the fight, exit the castle and go back to the harbor (during the day) you first came out of as a child (due south of Santa Rosa).

Village: Vista Harbor

Enter the ship and sail away to another land.

Village: Port Selmi

Enter the lighthouse to the northeast (inside the harbor), climb up the ladder and check the drawer for a small medal. Enter the inn through the middle door, walk slightly right and get into a fight.

Fight: Bandit Wolf *2

They are quick but you should be able to take them down in at most two rounds.

After the fight, say yes to hear the proposal, no to repeating it and enter the stage. In the changing room, get a silk apron from the 2nd drawer. Upstairs, the urn in the first room has 50 gold. Search around the church here to get a small medal. Exit the village.



2.3.1 Optional quest: reuniting with an old friend and moving around easier

Just walk straight south along the coast to the next village.

Village: Kabochi

Enter the inn to change to day (I believe it’s automatic). Enter the house right after the bridge to get strength seed from an urn. The next house over has a leather hat in a barrel. The chief’s house (with the horse) has magic water and a small medal in the jars upstairs. In the building inside a hill, search the end of the corridor next to the shop to get a small medal. Exit the village and follow the clearing west (along the coast) to get to the next cave. Make sure you have Bianca’s ribbon with you.

Dungeon: Killer Panther cave

Walk east (ignore the corridor south), walk down the next corridor you see and walk towards there to search for a small medal



Take the western corridor to get a stone axe, come back, take the next corridor and walk downstairs. Cross two bridges, fall down the hole closest to a room north of you and walk down in the next room to get iron helm. Walk back up to go upstairs (you will be next to where you fell), go back across the two bridges and walk south of the stairs and west to get a man-eating chest. Follow the southern wall down (across a bridge) and follow the path to go downstairs. Enter the next room and talk with the panther for a fight.

However this is no ordinary fight. If you use Bianca’s ribbon the foe will smell it… and reveal itself as Borongo! He will then join you (after talking to him); just escape the cave afterwards. Don’t forget Pappas’ sword behind Borongo! Make your way back to the village.

Village: Kabochi

See the tile across some stairs? Walk towards it from the right, go downstairs and get the armband of sacrifice. Go back to the chief, talk to him to get your money and get out. Go back to Port Selmi, follow the coast to the northwest until you see a panel; walk straight west to the next village.

Village: Ruraphin

Enter the tavern (first building up the stairs), go upstairs and then down to get a wing of the wyvern in a barrel. Go back up to get an acorn of magic in a barrel in that room, exit to the east (in the church) and go towards the jars to get an agility seed and a small medal. Now walk around the pub, walk here



Walk right to a tunnel, walk left to the poster seen above, walk directly south of it and enter the house with the smoke rings. Talk with the man (say no and yes) and follow him upstairs. Talk to him, get a magic water from a barrel and exit the village. Walk towards where the map showed – walk northwest towards a waterfall, cross them, walk back down and then south until you see the herbs glow (during the night). Walk on them and search to get Ruramoon herbs.


Go back to the magician’s hut, talk to him and follow him downstairs. Talk to him again, start moving when you can and talk to him again. Cast Return to Ruraphin and enter the inn. An urn upstairs has a small medal.

2.4: Fetching the wedding rings

Exit the village and walk straight south (long but straightforward) to enter a house. Check the well from below to get a small medal. Keep walking south and enter a cave.

Dungeon: Cave to Salabona

You won’t be able to move far because a soldier wants you to go to Reinhart. Do it.

Village: Reinhart Castle

Walk to the throne room, talk with Dale and go upstairs to talk with Henry. Then go back to the cave. You can also go back to Oracleberry to get a world map if you need (at night, where you got the caravan; costs 1000 gold).

Dungeon: Cave to Salabona

Walk south, east and get a small medal. Come back one room, go left and follow the path upstairs. Walk to the southwest, cross a bridge and enter a village.

Village: Salabona

Get an iron shield from the rightmost room’s drawer at the inn. Get an intelligence seed from the secondary mansion (across a bridge, southwest of the fountain). Then keep walking north and enter Ludman’s mansion. Talk with the lady at the entrance (say yes) and talk with every suitor. After the speech, go upstairs to Flora’s room and get a silver barrette from her drawers. Get another small medal from the old couple’s house (first floor drawer) just south of the inn. Exit the city, cross the bridge and follow the coast south. Walk on the sand path to the end, walk up between two impassable mountain ranges and walk up to a volcano.

Dungeon: Ring of Flame cave

Walk west past a suitor, cross the second bridge you see and get 450 gold. Cross back the bridge, walk north to change room and follow the path (it’s long but mostly straightforward; walk south of a pool of lava). You will eventually cross a bridge and go downstairs. Walk up, right to the end and up to get a man-eating chest. Walk back to the intersection and walk into the lava (you will receive damage for each step so watch your health) to get a staff on antimagic south of you. Walk back to the safe trail, walk left and take the first corridor down. Keep walking right to get iron helm. Walk up the second corridor you see and go downstairs. Walk right, up the first corridor you see (on a small patch of lava) and get a defense seed. Go back, walk left and go around a large pool of lava. Change room, walk left and go down a path of lava to get 1500 gold. Walk back to the large pool, go up the middle corridor (full of lava), change room and walk southeast to another path of lava to go downstairs (for a healing tile). Go back up and follow the northern wall west to go downstairs again (down a safer path this time). Walk up, search the ring and be ready to fight.

Boss battle: Lava savage *3 (appear individually, so forget group magic)

Flaming breath can do 30-40 damage. At level 20, they should take about three rounds each to kill. Make sure you stay healthy because the breath attack can be nasty.

Warp back to Salabona to heal, go talk to Ludman so he can hold the ring for you and give you free access to his ship. Enter it (right outside of town) and follow the river north to a lock blocking your passage. Disembark and walk slightly northeast to a village surrounded by trees.

Nameless mountain village

Enter the house in the hill and get a strength seed left of the merchant; the other one is a demon jar. It can cast beat and do critical attacks. Get a small medal from a barrel downstairs in the inn. Walk north of the inn and enter the house on pillars. Talk with the man on the bed, and after a scene exit the bedroom to have your breakfast. Say yes, go talk to Bianca and say yes again and exit the village (don’t forget the small medal next to Bianca’s mother’s tomb). Go back to the boat, open the lock and navigate northeast to there



Keep navigating up the river and under the waterfall to the next dungeon.

Dungeon: Water Ring cave

Follow a long path down some stairs, walk up and around a lake to go down some more and walk west as much as you can to go downstairs yet again. Follow the path until you see a man in the water. Walk north of him along the eastern wall, go down the first oath you see (you will also see a dry ledge) and walk west down the hole. Exit the room, get the robe of serenity from the chest and fall down the other hole. Move to the next room, go downstairs, exit that room, walk west (you can walk on the water) over a small fall and go down into the water. Take the stairs to the right, go downstairs by walking east and eventually get to a chest with elven medicine. Go back into the water and follow the path between the two staircases. Get 1200 gold in the water (literally) and enter the room under the big fall and get the ring of water. Exit the cave and warp back to Salabona.

Village: Salabona

Enter the mansion during the day, walk towards Ludman and answer yes. At night, go talk to Bianca (just below Ludman’s mansion) and to Ludman in his room. When you’re done, go talk to the innkeeper to finish the night (if it doesn’t work, try talking with everyone). In the morning, talk with your true love to marry her (I always choose Bianca, but I will refer to her as “your wife”). Exit the village, navigate back to Bianca’s nameless village and get the silk veil from the general store (inside the hill by the entrance). Warp back to Salabona, go to the secondary house and talk to your wife. Now walk to the church and get married! In the morning go to Ludman’s mansion and talk to him. Get 2000 gold and the Zenithian shield from the unlocked chests.

2.5: The Return of the King

Exit the village, warp back to Port Selmi and use Ludman’s ship (talk with the man in front of it) to navigate. Just navigate south, all the way pass an island with impassable mountains and a tiny island with a sign. Once you hit the coast (there will be lots of sand) follow the coast east until you reach a range of impassable mountains. Disembark and walk towards the oasis. Get a small medal from an urn. Walk straight west from the oasis and enter a castle.

Village: Telepador Castle

Walk north of the inn and enter the side door (the church). Go upstairs, walk left and enter the main gate. The back room has a demon jar in the upper-right corner of the back room, but also a defense seed. Go downstairs, talk with the queen (in the lower-left corner) and follow her. Search the helm and follow the Queen back to her gardens. Talk to her, say yes and don’t forget the small medal in the well (look from the south side) northeast of the room. Exit the castle, walk back to your boat and navigate due east to about here



Enter the shrine to rest as needed and walk north (through poisonous marshes) to enter a cave.

Dungeon: Mountain Pass to Chizod

Follow the path up, cross two bridges and when you cross another one climb up the stairs northeast of you. Get 550 gold, come back and walk west to climb the stairs across from a chest. Go up, then down two flights of stairs to your left to reach it (it contains a small medal), ignoring the stairs to the far left for now. Climb back up the two flights of stairs, climb the second one to your right and keep walking right to get ring of prayer. Walk down to get a small medal in the left-hand jar (the other one is a demon jar) and keep going downstairs to talk to the old lady. Say yes, and your strength will increase 5 points and you will be able to sleep. Come back up, go back to where you got the small medal in a chest and climb up the stairs to the far left. Climb two flights of stairs to your right, enter the cave and go up the second corridor. Keep walking left to get a small medal, walk up the corridor and take the first intersection up to go upstairs. Walk down, climb up the, er, sand mountain, go under the bridge, go up and follow the path to a priest. Walk south of him to reach a village.

Village: Chizod

As you walk east, talk to Bianca for a scene. Get a monster lure for the barrel inside the inn. Downstairs from the weapon shop (the building before the bridge exiting town) is a small medal in the old man’s room in a barrel. You can also get a fighter’s hair in the jar across from the stairs. When you’re ready, cross the bridge and enter a cave.

Dungeon: Cave to Granvania

Go downstairs and go up-right when your flight of stairs is surrounded by water. Follow the path and get 1500 gold and a mimic (on the right). Fight it and get a small medal (make sure you cast decrease as it’s quite strong). Go back to the stairs and walk down against the wall to get a small medal. Go back to the corridor you ignored, fall down a ledge and go back in. Follow the path to the left (you can’t get lost), fall down a ledge, get rogue armor and get back in. Go right downstairs and walk up to a room with leaf of world tree. Come back, follow the path to the right and get a mimic (with a small medal) and a small medal. Keep walking south, turn left at the intersection and get to a chest with another small medal. Come back to the intersection to turn right, go downstairs, get 270 gold from the chest, follow the path down and go downstairs next to a hole. Go down the stairs to the left to get a bomb stone, come back up and walk to the far right to go upstairs. Follow that path and get 1600 gold from the first chest you see. Keep going upstairs, fight a mimic to get your next small medal, go upstairs and walk left to get wing of wyvern (lower chest) and fight man-eater chest (without a medal). Make your way back to where you got the 1600 gold; fall down the hole in the center. Exit that room, fall of the ledge and get stone of life. Go back in, get agility seed and man-eater chest on the right, walk left and exit the cave. Just walk up straight to Granvania.

Village: Granvania Castle

Enter the castle, walk towards the back and get intelligence seed from the barrel behind the merchant left of the large door. Go through these doors, walk right and go under the stairs



To get hat of happiness, naughty underwear and ring of prayer. Walk to the far left to get strength seed (2nd jar from right) and small medal (4th jar from right). Talk with the ladies in the church, exit the castle and walk to a small building on the right side. Get boxer shorts in the drawer to the right and talk with Sancho (say yes). After your wife’s big announcement, check the drawers to get lace bisuche and stone of life. The next room to the left has a defense seed. Now go downstairs and start walking down on the carpet. Exit the throne room, go down one floor (the entrance used to be blocked by a green soldier when Sancho escorted you) and check the drawers on the right side to get a small medal. Exit the castle, walk east across a bridge and walk up left of an impassable mountain range to go into a cave (surrounded by sand).

Dungeon: Cave of Trials

Note that metal babbles are roaming around if you want to increase your level. Anyway walk up straight, open the far-right door and enter-exit it. Open the door next to it, walk left to open the next door and walk south to go downstairs. Walk all the way up to a wall (left of a pool of water), enter the room above to get a small medal, exit the room and walk left to a large corridor with sand. Move the rock towards the door (but leave enough room for you to fit) and open it; the rock will keep you to go with the water. Get the swordedge armor and open the door behind the altar to get downstairs. Walk on the left crest, go downstairs, walk left to search the broken pillar and say yes. Walk on the crest and up the newly formed bridge to the very back to get the Symbol of Royalty. Walk back and be ready to fight.

Battle: Kandar and Shield Hippo

Kandar can cast healmore so take him down first. They will go down easily when over level 30. Now walk back to the room with four doors and cast outside. Now go back to Granvania.

Village: Granvania Castle

Go to the throne room and talk with the king. Talk with the ladies and pace a little downstairs (talk with everyone in the throne room). Run upstairs when you hear babies (yes, two) crying and talk to your wife. Name your children however you like, and after a night of sleep go downstairs to get crowned. After it’s done (don’t forget to sit on the throne) walk downstairs to meet your new subjects. At night, go back upstairs to learn bad news (search under your wife’s bed) after talking with the nurse. After the conference exit the room and walk to the northeast room to get flying shoes from the drawers. Use them right away.

2.6: Turned to stone

Enter the shrine to rest as needed and walk straight north, going towards a tower surrounded by impassable mountains.

Dungeon: Tower north of Granvania

Enter the right door, go upstairs and be ready to fight (Leaonar), which goes down quickly when you’re above level 30. Walk on the star, search the nearest jar to fight a demon jar (and a small medal in the other), get strength seed and wizard’s robe from the chest and talk with the monsters to fight two hawk men. Walk on the upper star, walk up the corridor to fight Leaonar and Orc King and come back to go upstairs. Walk around this room to have obstacles pop all over. This is what the way to the armband of sacrifice looks like



From the chest, walk back to the stairs and go along the right wall to take the stairs. Go upstairs (*2), walk outside to go downstairs and fight mimic (first chest; get small medal), 880 gold and magic water. Go back to the “spear room” seen above (fall in the holes to make it quicker) and make your way like this to the stairs (the far-right spears is where you land)


Walk around the hole, follow the path upstairs, go out, get zombie mail and go back in to go upstairs. Go out, follow the path to a room with dragon heads. They spew fire within two tiles and can kill you. Navigate your way around them to the stairs going up and walk to the far left of that room to get small medal and leaf of world tree. Go back to the hole in the middle of the room; push three rocks in the hole (leave the one below as it’s a monster) and fall into it. Push one lightly against the first dragon head to your right, push the next one to the very next head right below, push the next one right below the next one and go upstairs. Follow the path upstairs (ignore the door going outside) and flick the switch (after fighting 2 balloons and a mammo). Walk on the star, flick the next switch and get a small medal from the jar, a wing of the wyvern and a mimic (with a small medal) in the chest. Enter the door leading outside you skipped, follow the path (talk with the chancellor to see the bastard die) and get ready to fight on the topmost floor.

Boss battle: Orc lv. 20

Watch out for its decrease. Otherwise just pummel it to death.

After the fight go in the newly opened corridor for the next fight.

Boss battle: Wyvern lv. 35

It can cast snowblast, flame breath and seems to avoid attacks more than average. But it’s still no match for you when you’re level 30.

Enter the newly opened corridor, go downstairs and be ready to fight (talk with your wife first).

Boss battle: Jahmi

You won’t do much damage for the first few rounds (watch out for blazemore and blizzard breath). Use this time to increase your defense. At one point your wife will jump in and cancel Jahmi’s barrier. Now pummel him to death while staying healthy.

After the fight, look at a very long scene where you are turned to stone and watch the world change.

3. Fatherhood

3.1 Mom’s birthplace.

When you gain control, go downstairs to the throne room and talk with Ojiron. Walk down one floor, go to Ruisa’s place to setup your party as you wish (I usually travel with my children) and exit the castle. You can also recruit Pippin (the soldier in green in the house right of the fountain). Warp back to Port Selmi and navigate your ship. Make your way back to Telepador Castle to get the Zenithian Helm (by talking to the Queen in her gardens like before) and warp to Reinhart.

Village: Reinhart Castle

Go to Henry’s room (above from the throne room), find Collins the same way you found Henry during your youth and go back to Henry’s room to receive hat of the winds. Exit the castle, walk to the left and open the chest to get into a fight.

Battle: Kandar Henchman

If you leveled up your children to level 30, just pummel him to death. Still, he can cast sleep. The chest contains demon armor.

Exit the village, make your way back to Bianca’s mountain village (north of Salabona) and go under Duncan’s house. Talk to the man to get into another fight.

Battle: Kandar Henchman

Same battle as above, really. Get a silk bisuche in the chest afterwards. Now warp to Granvania, walk north to your ship and navigate northeast to a narrow river. Keep left at the fork and keep navigating north until you see land. Follow the coast west (you will pass impassable mountains) and start going north along the coast when you see a narrow river (towards the forest).

Keep following the coast to a small shrine; enter it to get an intelligence seed from the right jar and a stone of life from the chest downstairs. Search the water pale from under (next to the well above the house) to get a small medal. Exit the house, get back to your ship and keep following the coast around the shrine’s peninsula. Enter the cave you see with your ship.



Dungeon: Cave to El Heven

Navigate north at the first intersection and disembark. Follow the path to a Satan Helm and go back to the ship. Navigate east, up, east again and get a small medal for a chest on the tiny island. Navigate west to the end, go south when you can and exit the cave. Keep navigating south and enter the village.

Village: El Heven

Enter the main building, go up a flight of stairs and enter the middle door; climb up the ladder. Take the defense seed and small medal from the jars behind the old couple and keep walking west to go upstairs (there are two guards nearby). Talk with the four elder(esses?), go back to the entrance and walk west among the trees. Get the magic key from the chest, walk back to the entrance and go under the building right next to the main staircase. Make your way east under the building, walk east of the old man with a fire pit and go under the building again. Walk under the old couple’s room and walk towards stairs going down. Get the magic carpet and exit the village. Warp back to Salbona (your ship will follow, don’t worry).

Village: Salbona

Go to Ludman’s mansion and into the man’s room to talk to him (say yes). Exit the village, walk one step away from it and use your carpet to fly here


Enter the shrine, go downstairs, check the jar and warp back to Salbona. Enter the tower right next to the city and go on the topmost floor. Be ready to fight.

Boss Battle: Buorn

Make sure you cast all protective spells like increase and bikill because Buorn is very strong even at level 35. You can also push your luck and cast decrease on the fiend (especially if it casts upper). Watch out for its raging flames that can do 50 to 70 damage.

3.2: In search of Zenithia

After the fight, check the chest to get the final key. Exit Salbonia and warp back to Reinhart. Use your carpet, fly southeast towards the river and follow it west. Fly inland and follow impassable mountains towards the north. Enter the cave you see.

Optional Dungeon: Cave of the royal cloak.

Open the jail door and keep walking north to go downstairs. Follow the path down, walk left and up and go downstairs some more. Walk west (opposite of a white tile), go down the first corridor you see and get a small medal. Go back up, walk right, go down the next corridor you see and get elven amulet. Walk back up, take the next corridor down, go downstairs, take the first corridor to your right and get a demon hammer. Come back, walk up, left and push the white tile from under on one of the face on the ground. Walk back down, walk left and up and push that tile to another face. Go back down, take the first corridor down to your right, walk left, up and push that tile. Walk back down, take the corridor you just came from down to the wall, walk down some more and carefully push that tile on the final face. Get the royal cloak, exit the cave and warp back to Port Selmi. Use your carpet, fly south towards Telepador Island, then east to the end of the island and south to a tropical island where the Medal King resides.

The chest right of him contain golden tiara and two small medals. Talk with the king to get rid of your medals and take a king metal shield if you want (sword of miracles restores after every hit). The lady at the counter has a depository if you have extra objects. Exit the castle, fly north of Telepador Island (above poisonous marshes) and follow shortly the river. Land here and enter the tower.



Dungeon: Former Tower to Zenithia

It’s nearly the same tower as in Dragon Warrior IV. Anyway, walk up the stairs, go northeast to go upstairs, enter the room to get leaf of world tree, go back outside and go back downstairs. Walk west above the columns above the red carpet and follow the path to go upstairs. Do it a few times, get the small medal and keep walking to enter a room with stairs going up. Take the second flight (up in the room), follow the path (you will go outside), go back inside (opposite stairs going down) and follow the path to get the magma staff. Exit the tower, walk west to where you landed your carpet and use it again. Fly it due east, follow the coast south (around a peninsula) and start flying due north when you see this island


Go right of the passable mountains you see on the larger island and land south of impassable mountains. Use the magma staff and enter the cave.

Dungeon: Cave to the bottom of the lake

Walk down to go downstairs, walk down, enter the cart, enter the next cart, flick the switch and enter the cart twice. Flick the switch, enter the cart, get 950 gold, enter the cart again, flick the switch and get back inside the cart. Go up the stairs to your left to take acorn of life and small medal from the chests, go back down, flick the switch and enter the cart next to it. Go upstairs, flick two switches and ride the cart. Ride the carts to go downstairs, walk down the stairs, follow the path to get 750 gold, go back to the stairs, walk right, flick the switch, take the magic water from the chest, walk down the stairs above the switch you just flicked, flick the next one and ride the cart. Ride the first cart you see, flick the switch, fall down the hole, walk down to go upstairs and ride the second cart. Walk down, flick the switch where the man is going in circles and go talk to him. Walk back to his infinite loop, go up the stairs and go upstairs. Get the staff of benediction, go back downstairs and ride Pusan’s cart. Go upstairs to ride the next one, take the next one and you will be in the castle.

(Underwater) village: Zenithia Castle

Yet another relic from Dragon Warrior IV. Walk up the stairs to the large main door, enter it and follow the path to the throne room. Check behind it for secret stairs, go down and right for a scene about why the castle fell down. Warp back to the surface, return to Port Selmi and use your carpet. Follow the coast south; once it starts going west just fly due west until you hit the land. Follow that land mass to the east, fly south when you see shoals and onto and island with desert and forests (strange). Disembark, cross both bridges and enter the tree that stands out.

Dungeon: Forest of Illusions

Walk all the way up, enter the building, get elven medicine from the drawers and a small medal from the rightmost jar. Exit the building, follow the path up, go right when you see a small lake, down at the intersection to get a fairy sword and back up all the way until your children see the fairies (only they can). Just follow your children and you will enter the fairy village.

Village: Fairy Castle

Note that the armor shop has some nice upgrades. Walk straight up to Lady Powan (say yes) and she will give you the fairy horn. Exit the village, walk down, left at the intersection, down-left at the lake, down and onto the world map. Walk back to where you landed your carpet, unroll it and fly back to the former tower to Zenithia (it’s the island due east of where you are). Land your carpet, walk north of the tower and walk into the lake.

Village: The Great Palace of the Fairies

Take the boat, ride it to a water lily and blow the horn. Enter the newly formed castle and walk up to talk with the Queen. Walk to the left, talk to the guard and go upstairs. Walk left, talk to the fairy and look at the picture on the wall. You will be warped back to Santa Rosa before Pappas left it. Talk with every single person in the village (including the guards), then go to the church to see yourself as a child. Talk with yourself, say yes twice and go back to the main room. Go right, go downstairs and take the staff of thunder and princess robe from the chests.

Exit the palace and make your way back to Zenithia (going through the carts again). Talk to Pusan and watch a scene. Go back to the throne room to talk to him, exit the room and walk down to the first level of the outside stairs. The Zenithian of the left has dew of world tree (heal all but can only carry one), get a small medal from the next room in a drawer, enter the fire place and take a grappling hook. Go back to where Pusan put the orbs and stand on the star to fly the castle around. Fly back to Telepador Island, keep flying west to another island and land in the desert west of a tower you see. Enter it.

Dungeon: Tower of the Dragon

Climb up the ladder on the left side and go all the way up. On the summit, use the grappling hook and go inside the tower. Follow the path, take the small medal from the chest, ignore the stairs going up you see and enter the room to your right. Walk until you see a grappling hook “holder”; walk right and enter the room. Take the right-hand stairs down to get 2700 gold, go up and take the other stairs. Walk around the giant stone figure, take the devil’s armor from the chest, keep walking and flick the switch to open the front door (just in case). Keep walking left to go downstairs, follow the path (watch for poisonous marshes), go downstairs and walk left. Take elven medicine, go downstairs, fight the mimic (and get a small medal) and get a small medal from the other chest. Take the stairs to your left, go right, down (ignoring the stairs), go downstairs and follow the path up. Go upstairs and be ready to fight.

Boss battle: Gonz

It’s a physical foe so make sure to cast increase. Don’t forget bikill and decrease too! He will go down fast.

Take the Dragon Left Eye from the chest and backtrack to the stairs you ignored earlier. Take the path up and you will be back to the 4-way intersection. Walk up, follow the path to go downstairs and follow the path to get a shield of darkness. Come back to the 4-way intersection, walk left and go up/down the stairs to take the path up. Follow that path downstairs and walk a long way to get a well-deserved revenge.

Boss fight: Gema

Once again don’t forget stats-boosting spells; his ordinary physical attack can do 90 damage. His blazemost can do over 100 damage and his flame breath can do about 50 damage; he can also exhale a numbing breath. Just kill him and stay healthy.

Take the Dragon Right Eye from the chest, warp outside and get right back in through the front door. Walk the path right and make your way back up to the grappling hook ring. Use your hook, place the eyes correctly (remembering it works like a mirror, i.e. the right eye is on HIS right) and warp outside once again to make your way to the newly deployed tongue. Enter the statue, jump down the hole and take the dragon staff. Go back up a ladder, use your grappling hook to go down and enter the room. Walk carefully around the barrier floor (use step guard) and take the dragon orb in the back. Exit the tower and make your way back to Zenithia.

Village: Zenithia Castle

Walk to the throne room, talk to Pusan and say yes. Get the Zenithian Bells, exit the castle and use your new item (heaven bell) to call Master Dragon.

3.3 Ending the Order of Light

Fly back to the former tower to Zenithia; keep flying north until you see the temple where you were enslaved. Land your dragon there.

Dungeon: Temple of the Order of Light

Enter the right-hand door, say no to the soldier and be ready to fight.

Battle: Snakehand

He’s going to be quickly history.

Take the Zenithian armor, get back to the entrance and enter the temple. Talk to the soldiers, walk in and talk to them again for a fight.

Battle: Dragon Warrior *2

As weak as the previous battle.

After the fight walk to the right (climbing up the stairs) and make your way to the altar. Talk with “Martha”, say no repeatedly (but yes to whether you think she’s fake) and get into a fight.

Boss Battle: Ramada

As always, boost your stats before pummeling the foe – decrease works too. His blizzard can do up to 60 damage, his physical around 40 with increase and his flame breath, around 50.

After the fight, search the darker tile among the light one to go downstairs. Follow the path, enter the cliff after the unlit torches and open the door to enter the basement. Walk up the stairs (guarded by statues), walk right and go downstairs. Walk up, climb up the ladder, walk right and climb down and take the path on the ground. Change room, follow the path and go down; walk south to get demon claw. Walk back to the stairs, walk left without climbing them, walk down (don’t go under the bridge to your left), go left and up the ladder and change room. Walk south, climb down the ladder and walk south into a room with shield of ruins and slave clothes. Go back one room, walk to the left without climbing up the ladders, climb the ladder next to a wall and change room. Walk right, go downstairs and be ready to fight.

Boss Battle: Ivol

This fight is harder because manipulation through savestates is more difficult. He can attack twice in a row. Of course, boosting you stats will help you greatly (bounce too, but it reflects healing spells too). His ice breath can do nearly 100 damage, bounce (for magic), explodet for about 80 damage and freezing rays to cancel your defenses. He also tends to do critical attacks more than ordinary ones. Stay healthy (make sure someone can cast healus) and kill him.

Search the altar to get a ring of life and make your way to where you fought Ramada (you will hear Martha’s voice when you return to the quarry where you were enslaved) to free your fight from her stone form. She will join your team once again.

Village: Granvania Castle

Walk to the throne room to talk with Ojira (say yes). Talk with Sancho, go back upstairs and talk with your family. In case you didn’t get the chest above Ruisa’s place, get 3000 gold and a meteorite armband (increase agility). Exit the castle.

4. The end

Warp back to El Heven, take your boat and enter the cave.

Dungeon: Cave to El Heven

Navigate straight north, disembark the ship, open the door and use the ring of fire (lower-left statue), the ring of water (lower-right statue) and the ring of life on the last statue. Walk behind it and you will be sucked into the Dark World. Don’t forget to take the sage’s stone before exiting the temple.

Follow the clearing, cross a bridge, walk due east, follow the path without deviating and you will see a village; enter it.

Village: Jahanna

Get a defense seed from a barrel below the church. There is a monster daycare in the upper-right corner next to the weapon shop if you need. To enter the inn, hug the trees (as in walk closely, sillies) to the left and climb up the stairs – the middle drawer has elven medicine. Use the same technique to hug the city wall from the left. It’s worth the walk to get a small medal from the barrel. Exit the city, walk south to be on passable mountains and follow the coast east (always stay close to it). Cross a bridge, walk west pass a poisonous marsh and up the next one (cast step guard) to enter the final dungeon. Several areas after where Martha dies have King Metal slimes; use savestates to get copious amounts of experience.

Final Dungeon: Mildrath’s Castle

Walk up straight to the next room, do the same in the next one (cast step guard) and go upstairs. Walk up, right, up, left and go upstairs. Follow the path down, go down-left when you can, go upstairs and take robe of darkness. Go back to the intersection that lead to the chest, take the upper path (it leads upstairs), walk down and go upstairs some more. Walk down, left, right across a narrow ledge and get ogre shield. Come back, cross a narrow ledge to your left and walk up to go downstairs. Get a small medal, go back up, enter the next room and follow the path left and be ready to fight on top of the cliff.

Battle: Dark Shaman *2

 Despite having firevolt (can do 30 damage), they are nothing to worry about when your children are around level 35.

After the fight watch your mom’s final moments (walk up and down to finish the scene if needed). Walk down the stairs and enter the next room. Avoid the arrows, go downstairs, walk due east (on a single arrow pointing right) and follow the path to an echoing hat (casts a spell twice in a row). Walk slightly down to walk on arrows pointing left to get small medal. Now walk up on an arrow pointing up to go upstairs. Walk east on arrows pointing right, walk on the arrow pointing down against the wall, walk on the series of arrows pointing left and then on the one pointing right to get holy chamberpot (!!) and sun crown. Walk up on the arrows and walk on those pointing up to automatically go downstairs. Go right back up, walk left to take the stairs down, back up again and exit the room (you are back where Martha died). Walk south to enter the next room (don’t forget the multi-edged sword left of it first), use the holy chamberpot and go downstairs. Walk northwest (avoiding the weird tiles) to fight a mimic and get a small medal. Walk on the weird tile north of you and fall down a hole. Go upstairs, walk right avoiding the tiles, get the king metal helm, walk to the southwest around the tiles and get 3300 gold. Walk west and walk on a tile here to fall down


Go upstairs, follow the path up and you will eventually go downstairs. Walk up, go left and enter the room where the wall masks look at you. Walk left (avoiding the hole) and stand on the star. Follow the path right (you can’t get lost) and stand on the next star. Walk back up to stand on the next star, walk right and up to stand on the next one and walk down from the hole (without falling in it) to move the platform to go to the next room. Walk straight up, open the chest and be ready to fight.

Battle: Hellbattler *2 (appear individually)

If your level is over 40, they shouldn’t be much of a problem. You will get an orihalcon fang after the battle.

Enter the next room, walk straight and be ready for the final battle.

Final battle: Mildrath

Like most final battles it has more than one part. In the first one (with the ordinary boss battle theme), cast you boosting spells as usual; decrease can work. His blazemost can cause 100 damage, he can cancel your boosting spells, he can call for help (I had attackbots, and they appeared as a group) and his glittering ice can do 95 damage.

After that battle, the real final one begins. He is really annoying because he can meditate and heal (not sure what percentage). His hellish flames can do over 120 damage, his blazemost can do about 100, his attack can do 100 damage even with increase, he can cancel your defensive spells, attack twice in a row and cast decrease. Stay healthy and you will win.

After the battle you will be warped back to Zenithia. Talk with the Zenithians if you want, then move to the exit to fly with Master Dragon. You will be brought to most villages you visited. Talk to whoever you want and then exit the village to be flown to the next village. In Granravia, just go to the throne and watch the end credits.

The End

But wait! There’s more!

5. Bonus Dungeon

After you see “the end”, hit reset on the emulator and load a game normally. Warp to Evil Mountain, walk south of Mildrath’s Castle and enter the bonus dungeon. Note that you can play normally, including exchanging medals at the Medal King.

Bonus Dungeon

Walk southwest, get small medal and restoration orb (one resurrection with full hit points) from the chests and come back to the stairs. Walk north (ignore the corridor going right), enter the room northeast to fight a mimic (and get a small medal), come back and walk west without deviating. Open the jail gate, make your way avoiding the holes, go right of the stairs to get shield of radiance and come back to the stairs. Don’t take them; keep walking west and walk towards the next flight of stairs to fall into a hole (you can see cracks in the floor). Walk left across poisonous marshes (cast stepguard) to get drum of war (bikill to active team members), walk due east and get hell saber and go back upstairs. Avoiding the cracks, walk south to the wall, west along the wall, north to another room and downstairs. Walk east to get sword of decimation, walk due west for two rooms, up, left, up, right, down, right, down, right and downstairs. Go up, upstairs and follow the path down to fight a mimic (and get a small medal) and get elven medicine from the other chest. Go back downstairs, walk down, left, down twice and get king metal armor. Go up, right twice and get an empty chest. Go downstairs, follow the path (cast stepguard as needed), walk left at the first intersection you see, up and get iron ball of decimation. Walk down, left and go downstairs for the bonus boss (say yes). Make sure you are at least level 50 by fighting king metals.

Bonus fight: Esturk

This fight is tougher than Mildrath. He can attack twice in a row, can freezing rays to cancel your defense and attack for over 130 damage. His blazemost and explodet can cause 80 damage, his glittering ice nearly 100 and his hellish flame over 130.

I was able to finish him in 32 rounds, but it could have been fewer if I hadn’t used supporting magic so much. Oh well…
