So here's my update for the past month. I've finally found a degree to work on! You may be asking what took me so long? Well, I've never found anything I immediately knew of interesting enough to actually commit my time and money to learn. But, I've decided to go for a Digital Cinematography degree. I want to go into film editing with it. All of this was decided this last month. (March) And with this, comes a lot of time involved. It will take a long time for me to be able to get to the professional level of editing I want to get to. While I do have a good eye for pictures, and other things, as such, I find that there's not enough money in Photography to make a living off of.

This is the main reason I've been "inactive" this month. I went and spent many hours going through old photos, trying to figure out how I like to edit them. I've gotten Photoshop and Lightroom to edit. (For now. ) Looked at cameras. Found a good college, and did research. Between that, and my full-time job, I've been busy. I have been really happy to find a degree to do, and this new sense of direction is just awesome. Best thing, is that in theory, I should have no issues with getting into huge amounts of debt while getting an expensive Fine Arts type degree.

Well, in short, that's been my month! Looking forward at this month, I'm getting ready to get back States-side, doing more editing, and doing research on the best edited movies. Hopefully this month will be as good as March!

Edit- Had an example photo, but upload didn't work...

What took you so lo... wait. You answered that question.

Well, degrees are interesting to pursue and work into career fields and hopefully in two to four years from now, you still want to be in the same field.

Good luck. Good hunting and do the work. Get that degree finished and hurry up and get to real life. It's better when you're done with school for good.

Wow! Film editing sounds awesome! XD Congratulations on finding a degree to work on! =D Do you have an idea of what you'll be learning in your classes for Digital Cinematography (did you already choose your classes for your first semester)?

As for the amount of time it will take you to get to the professional level of editing you want, I've heard that if you're attending a good art college, then you might be able to accelerate your learning speed and acquire experience more quickly if you can connect with the artists that are already working in the industry (especially if you happen to meet them at your campus). lol Sometimes, they might even give you tips and hints and show you some shortcuts that aren't presented in any of the online art tutorials.

Anyways, good luck with the degree and hope you'll update us on your progress from time to time! =)

Yuna1000 : I will have classes like English, Math, and some Science for the first semester, but second is when it really kicks off. Most of it won't be editing, but it has a lot to do with that. A lot of it is camera work, directing, editing, possibly other stuff, I can't remember off the top of my head.

I've been messing around with Lightroom and Photoshop, it's really easy to color-grade, but I still haven't moved beyond pictures, eventually I get to the video editing, but I want to start easy.
