I never use an analog mixer like Behringer Xenyx 802, but after searching for an image of it on google, i know what most of the knob is for, so from that, I suggest you to just use a DAW for recording and mixing cause it pretty much has the power to do stuff just like an analog mixer, and you don't need to plug a lot of bits and pieces to mess around with. I mean i guess, you can record through an analog mixer and re-process the recording through DAW, but, thats pretty much doubles the work. So i would say, a DAW is better than analog mixer, why? After researching for a bit, this is why...
1. You have a lot of stuff to plug and setup using an analog mixer, while with DAW, you just need to plug your microphone to your pc/laptop, and then record, and then process it.
2. An analog mixer have this thing called EQ which is stands for equalizer which is something to use to equalize different frequency signal that a sound makes, and with analog mixer, it only have 3 bands of eq which is low, mid, and hi band (if you wanna know more about this, you can pm me or just search on google) meanwhile, in a DAW, like FL Studio for example, you have an EQ program called Fruity Parametric EQ, which has 7 bands, now the more bands gives you more room to work with the vocals, i know this is confusing, but the more you practice, the more understandable this gets.
3. Now i'm still confused with how the FX work with analog mixer, but, i assume you need to plug another analog FX hardware in order to play around with it, meanwhile with a DAW, you got a handful of FX programs (like reverb, delay, filter, distortion etc.) and you don't have to plug dem stuff in order to use it.
4. An analog mixer is an electronical thing, it can break, especially when it has that much knobs and plugs, meanwhile a DAW, is a software, i mean it can crash and stuff but you don't need money to repair it, and you can always get the latest upgrades without paying more money, convenient.
So on that note, using an analog mixer is gonna be harder that a DAW, cause you can do the stuff that analog mixer can do with a DAW, and the best part is, you can pirate a DAW! (Jk lmao, but why buy if you can pirate.) So yeah, hope this helps you i guess, and i hope your music career will be successful!
