I love this game. It’s pretty small if you don’t know what you’re doing, but it can be a lot of fun. I had the chance to get the game for really cheap here and I spent hours messing around with whatever I could in the game. It made me think a lot of Kerbal Space Program, and while it’s nothing near as good as it, it’s still amazing.

---

The graphics of the game are very simple, probably too simple if you ask me. All you see in the game is the surface of the planet and then nothing but pitch black because of space, along with the designs of the ships. The game doesn’t look anything like No Man’s Sky when it comes to space, but I think there could have been a bit more effort put into the backgrounds. You are allowed to change the skin templates for the rockets which is cool though. GRAPHICS – 6

---

The music of the game is really cool, especially the music that plays when you first reach the menu and then start the game off. It’s very a very calm and simple song, really just a bunch of beats, but once you have played the game for a while, it begins to grow on you. The normal sounds themselves are okay, but sometimes when you are using your engine and then do something else, the sound of the engine just cuts off into nothing. The sounds of explosions are also pretty bland and also spell doom. SOUND – 7

---

The game is a ton of fun, and very addicting. Even if you just want to keep launching your rocket over and over, turning it over, and crashing it, you could keep doing that many times over and still have fun each time. There’s a bunch of different aspects of the game that keep you interested, whether it’s the fun of designing your rocket to be cool or effective, planning out your strategy, launching, orbiting, or whatever. If you like these kinds of strategy games with planning and designing, then you will be addicted. ADDICTIVENESS – 10

---

The game has a story, yet at the same time it doesn’t. There’s no real plot, but along with the designing and sandbox mode, there are a bunch of challenges that you can take on. The challenges let you do anything from launching to landing, to orbiting another planet. Isn’t really enough of a plot to warrant a grade for story. STORY – N/A

---

The game has a pretty sweet amount of depth. You only get about two dozen different pieces that you can use to build your ship, but you can literally put those pieces in any way that you want to make your ship as strong, as weak, as cool, or as big as you want. You can make a ship with less than 10 pieces, or you can build a ship with hundreds of pieces. There’s also a bunch of different planets that you can launch from with different sceneries, gravity, etc, and there’s also a bunch of different challenges to complete, and moons, satellites, and planets to orbit. There’s so much to the game. DEPTH – 9

---

Aside for the pretty easy stuff, the game is really hard until you know what you’re doing. Building a small rocket and launching will be easy, but making a bigger more powerful rocket will take a lot more out of your brain, plus a lot of trial and error. Other aspects of the game take a lot of effort as well, such as when you are trying to land, trying to orbit, trying to find the right trajectory, or even trying to connect to a satellite. When you first start playing you might not know what you are doing at all, and even once you get accustomed to the game it will still be pretty difficult. DIFFICULTY – 7

---

Overall, this is a really fun game. It’s a fairly cheap game at only $8 so it’s worth it if you like these kinds of games. I would definitely suggest this game even if you only play it for a few hours, I doubt that you will be disappointed. Overall, it’s great aside for a few low notes and for an overall grade, SimpleRockets gets an 8 out of 10.
