How do you make this game sound awesome without spoiling the ending? Getting past the typical shooter elements, it's amazing. It has many of the third-person shooters great, but it's not your typical shooter... You really have to watch out though, since it starts messing with you about a third of the way through. Some things start to seem odd, but why? I guess you'll just have to play this awesome game! SPEC OPS: THE LINE. The best desert third-person shooter I know.

Graphics: I'm giving a 10 of 10. The reason it should get this high rating is that despite my laptop not being the best ever, it looks amazing. The way the sand reacts, is just realistic. I've been in the desert, and it feels exactly like the game makes it... (Maybe a little exaggerated, since it doesn't actually have that much storming... But, while that may be odd, it's something that is used in the gameplay. This makes the environment a key gameplay element. I know this is only kind of graphics... But, you know, the thing that'll really blow your mind is the opening. You start out using a Gattling Gun from a Helicopter. If anything will make you feel like your in Delta Force, it'll be taking down helicopters, as the opening. (Spoiler-ish report?) But, you have to be careful, pay attention, the entire game, will haunt you... (Spoiler-ish report?) You'll know what I'm talking about if you've ever played this masterpiece!

Sound: 8/10
Reasoning for this is that although, good, I don't really feel it's something new, you've heard the M4/M16 (Fancy titles for the same rifle.) But, what makes it cool, is that they aren't making the game about being different, you feel secure, same sounds as most shooters. Same old, same old, right? Well, only partially. (Skip the next little paragraph to avoid anything getting spoiled.)

Spoiler:
Looking at this? Well, good. The "secure" feeling is key, since they don't change the sound, and the voice actors sound like most games... You feel like it's a normal shooter, but is it?

Okay, back to the non-spoilery section. You've heard me say some things that makes it sound like it's just a normal shooter, but it's a key thing, you'll understand after completing this game. So, really I want to give it a higher rating, due to the design needing a normal sound, but it's kind of in the "middle," if you will.

Addictiveness: 9/10
After you get used to the game, cause even if it's designed like most third-person shooters, they do change some things. I love the running to cover, since it feels like something that's really taught. Well, you also will note that I'm talking about design, and it's really a genius move, since the entire game is just like a giant Narrative, hooking you in and making you not be able to leave, until you get to a section when you can't use your team, or keep dying because of a Sniper you didn't see. (He say you, didn't he? That's why you keep dying.) To rub this in, after several times of dying, the game asks if you want to change the difficulty, mocking you, while helping... (Kind of like the difficulty options of Wolfenstein: The New Order... Look up the descriptions and pictures, you'll understand.) But back on topic. I really had a hard time stopping, the only reason I could, was that I have to sleep and work... For some reason, I can't quit my day-job, probably why I know that the game mocks your lack of skill. Any-who... It's hard to stop playing, the game gives you enough to do, while keeping it interesting. You always'll feel like there's more.

Story: 10/10
Okay, for serious... This'll be hard not to spoil, so Just In Case!
SPOILER ALERT NOW IN EFFECT! Okay, how do I tell the story... You are sent to Dubai to find and extract the 33rd Battalion survivors, after a Sandstorm makes Dubai uninhabitable. When you arrive, you Captain Martin Walker (voiced by Nolan North... Just thought you should know.) state, "Gentlemen, Welcome to Dubai!" As you progress, you'll start noticing that some things are off... Take note of these, it's important, especially as it'll help make the ending more shocking. There are 2 options for the ending, and 2 after the first one... What happens after that, is up to you! whoever decided to make the story, really made one of the most cliché starts ever, since shooters, love doing certain things, you are always in a special unit, never regular Army, or Marine, you're always Delta Force, Ranger, or some other Special Operations team, you go out, and kill everyone, and win! Well, that's how this starts out, until you start going nuts... But, back on topic, this game is AWESOME! The story makes this game unique... (I know, I just called it cliché and unique... But it's a false Cliché, for the story. Specifically, the ending.)

Depth: 8/10
While the game is awesome, you have to admit that once you beat the story, there's only multiplayer, which is really not the reason I'd be playing this game. I don't even know if anyone plays online. In the game, there's only finding Intel, and new guns, some achievements, like 250 headshots and shooting blind and killing someone, etc. This may sound bad, but remember, you can play again, and get the other ending and variation. It's not much, but it's definitely better than you'll think. I beat the game, and then watched the other ending on YouTube, it's actually cool! The ending actually does change a lot. This is the reason I gave it average, it has more to offer than Call of Duty, but not really. It's just average, since once you've played, it loses the shock value. You already know what's going on. So, it's good, but not really too replayable. There's no special mode, either, nothing to keep you playing it..

Difficulty: 9/10
It's not the hardest shooter ever, but it's not the easiest either. While, I usually play on  Normal, this game only really has three settings... So, I assume that either way, it's not TOO hard, except when you get to the section that tortures you, with the knowledge, that you've been kicking some serious butt, but now you have to power, and you'll know it, because you didn't see that one guy, you know they guy with the body armor and a machine gun, have fun dying 5-10 times before you figure out that you could've used that one weapon... (You know, the one with great accuracy, and more power than you're M4?) This makes this game a little harder, but that's just because they threw in a few harder sections. Most of the time I died, I got careless.

Nice review, man.

I had to read this after I saw what game it was for because I have a friend who absolutely raved about the game to me (his ravings were more spoileriffic than your review though). Apparently this game goes into a lot of things that most games of it's kind completely forget about. But I'll shut up before I end up getting into the spoilers. Lol

Anyway, good job here, man. You kept it simple without sacrificing detail. Also I don't consider this spoiler-ish at all.

Eirinn : It's hard to review this game without wanting to give away the ending... So, I thought I would give some warnings etc.

You should get the game! It's awesome, only one of it's kind, at least in my mind.
