Hey, hey, hey guys! Today, i'll give you the first Vizzed review this game has. Of which i'm surprised it feels like i'm the only person who knows of this game. Because this game is a great alternative Super Mario Bros... Except that it's our cat friend Garfield who has an achievement: Snapping out of his nightmares during the entire night.
So before i begin, i must say that this game is for the DS and on the top screen, you can see Garfield and his surroundings. On the bottom are: - His lives (Max: 99) - His donuts (100 = 1 life) - His pizza (the more you got, the more chances you have to restart from where you fainted) - His coins (coins are needed for bonus levels, each main level has a hidden Bonus Door) But this amazing game is not done yet. I mean, there are several of worlds you need to finish, each world containing a boss fight as well! This game is in a lot of languages, even Dutch!
---------------------------------------------- Graphics: The graphics are normal for DS games, but i still gave this a 9 because of the animations. I mean, there are several of animations, but they could be better. Like Garfield's stomp attack (B button). Garfield wouldn't stomp something hard with his butt, right? I would think of Garfield stomping with his feet. Anyway, the animations are still okay. ---------------------------------------------- Sound: An 8 because i love both the world 1 music songs, one of the world 2 songs and most of all, the world 4 song. Those songs sound so good! Yet, world 3 has music but not my favorite. The music is made with care but not enough care. And the sounds are pretty cool too. Like in world 1 the spike ball that gets dropped and lifted up every few seconds... Wait... Thwomp reference from Super Mario Bros?! Holy... *beep* ---------------------------------------------- Addictiveness: A 10 because if you complete one level and can't see a world map, you're curious for the amount of worlds. And above all, there's no quick save option. (as it saves the game after completing a level) Plus it's a fun game if you got into it a bit. ---------------------------------------------- Story: This one gets a poor 5 because of this:
It starts with a comic about Garfield eating an XXXXL sandwich and has a stomach ache. He goes to sleep and gets trapped in four nightmares, and he needs to escape. That's where we come in. Then, after beating boss 4, he wakes up fresh and healthy. BUT if you go game over, he still wakes up. It's just that he's not recovered and it's still nighttime. And that's the lamest part of the game: No matter what you do, you wake up at some point. ---------------------------------------------- Depth: This one gets a low point too because there are only four worlds to beat and only four easy boss fights. These worlds each have four levels, so that's 16 levels and 4 boss fights. Sure, it has its challenges. But not very much. ---------------------------------------------- Difficulty: This one deserves a 5 because there are challenges as i said and it's too easy to beat. A Super Mario Bros professional would annoy himself/herself with the controls, but that's alright: You get a question mark coin everywhere in world 1. A question mark coin tells you information once you touch it. Anyway, another thing about the difficulty: Boss 2 doesn't even aim for you when he attacks! He just aims for the left and right very randomly! ---------------------------------------------- Overall: An 8.9 for this game. I've rated games higher than this, because this game is amazing but easy. It might be a great alternative if Mario doesn't exist anymore. But this game is very easy, so you might be aware of that. I still would recommend this game to friends who love Garfield and Super Mario Bros! Hey, hey, hey guys! Today, i'll give you the first Vizzed review this game has.
