ok i am running windows 98,can i make rpg maker 95 work on my computer? or not?

Hmmm...Well, I looked on the RPG 95 board, I looked in the Game Creation part of the board, I looked in the help files, and I still can't find the answer...

Is there a list of the things you can do to the text withing the text window in RPG 95? Such as...Pauseing the text, makeing a quake effect within the window, or changeing the text's colors?

Is there a way to make a spell to change forms in the World Map only? I thought you could use a Escape Point to try, but am I totally off on the wrong track or what? Or is it by item only?

I also have to know is there a way to make a brand-new monster in the Monster Editer, beyond the normal 00-99 in the New Game, or am I just botching the cut and paste of the monsters?

Sorry for all the questions, but I'm having fun trying to create a game I've been dreaming up for 10 years. Err...See ya, Dudes!!

Pah! Listen to no-one Midnight Dragon. RM95 rules all and I will plug my fingers in my ears and repeat LA LA LA LA at anyone who says different.

To pause text all you can really do is check the "wait for response box" perhaps you could put in a wait for a few seconds that'll freeze things for a few seconds.

Changing world forms? Not sure what you mean by this. If you want to make it look like the world's changing then cut and paste the area the hero is in and make a duplicate with whatever changes you want to make then teleport to that new area.

Making new monsters. Monsters are fully customisable. You don't need to create new monsters as you can change everything about them on the Monster Editor.

You can lalalala all you want but 2000 is waaaaaaaay better :-p

2000 is for ametuars of the series. 95's a bit more difficult to use, just based on the fact that its much more primative. but ya, if your new with the makers, id suggest taking 2000 for a spin, even if the colors are all wrong...

Thanx! I feel much better...Harder is better...What I mean is an item that can, like change a Human into a Dragon,
al-a Were but not night/day controlled.

I guess I didn't do the cut/paste right for the monsters, then. I feel stupid, so I'll go back and see what I'm doing wrong.

And the text...Hmm, Ok. I guess I get it. Eather that or I ask questions like a blind spaz, so I'll figure it out. Thanks again. RPG95 rocks!

Hurrah, RM95 has another fan. Stick with it buddy and RM95 will never die. As for changing the human into a drangon, if you want to have a human character change into a dragon i.e. a different character with better powers and abilities you hav eto create a seperate character for the dragon and when you want them to transform do the following;

Have a flash or something or sound effect to make it more dramatic
Change Party :Add Dragon
Change party :Replace Dragon (as new team leader)
Change party : Remove human

Return Hero Picture

And that should go fine. It's pretty much what I did in my Midnight Avenger Games.

Thanks, Now that makes real sence...And that whole text thing would be nice, but I think I downloaded some games to see how they did that. That's what I do, play the game, if it's cool, or does neat stuff I don't know how to do, I pick it apart, and see how the codeing and stuff works. It's amazing what you can learn, if you look at the picture in a help file, and not the text...


Oh, That reminds me...Can you put an Event text in a battle? Like halfway into the battle one char will turn to the other and say..kind of thing...Can it be done?

Yes! There may be a way but I've never tried it myself. Try making a spell and name the spell whatever the line of text is that you want to say. Make the spell do 0 damage or maybe heal the enemies slightly.

Have you downloaded my games Midnight Avenger Director's Cut and Midnight Avenger 2? You may be able to pick up some ideas there.

Argh, who actually finishes a game on RPG Maker 95? it's so dumb (even though I've never used it) that it's STUPID!

Hey Cookieman I think we should get over this RM95 vs RM2000 thing. I think RM2000 is a great program and I encourage people to use it. It's just that RM 95 is my weapon of choice and it has some nice features and I think it has great potential and I like to see other people use it so it doesn't die out completely.
If you've made some games with RM2000 and have a site I can download them on link me, I'm sure they'll be great.
Same goes for you Midnight Dragon, can't wait to see them games.
