So.. In case you didn't know, SM64 was going to have Multiplayer with it. Now, if Nintendo didn't have rough terrain, Mario and Luigi would be in the game, they decided to remove Luigi, not the rough terrain.

That's wrong.

It was the fact that the Multiplayer was too taxing on the N64's processor.

This isn't an actual thread about the game's development either.   There's plenty of more facts about the game then what your handing out, and the vast majority of mario 64 facts can be googled.
For example: A lot of the levels and stuff looked vastly different in the game's beta.

SuperCrash64 : Well, they WERE planning on doing it, and there is a failed experiment with the camera angle being locked in place, but still looking AT Mario. So yeah. if you really want to know what I am talking about. go here.

I've heard before that Nintendo was going to make Super Mario 64 multiplayer.

I think the game is fine the way it is because it would be a difficult game to play with more than one player. In later levels like Tick Tock Clock where there are many invisible walls and hard jumps, one player would most likely fall and then the other one be playing by him/herself until they exit the level.

However, if they made it like New Super Mario Bros. U where the other player loses a life but comes right back, that wouldn't be as bad but still tedious. I think multiplayer tends to work better for the more 2D Mario games.

Pacman+Mariofan : Yeah, if it were online multiplayer, it would be easier. Also, in normal SM64, there's a camera angle from a failed experiment with multiplayer, the camera is in the position it was before Mario is moving, and still looking at Mario.

lilbutch07 : I know what you're talking about, it's the "fixed" option on the pause menu. I've messed around with that plenty of times
