Amenhopper is one of the normal enemies in Mega Man X. It seems to resemble one of those water bugs that walk on water (the enemy slides on the surface of water in the game), but it has only 4 legs and has the ability to hop on land. So it could also be based on a frog, or possibly even both. It only appears in the stages with water (Launch Octopus and Sting Chameleon), and also drops bombs from the cannon beneath them, if the player is underneath them. It doesn’t have much health (only 2), and tries to run into you. It also appears in the remake of Mega Man X.
