Created by Shinji Mikama for Capcom, Resident evil was release at 22nd march 1996. They called bio hazard in Japan. A game influenced by games like Alone in the dark and Sweet home. The first survival horror game for fifth generation console, Playstation. Ever since the game branced out into novels,book,series of films and animated sequels. Resident evil series has sold 61 millions worldwide and become the biggest franchise in the survival horror genre.
          The story follows protagonists Jill valentine and Chris redfield and their teammates who trapped in a mansion while searching for survivors of the Bravo team STARS. (special tactics and rescue service) It begins on July 1998 after Alpha locates Bravo team's helicopter and found a dead body,Kevin the pilot. While searching and gathering information they was attacked by some dogs. The was forced to seek refuge in a mansion nearby. One of the team member was killed during the pursue.
          Four remaining members of Alpha team, Albert Wesker, Barry Burton, Jill valentine and Chirs Redfield are trapped inside the mansion. A gunshot was heard and Albert ordered Jill and Barry to investigate. They exits the hall and enter a dining room,which leads to a corridor where they find Kenneth,another Bravo team member. His neck been torn and a man seems eating him alive. (The iconic scene in survival horror game) Jill runs back to Barry and kill the approaching gruesomely deformed creature, ZOMBIE!!. Back in the hall Albert and Chris disappeared. Barry give Jill a lockpick before leaving the hall for further investigation.
          As the game progress they eventually finds the mansion full of traps and puzzles. They also found documents about experiments were conducted under authority of a biomedical company Umbrella. Various animals and people were exposed to the highly contagious mutagenic biological virus known as the T-virus and zombies and creatures that roaming in the surrounding area are the results of these experiments.
          The team soon discovers a secret underground laboratory and learns that Albert their team leader,was a double agent that work for Umbrella. Tyrant,a giant humanoid monster created by T-virus released by Albert. Too bad the monster kill Albert first and the team runs to a emergency helipad where they fight Tyrant. After defeating Tyrant,the entire facility is destroyed through a self destruct system and the team manage to escaped by helicopter.
          Players can choose between Chris (hard mode) or Jill (normal mode in my opinion). Jill usually finds more ammo and herbs while possesses a lockpick given by Barry at the start of the game. She could also hold eight items at once. Chris has better health and last longer when taking damage from zombies,but items are limited and he could only hold 6 items at a time. there are also additional supporting character for Chris and Jill. Rebecca Chambers will help Chris with her medical support. Barry will give Jill some ammo a lockpick. Later in the game Barry will help Jill to get a shotgun from a trap room.
          The game is pretty simple but first you need to know how to controls the character movement. Its abit confuse at the first time but once you get used to it then its very easy. Basically you just need to search every corner for key items and supplies. Each key item you found enable you to unlock the next area. Through out the game you will encounter many zombies and monster so be wise not to waste supplies you found. Resource is limited so you dont have to kill every enemy you encounter,sometimes you can just around them especially zombies because they are slow.
          More powerful weapon will be available later in the game like magnum. Save up the strong ammo for stronger enemies or boss fight. There are few different creature you can find in the game like regular zombies, zombie dogs, hunter, giant spider and chimera. Use only pistol on zombies and dogs. Shotgun or bazooka on hunters and chimeras. Usually i ignore giant spiders,and use magnum or bazooka fire rounds on bosses. There also some snakes,crows and sharks but usually they cant hurt you as long you run fast enough.
          The healing items includes green,red and blue herbs. Aid spray is very important because it will restore full health. However,a single green herb only give you 1/3 of your health unless you mix it with red herb. A mix (red and green) will give you full health just like Aid spray. A blue herb will cure poison,which you can use it alone or mix it with (red/green). During the game always carry one healing item,you never know when you need it. Remember to save game regularly,reset the game if you wasted to much items in certain area. Too bad you need Ink Ribbon to save game and there are not many,so be careful when you decides to save.
          There are not many boss battle in the game. The first boss you encounter is a giant snake then you will fight a giant plant, a giant spider and Tyrant. (you will need to fight him twice) Giant snake could be a difficult a boss,not only it has huge damage bite it also could poison your character. Make sure you have plenty shotgun/bazooka rounds,and 2-3 full healing items. The next boss is a plant, 'plant 42' is quite easy if you poison it with V-jolt. During the fight just avoid the falling acid and dont get to close to the plant. Giant spider is the easiest,just a couple fire bazooka rounds should do it,or simply use flamethrower as Chris.
          Tyrant is super easy when you first see him in the secret underground lab. Just shoot him 2-3 times and run. Repeat until it collapse,you may use pistol and save up your magnum for the second encounter. He will appear in helipad,this time he is not playing around. He will run and charge,just make sure dump all useless item in your inventory. Brings only magnum or bazooka and its ammo and fill the empty slot with healing items.
          There are multiple endings for each character. For Jill, in order to get good ending you need to wait Barry after he drops the rope in the piano room and save chris from the lab. As for chris, keep Rebecca alive and rescue Jill from the lab. Fail to do so you will get bad ending. After the ending credit you allow to save. If you start a new game using the save file you will get a special key for alternate costume. If you finish the game under 3 hours you will get a rocket launcher with unlimited ammo.
          Here is a few tip i will to share. Always check if the fallen zombie is dead or not. You can either use the auto aim system (just simply turn away and aim) or see if there is a pool of blood. When using shotgun you can wait the zombie get closer and aim high. It can blow off the zombie's head off in single shot,multiple target works too. In wide areas with zombies,you could always ignore them so you could save up ammo.
          Resident evil is great,simple and truly a  survival horror game. Puzzle solving are satisfying and jump scares are classic. Graphic are not bad at the time but music/audio is great. it fits the mood and makes the game scary. Apart from the lousy actors and probably the worst voice acting in the video game history,i think this a good classic survival horror game.
         
         

I love how much effort went into the review. But it kind of felt like you simply explained the content / story of the game (with some serious spoilers) without really going into detail of why you think each aspect of the game is as good as it is. This feels more like a walkthrough or guide ("tips and tricks" might be a better phrase here) than a review seeing as how you explained more about how to play the game than rating it for quality. That's just my opinion though. It was still pretty well put together.
