Vanelan : The pictures load when they appear. All pictures that aren't displayed don't load until they do.

Davideo7 : It seems to take longer for pokemon to load than Spider-Man...

That would be pretty cool then, It would certainly be more organized. But you can do what you want David

Vanelan : It's not actually the pictures loading that slows it down though. I think the script has to load all of the info of the available pictures and keyword all of the descriptions. Also the amount of HTML behind it all could be adding to the slowness as well.

I can see how that would be the case.
Do you think there is some way to speed that up?

I'll take a look at the script myself and see if I can offer any suggestions, but there is a very noticeable difference with a game that has that many more screenshots.

Vanelan : I tried optimizing the HTML which helped a little but I don't think there's much more I can do with this current script. I have 3 options:

1. Make it so the image gallery is broken down into pages where it only loads like 500 screenshots per a page. The big down side to this is that when you filter based on the categories or do a search, it'd only look for screenshots from that page and you'd have to do the search/filter over again when you go to the next page which would be annoying.

2. Make it so the image gallery is broken down into categories where it only loads the screenshots based on a category. Clicking a category would change the page and the current categories within the gallery wouldn't be based on the screenshots category anymore but instead the sub category. This is hard to explain what I mean and while it would be a better option than #1, I'd still prefer it if when you type in a search, it went through all screenshots rather than whatever category you're in.

3. Switch to the isotope gallery which handles lots of results way better and has more features (examples: http://codepen.io/desandro/pen/nFrte and http://codepen.io/desandro/pen/wfaGu). This is probably the most powerful and popular gallery script on the internet and offers many features. This is the option that appeals the most to me but it would require more time since I'd have to get rid of the current script and set up a whole new script (which I probably wouldn't have time for any time soon).

I wouldn't want to give you extra work, but I worry that for some slower connections, the pages might not even load.

Does the isotope script automatically tag as well?
A cursory glance seems like it doesn't, but I haven't really looked too deep into it at this point.
