Hello Vizzed, It's Joey W back at it with another review! This review, as the title suggests, is for Pokémon Light Platinum, which is one of the most famous Pokémon hacks out there. So without further adieu, let's begin!
Graphics: The graphics in this game were superb. It had generation 4 graphics in a generation 3 game. However, there was one major flaw in the graphics design. When imputing the sprites of certain generation 5 Pokémon, there was an error, which distorted or completely removed the sprite of some of the Pokémon. Other than that, you won't see better graphics for Pokémon here on Vizzed.
Sound: This game reused the sound for the Generation 3 Hoenn games, which were classic. As I love the Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald music, I gave it a 9 due to it just being copied.
Addictiveness: It was hard to put this game down, mainly because it is digital so I never picked it up! Joking aside, this game is really addictive. I am very willing to play this game in the future, so I had no choice but to give this a 10.
Story: This game had an excellent story. You start off meeting a league champion and the world champion, who happens to be none other than Ash Ketchum. As you defeat the criminal organization, Team Steam, and conquer the new region of Zhery, you are introduced to the neighboring region of Lauren, which you defeat as well. Upon spending hours of fun defeating two regions, you are finally invited to the World Championship, where you defeat Ash, becoming the World Champion.I don't even think the regular Pokémon games have this much action! So I give this a 10/10 for story.
Depth: Like you can infer from the "story" section, there is so much to do in this game. You will not ever get bored (unless you spend a lot of time acquiring hundreds of free masterballs). This game has hours of fun. However, I gave this game a 9 here due to the fact you cannot fly to ever city or town. In fact, most of the cities in Lauren you cannot fly to. It was painful having to spend an hour just walking around many cities over and over.
Difficulty: This game was interesting. The game was definitely easy, although it got exponentially harder as the game went on. As for me, I finished defeating level 100s with a level 80 Charizard and a team of level 60s and a level 50, mostly because I didn't want to grind it out. It had annoying glitches throughout the game, especially the fact you couldn't fly in Lauren or when you had to help Ricyan City's gym leader capture the Pokémon. For me, after I found Shinx, the Snorlax and Steelix disappeared, only for me to have to take to the gym leader again and start over. Nonetheless, it was more difficult than a normal Pokémon game.
Overall, this game was fantastic and I recommended any Pokémon fan or non Pokémon fan to try this out! Also, please give me a suggestion for another Pokémon game to try out! Thanks again and until next time, stay classy Vizzed! CAUTION: CONTAINS SPOILERS. VIEW AT YOUR OWN RISK
