Welcome to the world of Castleminer Z. This game is buggy as hell but has a remarkable concept, layout, and design. As a matter of fact, I feel that if the kinks were worked out and "randomness" was added, the game could be so much better than Minecraft. Now what's the bugs that I talked about? Well, its a pretty big one actually because the game crashes, a lot. Once the game is on,you can only play it for like 10 to 20 minutes before it closes on its own, which is terrible, but during the time you can play, it's amazing.

GRAPHICS 10/10

I'm not going to lie, this is the most remarkable looking building game that I have ever seen. If I had to make a comparison, I would have to say that it looks like you took Minecraft and blended it with a game like Skyrim. The textures are great, and the details are just wonderful, so much more than what I would have expected from block building game. You can look up to the sky and see clouds the way they were meant to be seen, or you can look at dirt, stone, and mountains, and say "boy that sure looks real." Even the creatures have immense amounts of detail, whether it's a zombie, a skeleton, or a dragon. Yes, there are many games that have better graphics, but for a game of this genre, it looks incredible and for a grade, graphics is going to get a perfect 10 out of 10.

SOUND 6/10

The sound I guess would have three aspects to it, the okay sounds, the emptiness, and the horror sounds. The okay sounds are basically the normal sounds of hitting something, or placing something, firing a gun, etc, and those sounds work well, and You also have some very light music that plays. Then you have the emptiness, which is just what it sounds like, it's empty. Sometimes the music gives way to eerie silence that doesn't seem to fit well in the game and then that leads to the horror sounds. Sometimes you can be walking without hearing anything for a couple minutes and then you heat the ominous sound that there's enemies near by and you freak out and then all of a sudden you hear all the noises of being attacked and eaten. Trust me, it sounds nothing like what you would hear in Minecraft, the sounds are more suitable for a regular horror game than this kind of a game. Overall I feel that the sounds could be tweaked a bit and my grade for this aspect is going to be a 6 out of 10.

ADDICTIVENESS 9/10

When you can actually play the game aside for all of the bugs, it's a lot of fun. First off, its not like Minecraft where you start anywhere on a random map and do whatever, the point of the main game is to spawn in the exact center of a map and try to make it as far as you can without dying. Of course you have other modes like Creative and all sorts of settings so you can change what you do so you aren't fully limited. Whether you are building a castle, fending off a dragon, exploring an alien crash site, or messing around with guns, there's so much that you can do and it's still a lot of fun. Lets not forget that there's also a multiplayer aspect so you can do all that with friends. You can work as a team to move forward and get as far as you can, you can engage in bloody warfare, or you can create some sort of a civilization. Basically it is Minecraft but with different premises and its so addicting. If there weren't so many crashes, this could be the kind of game that you play for many hours consecutively and for a grade, addictiveness is going to get a 9 out of 10.

STORY 5/10

I pretty much mentioned the entire story in the previous section, which is to go as far as you can from the spawn point. The goal isn't even to survive as long as you can, you could survive just one night and have a better score than if you survived a whole month because the game is based solely on distance. There's a system that keeps track of how far you travelled from the spawn (in meters I believe) and every time you die that score is saved and you get to see your high score, but of course the further you go, the harder the enemies become to kill, the faster they become, and the more treacherous the terrain becomes. That's all there is to the story for so a grade, it's going to get a 6 out of 10.

DEPTH 8/10

Even though you are quite limited, there's still a lot you can do in terms of things like game modes. You have your basic survival mode, you have endurance mode, there's creative mode and I believe there's one other mode and there's also so many different stages and settings for each one. Not only can you change all that but you can also do all that while on an online server for double the fun. There's a really good amount of stuff for you to do in the game and for a grade, the depth is going to get an 8 out of 10.

DIFFICULTY 6

At times, the game can be very difficult, heck I remember one time I was on a server and I was trapped with 2 other guys on the peak of a mountain because there were so many zombies we spent the entire night so like 20 minutes maybe just attacking them before we could even head down the mountain. What I mean is, night equals death. Of course you could run into trouble during the say but at night you better be armed and ready for a showdown and have some sort of a base set up. Oh, and lets not forget that one fireball from the dragon can completely destroy almost any house and dragons are really really hard to kill so if you run into them, the game can get even harder but if you have the right materials you can survive. Overall it can be a pretty hard game, especially when you first spawn and have nothing to work with and for a grade, difficulty is going to get a 6.

OVERALL 7/10

Overall, the game is a lot of fun but could use some work. The only things that really affect the game is the lack of sound and the Immense amount of crashes, but if those weren't what they are the game would have been incredible, and like I said before, could even be better than Minecraft. The game had a decent price before but after numerous complaints of the bugs, the game got really cheap really quickly (only $4) so its still something to have at that price, because even if you can only play it for like 20 minutes at a time, its still definitely worth it. The game is still being worked on, just recently got a small update and for an overall grade, its going to get a 7 out of 10 though if it hadn't been for the bugs and sound, it could have easily gotten at least a 9.
