Before 1993, 3D graphics were rare and hard to come by, as the majority of video games at that time were in a 2D format. During this time, Nintendo was working closely together with Argonaut on Nintendo entertainment system games and Super Nintendo Entertainment System and eventually one of them created the Super FX chip, a powerful processor at the time able to render graphics in 3D and in turn spawned a brand new Nintendo franchise, under the the title of Star Fox (unless you live in a pal region then its star wing). The game was pivotal in 3D gaming and shooting games in the years to come. It was and still is a game that is well loved by many gamers around the world, Star fox continues to have a lasting legacy to this day and honestly I cannot wait until I can buy a copy of the brand new Star Fox Zero for the Wii U. (And possibly the NX I don't know) now to move on to the review, this should be fun. as always I will start with the story and this game has got a good one

The story is set in a fictional star system called the Lylat System which is inhabited by several anthropomorphic animals including but not limited to foxes, birds, toads, rabbits, apes, dogs, lizards and cats. for years the Lylat System was a peaceful place, with the planet Corneria as the capital planet. One day however, war was declared by Andross, an ape scientist who was thought to be long gone, and now he has returned with an all powerful army and huge weapons of war at his disposal, He conquered several planets until Corneria was the last free planet standing. In a panic and with no time to train new pilots on the experimental high performance star fighter, the SFX Arwing, General Pepper contacts 4 pilots to help defeat Andross and bring down his brutal regime. the leader of the squadron is a fox pilot that you play as in the arwing named Fox McCloud (but you already knew that) alongside his wing mates, Falco Lombardi, Slippy Toad and Peppy Hare who accompany him. The story is somewhat a bit like a later release for the Nintendo 64 which was Star fox 64, such an example includes the father of the main protagonist being presumed dead but I digress, now it is time for the graphics

As far as the graphics are concerned, this game is a masterpiece because of the super FX chips processing power giving it a 3D look in texture and environment even the stars are well placed. The arwing even casts a shadow on the ground in certain levels and the laser fire even looks like its flashing and explosions, those are awesome and there's even fire in some levels, the graphics do very well with each levels background setting providing a rich Sci Fi experience  that will never cease to amaze you. Compared to 3D graphics of video games today, these graphics have help up extremely well, especially when the arwing is just mashed together triangles but its the good kind of mashed together triangles.the graphics are just so well detailed, even for its time and how it holds up with today's lineup of games, overall this games graphics have stood the against the sands of time and one more thing, there's even a cockpit view with a targeting system, now onto the games sound.

Alongside the games already impressive graphics, the sounds is just incredible, the music in each stage sounds epic and makes things feel awesome such as the corneria levels music and the amazing Space Armada, but some levels music is a bit dull, but that's just my opinion. Theres one in particular called Fortuna, I don't hate that levels music I just dislike it. Asides from that level, it just really astounds you and never fails to impress me now the sound effects are just as cool, such as when you shoot your laser blaster and shoot down enemy fighters, there's even some minuscule voice acting, most of it however is just gibberish but that doesn't harm the game whatsoever the sounds of explosions is an awesome sound to hear unless your shot down and your ship is destroyed and when you get twin lasers an unseen voice will say, twin blasters, and when fired, will sound like two shots being fired at once. there is also the sound of the arwings engine and the sounds it makes when braking, or boosting. Simply put the sounds are amazing and when i go to sleep i often replay the sounds in my head as a way of getting to sleep its just one game you can't seem to hate, you just find yourself in the cockpit over and over again. now lets see how addictive this game can be

The addictive nature of this game is what a lot of games are specifically intended for, being addictive and Star fox delivers that very well, you just feel some sort of thrill playing this game and you feel like your the pilot in the ships cockpit. Anyone who likes games that involve shooting enemies will be instantly hooked on Star fox simply for the sheer fun of it and when your wing mates are being chased by enemy fighters you want to try and save them from being killed (in all other games they simply retreat) when you do save them they will thank you for saving their hides from being tanned. except for falco who rudely tells you to mind your own business, well last I checked, saving my wing mates is my business you ungrateful bird of prey. You just feel like you connect with the characters and develop this bond with them, thats how it worked with me. Its truly addictive and I play this game often when I can because its so much fun to play.  because of this addictive game you will have fun all the time so now we move on to the next part of the review, the games overall depth.

The depth in this game is remarkable, its main focal point is its replay value, you have three courses to chart your plan of attack, a direct route will lead you straight towards venom, which is the main base operations for the Venomian Army, the second route offers a more stealthy approach taking you to Venoms back door (cue dirty minded laughter for those who have dirty minds.) and the third route is the longest route of all and according to General Pepper, its the best choice to take Venom and by extension, Andross by surprise. the mere fact that the game only allows one choice of route per game is a great thing because it allows the player to enjoy its replay value, allowing them to battle across more sectors in the deep regions of the depths of space and take to fight to various planets , in a sense the player will be challenging themselves, there will more of that topic in the difficulty part of this review, now as you choose your route you will encounter different bosses and these bosses can range from being top of the line warships and bio weapons to atomic reactor cores and war robots, each boss is given a life meter, however if Slippy has been shot down, he will be unable to analyze the enemies life meter but no matter which route you have chosen, you must achieve victory by defeating Andross and smash his core brain in order to successfully win the game. And there's more there are two separate areas, one is a warp zone inside a black hole who many believe is where James McCloud went missing it will lead to three separate areas but if you missed the one you want to exit out of, no need to fret, the warp zone, the awesome black hole is an infinite loop allowing you to try your desired exit again and the other is an alternate dimension that would turn out to be Albert Einsteins worst nightmare, where things are not what they always seem and can be considered an alternate, darker ending of the game. in a certain level you can sometimes encounter a space whale. what you need to do to make it appear, that's up to you to find out for yourself, I can't go around telling everything, its more rewarding when you figure things out yourself. In adition to having lasers mounted on your ship, you also have a secondary weapon, a smart bomb launcher (called nova bombs in this title), you only have a limited supply of bombs and can carry up to five of them at maximum capacity. Now that the depth review is completed, I can move on to the second to last part of this review. The difficulty.

Now the difficulty depends on two things the choice of route you decide to take, and the skill of the player, the two go hand in hand. route one is the easiest route, its perfect for beginners, then we have route two, giving a more challenging experience for the player, this course is considered to be the intermediate course, and then there's route three, this route is for veteran gamers  and is the hardest course out of the three, it is also as I mentioned above, the longest route. Now I like to play all the routes as soon as I can finish the first one and then make my way up towards route three as for your game play, you have three lives, if you lose all three, well anyone can figure that out but if you score high enough and get an extra continue, you can start at the same planet or other area you previously lost all your lives on however, losing a life means you will lose your laser upgrade and there's another danger to your ships firepower. If one or both your wings have been clipped, the off screen voice (I think its the arwings computer system that says it) will say wing damage and will say this after an alarm goes off. The good news is that the wings can be repaired with a wing gyro but it will not restore your twin lasers, you have to find another one if you want to power up your ships firepower. Your ship also comes with the barrel roll technique, if successful, it wil repel enemy lasers its a very useful technique to stay alive. each boss is different and can be easy or a big challenge, everything has a weakness of course.  Just one more thing left to do, its time to wrap this review up.

When this game was released in 1993, there was so much hype surrounding it, there was even a competition that involved various prizes such as flight pins, flight jackets, a free flight to one of four locations around the world Nintendo promoted it with Star fox themed Kiosks which sort of resembled the arwing and then they were sent to sears stores (whatever they are). A TV with a VCR player stood next to the kiosk. The game took the spot of 115 the greatest video games of all time and was warmly received to critical acclaim. In addition it scored 34 out of 40 in Famitsu magazine and best shooter of 1993 by electronic gaming monthly. The official Nintendo Power magazine even made a short comic series based on the game thanks to a certain person named Benimaru Itoh who illustrated the comics this game is a must have for any gamer. It was this game that I sought to play online but I could not find it anywhere as a result its the game that made me a member of Vizzed. I never would have become part of this amazing website without this amazing video game. Thank you for reading my review I hope you like it

This is a great review! I don't see any problems besides a few grammar mistakes that can be dismissed. You put a lot of details into this, and I'm glad to hear that this is one of the games that made you a member of Vizzed. Looking forward to more reviews from you!
