It made a huge amount of money though, that's always an incentive. I just checked imdb and it says it's in production and estimated release is 2012.

I liked the most recent one a lot! I would rate it a 10/10. I think that that would be my favorite Star Trek movie.

DS9, it had nearly no good action and was mostly just talking... I was most disappointed in that...

Whars the Base difference between a phaser rifle, and the star ships phasers? ITs the same kind of energy right?

Belmontzar- The star-ship phasers use a lot more energy and are a lot more powerful and the phaser rifles only shoot a blast and are smaller. I think that is about it...

Yes, I think that they are related in a way even though they shoot different things...

Point one: The difference between a Starships Phasers and a hand held one.
Phaser beams can be adjusted in both width and output.
A ships Phaser banks are capable of a much higer output/strength and width/density then a personal Phaser.
That's about the main difference.

Point two: Phasers vs Ion cannons.
The two technologies are vastly different as I understand it.

A Phaser uses photons as its discharge, which is a form of quantum energy particle.
This is basically pure energy working at the quantum level to either affect changes on the mass (stun) or completely destabilize (disintegrate).
Because this uses a focused energy beam it is very precise and can be used in such a way that it can destroy something completely while leaving the surrounding areas unharmed.

An Ion cannon uses ion particles attched to a projectile, bascially a collection of atomic mass with an electrical charge inside a charged sphere.
While an ion weapon could be used to stun/disable if the projectile has a weak charge, it would be more considered a destructive weapon that causes collateral damage.

Everyone knows mirrors reflect lazers.. Would a mirror ((OBviously made of material that can stand High temperatures..)) be able to reflect or bounce back phaser blasts?

Due to almost everything being made out of high density lazers.. your dam near impenetrable! Immune to lightsabers, Laser pistol fire, and any other type of light beam based weapon! Plus, because the Attacks are made based on LIGHT rays.. NO knock back! also great for taking out enemies with stone vision powers..
