Are you a fan of the mecha anime genre and also a fan of fighting games such as Tekkin or Mortal Kombat or Street fighter?,.. you are?, well I have the perfect game for you that's based off of the successful and moderately popular mecha anime Gundam. In this game you are basically in a mecha suit and fight just like you would in a Street fighter, Tekkin or Mortal Kombat title. To put it simply Mobile Suit Gundam Seed: Battle Assault is basically what is said in the description, it "pits eight (plus four unlockable) Alliance and ZAFT pilots against each other in armored combat in the Bloody Valentine War. Each Gundam's attacks are split between physical close range attacks and long range beam/gun attacks. Gundams can boost to quickly move on the ground or change directions in mid-air, as well as enter Berserk mode that trades reduced armor for increased attack power as well as unlocking their Ultimate Attack. Before the game starts the player can reduce their boosting ability to increase their Gundam's armor or HP.Game modes include a simple story mode, training, time attack, survival, free battle, and 2-player versus." But unfortunately Mobile Suit Gundam Seed: Battle Assault doesn't use any source material from the anime except character designs and mecha armor and mecha armor attacks and the game doesn't take the initiative to incorporate any actual storyline or decent dialog into the game and feels generally rushed.

Overall I felt Mobile Suit Gundam Seed: Battle Assault deserved a rating of 6 out of 10. I rated Mobile Suit Gundam Seed: Battle Assault this rating because unfortunately the gameplay and main story in the game really has no plot structure or depth and the dialog is rather basic and repetitive, the main character repeats himself after each victory saying the same dialog. Another reason why I felt Mobile Suit Gundam Seed: Battle Assault deserved the overall rating it received is the game felt generally rushed to me, one of those "fly by night" so to speak games released to make a quick buck and made the player (especially if your a fan of the anime) disappointed due to lack of effort that was put into the story because the anime had a decent storyline and was more than acquitted to provide source material for a decent story.

For the graphics I felt Mobile Suit Gundam Seed:Battle Assult deserved a rating of 7 out of 10. I felt Mobile Suit Gundam Seed:Battle Assult deserved this rating because mecha's in the game are accurately depicted as they are in the anime with regards to there designs but one can notice you can't make out some of the finer details in the mecha's helmet(face) or armor. In addition the stages background animations are fairly good, nothing to special or in high quality detail but the backgrounds do vary from stage to stage. Each mecha is unique and has its own appearance and special attacks(weapon) designs.

For the sound, I felt Mobile Suit Gundam Seed:Battle Assult earned a rating of 7 out of 10. While I do give the soundtrack credit for being new, considering the game didn't use any soundtracks from the anime. Mobile Suit Gundam Seed:Battle Assult's soundtrack is appropriate for the game because it's fast paced like how the game is and gets the gamer pumped and ready to begin the fast paced button inputs to preform basic and special attacks.

For addictiveness I gave Mobile Suit Gundam Seed:Battle Assult a 2 out of 10.I gave the game this rating because while it did entertain me for about an hour, sadly I just wasn't very interested in the game due to the fact I felt cheated out of what could have been a really good fighting game based on a genre of anime that is generally underrated. I'm not likely to play this game again sadly because it just failed to get me excited to play and I feel as though unless your a fan of the anime you won't be likely to even see the game all the way through unfortunately.

The story of Mobile Suit Gundam Seed:Battle Assult I felt deserved a 2 out of 10. I felt the game earned this rating because despite having really good source material (a whole anime series) the developers and or screen writers generally in my opinion didn't bother to use any of it and instead focused and relied on the animes reputation to sell the game and cheated the game out of both a good story and a good gaming experience. The dialog in Mobile Suit Gundam Seed:Battle Assult was rather lacking and poorly thoughout and just seemed rushed and the gamer can tell there really isn't a story or deeper plot to the game other than your a person in a mech suit, now fight eight other mechs in eight stages (no actually levels just fighting another mech).

Now for the depth of Mobile Suit Gundam Seed:Battle Assult I felt the game deserved a solid 4 out of 10, simply because of the various other modes within the game in addition to story mode. Modes such as training mode , time attack, survival mode, free battle, and 2-player versus. With that said the game doesn't have stages just a straight up battle, mech suit vs mech suit.

As for the difficulty of Mobile Suit Gundam Seed:Battle Assult, I felt the game deserved a 2 out of 10, simply because there is three different difficulty settings (four when you beat it on hard) so really you can choose how difficult or how easy you want the game to be so to bottom line it the player can adjust the difficulty to his/her's skill level. But overall the game really isn't that difficult at all.

My final thoughts on the game is, Mobile Suit Gundam Seed:Battle Assult is a game I could really only recommend to gamers that are either a fan or the mecha genre or Gundam the anime. The production of the game feels rushed and the story mode (while it does come from great source material) sadly wasn't used and the game fails to hold interest and draw the gamer into the world of Gundam.

Good work again. I also like the length: not too short of a review, and not too long. If I had one critique it would be that you say the full name of the game quite often during the review instead of replacing it with descriptive terms like "the game". This normally wouldn't be much of an issue, but this particular game's title is a mouthful to say the least. That makes it a bit difficult to read silently even.

Aside from that, I have nothing to say that isn't entirely positive. This is a good review. Keep up the good work!
