On my laptop, f2 is to dim the screen, and f4 is like some second screen feature I think. Whenever I try to save state, it just dims the screen. How can I get the save state to work? Thanks!

Hey there you can try to use the Fn key while pressing F2 or F4. But i'm not not sure if it works, because I don't have this problem with my laptop. If you need more information, this is where i got the trick from:

Also I'm pretty sure that in the zsnes emulator you can assign the save stat keys.
You have press esc, then go to config, then to save and in the section shortcuts you can assign the keys.
I'm not sure about this is possible with the other emulators.
