cnw64 : Yay! XD Another person that has seen Attack on Titan! Thank you very much for reading the ideas and commenting on them! Are you enjoying Attack on Titan so far, too? I’ve been following the manga, and I actually read that before watching the anime. lol Ah, I hope you don’t think I’m trying to bash Frozen. I enjoyed Frozen too, even if there appeared to be some holes in the storyline. I’m just hoping they’ll address some of the questions in Frozen 2. XD
As you mentioned, Attack on Ice Titans would take on a much darker tone, but as you also mentioned, since it involves Disney, then the most the Ice Titans would do would probably just be to smash up some houses while the people run and the soldiers would be the ones to blow up the Ice Titans (and there would be lots of ice and snow exploding everywhere). I guess I didn’t quite mention it in the original post but I would prefer for Attack on Ice Titans to still uphold the Disney traditions (such as not killing anyone if at all possible). If anything, the people would just get frozen (in the most extreme cases) upon meeting the Ice Titans but they wouldn’t die while they’re in the ice either. Maybe I should edit my original post to clarify my intentions…
Thus, for the bloodless/Disney version of the story, some of the dramatic moments would more or less go like this:
In scenes where the Ice Titans chase the protagonists until they reach the top of a tall cliff, the protagonists would fall off the edge but they would land safely and squish a few Ice Titans on the way down. After yet another intense sled scene to escape the Ice Titans, the protagonists would eventually find that convenient cave (isn’t there one in every story?) where the Ice Titans wouldn’t be able to reach them. However, it would be a close call with the Ice Titan’s fingers almost brushing against the protagonists’ faces while their backs are pressed against the walls of the cave. At some point, the Ice Titans will give up and leave. The protagonists would breathe a sigh of relief but then begin to worry and discuss what to do in order to get back to their castle. In this version of the story, there wouldn’t be blood flying everywhere (unlike Attack on Titan) because when an Ice Titan is destroyed, it either dissolves in a pool of water or comes apart like powdery snow (Disney makes those special effects exceedingly well). Also, in keeping with the Disney tradition of having most everyone live, when the characters disappear under giant piles of snow after having been attacked by an Ice Titan, those characters would then be brought back and shown to actually still be alive at the end. There wouldn’t be any bloodshed (well, very little if any), and the characters would return with more insight about what the Ice Titans really are and how to defeat them.
Of course, if one sticks to the original Attack on Titans story and goes with the scarier version of the Ice Titans (with the Ice Titans being able to deal the same kind of damage as the original Titans), then Attack on Ice Titans (bloody version) would be much more frightening and I’m not sure Disney could be associated with it anymore. oO The more I think about what you pointed out, the more I think making a bloodless version would make more sense if one was to truly succeed in melding Frozen with Attack on Titan. Disney’s influence must be felt or else the Frozen part of the story wouldn’t really come across at all.
Finally, I totally agree that the video is hilarious and perhaps a tad bit overly dramatic. It still amuses me to no end with all the possibilities it offers, and to me, that tends to be an attribute of some of the most awesome videos. XD
Once again, thank you very much for the feedback, you’ve given me valuable ideas on how to make Attack on Ice Titans work as a story. XD (Yes, I’m working on a story for it for fun.)
